Chapter 684: I WANT YOU TO DO SOMETHING FOR ME
"What is it?" asked Apple when Hailee returned her phone, as she could see the worried look on Hailee's face.
But, when Apple asked this, Hailee immediately changed her expression, smiled and hugged her gently. "It's okay, Jayden said he will be away on business for a while and probably won't be home tonight," Hailee said, trying to calm Apple down.
Actually, though, what Hailee didn't know was; Apple knew exactly where Jayden was and what he was up to. But, because Hailee thought Apple didn't know and didn't want to worry her, she pretended not to know about it and smiled back at Hailee.
"Let's have dinner then?" asked Apple in a soft voice. She smiled very sweetly at Hailee when she asked her to eat together.
"Yeah, let's eat first, I'll call Ramon, you call Pyro, okay?" said Hailee who was greeted with a smile from Apple which made her want to pinch her cheeks. "Ah! You are so adorable!" she exclaimed, pinching Apple's cheeks. "No wonder Jayden likes you so much."
After saying this, Hailee then walked away to find Ramon, who was on the terrace talking to someone on the phone.
On the other hand, Apple was silent and stared at Hailee's back as she walked away while touching her cheek. She frowned. She didn't think she had done anything adorable….
After that, she immediately went to look for Pyro who was in his room.
=======================
"What is it?" asked Ramon when he saw his wife approaching him with a worried expression on her face. "Did something happen?"
She didn't know who was talking to him on the phone, but when he saw Hailee's facial expression, he immediately turned off the phone and shifted his focus to Hailee entirely.
"Did something happen?" asked Ramon gently. He pulled Hailee closer, even after decades had passed, the two of them remained unchanged. The interaction between the two of them, the way Ramon looked at his wife or how Hailee felt so comfortable being around her husband, none of them changed.
It was as if they had so much love for each other, that even time never ran out.
"I just received a call from Jayden..." Hailee said in a voice that sounded very uncomfortable. "I think he's on that mission again…"
Hailee didn't need to explain this in more detail, because of course Ramon knew exactly what Hailee meant and what kind of mission Jayden went on, because his son never changed.
He was very ambitious about bringing down the Gevano family.
It was not that Ramon didn't want to help Jayden, it was just that he didn't feel the need to do that when Jayden could do everything himself.
Jayden only came to him for advice, but not once did he ask his father to intervene and he always acted like he could solve the problem himself.
After all, Jayden's obsession and ambition was his own business and Ramon thought it was a good thing to let his son learn how to plan.
However, what he didn't expect was the fact that he stuck to his original plan even after all these years had passed and he never backed down at all.
"Theodore Gevano?" asked Ramon in a cold voice. "He can sort this out himself."
Hailee nodded. "I know." Of course she knew, the two of them kept an eye on the progress of the case between Jayden and his ambition to catch the person who had kidnapped him in the past.
They were also quite surprised to find out that the Gevano family was behind all of this.
But, as Ramon had said earlier, he didn't want to intervene because Jayden didn't ask for his help and because this was his own problem.
"But, I'm worried, somehow I feel uneasy," said Hailee, she then raised her head and looked at Ramon deeply. "What if something happened to him? Maybe it's just me worrying too much since I just found out that we're going to have a grandchild, but, still…"
Ramon then pulled Hailee's body closer to him and hugged her. "Don't worry, I'll take care of that bratty kid," said Ramon in a serious tone, but it made Hailee laugh.
"That bratty boy is your son too," she said in a cheerful voice.
"Well, it's a shame..." Ramon muttered which made Hailee laugh even more cheerfully.
Ramon rarely showed his true emotions, but he always said everything honestly.
And when he said that Jayden was a bad boy, of course he was. Jayden was a very naughty child when he was a teenager and this sometimes made even Ramon frown in the face of his children's behavior.
But, when Jayden or Alina did something well, then Ramon wouldn't hesitate to praise them, even if it was just a short word. Just because they couldn't get it every day, it made both of them work even harder to get a compliment from him.
"You don't have to worry," said Ramon in a low voice, gently stroking Hailee's head.
========================
After dinner at Apple's house, Ramon and Hailee returned to the Tordoff residence which left all the maids there surprised. They immediately cleaned up their room for them.
And after Hailee fell asleep soundly, Ramon opened his eyes and carefully got out of bed so as not to wake his wife before changing his clothes swiftly yet quietly.
After he had changed his clothes, Ramon slowly came out of the room, but before that, he made sure that Hailee was still fast asleep.
In such an exhausted state, Hailee usually wouldn't wake up for the next few hours, therefore, Ramon could do what he was intending to do.
Once out of the room, he took out his cell phone and called someone. "Richard?" called Ramon when the person on the other end of the line had picked up the call. "I want you to do something for me."
