Just when Suzy was planning to get off the stage, the female host stopped her before she could even take a step. With an excited and curios glint, she asked: "Miss Suzy, since you're already here, can you please sing a song?"
Hearing this, many audiences also looked at Suzy curiously…hoping that she would sing a line.
Below the stage, hearing the female host's words, Kim tan frowned. It was apparently clear for him that someone must have ordered the female hosts to make things difficult for Suzy but the female host was unaware and was just doing her duty.
Signaling his assistant, he whispered something to his ears and instructed the assistant about something and after that, the assistant promptly left the stage.
Not far away from where Kim tan was sitting, Xiya Ruya smiled coldly and thought 'Sorry Suzy but its not my fault. Don't worry, this is just the beginning….there more to come heh'
Seeing that many people were looking at her expectantly not to ignore the male host, Suzy was left in dilemma.
Seeing that Suzy was struck to make a decision, the female host decided to persuade Suzy " Miss Suzy, even one line is enough. So, please…"
The male host, as well as the young male, also looked at Suzy with stars in their eyes. Helpless, Suzy could only accept reluctantly.
Raising the mike, she looked at the audience with a smile and said "Please forgive me If I sound horrible"
Hearing Suzy's humorous words, few of the audience laughed.
Clearing her throat, she lifted the mic high and looked at the audience. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and the next moment, a sweet and pleasant voice was heard throughout the hall…
"Lost in the darkness, dejected and downcast….was forced to swallow grass snakes and pay the duck.
The words incompetent and lowly kept ringing in my ears but I never stopped.
Looking at the dark sky, seeing the dark clouds, I hoped that one day…..I would be the star that escaped from the darkness…
Can I be the greatest? Can I be the best?
The question kept playing but I never decided to rest.
Waking up in the morning, hoping to see the light…
I went out of my nest, hoping to increase a step.
Walking on shattered glasses, feeling the numbing pain,
Tears dripping down my eyes, I kept chanting in my mind that…
I'm gonna make it and I'm gonna break it…
I'm gonna beat them and I'm gonna face it…
I'm never gonna stop until I reach my goal…
No one can never stop me, from reaching my destiny...
Holding my heart in my hand, I kept looking for the faint light...
Dreaming to be a little star while carrying heavy bars…
Ignoring the pain that pricked my heart,
I went in search of my little star….
Walking forward with fiery eyes to reach my destiny,
Looking up at my little star, that stood far very high…
Sweeping through all the weeds, to pave a shiny path…
Dusting of the cold 'mares with only the warm air's…
I walked, I ran and crawled and rolled….
I swam and I flew but never stopped to advance my goal.
Standing at the end of the cave, looking at the shining light,
Hearing to those pleasing applause and also those wide smiles…
Hiding my hardships deep my bones, I waved with a cheerful smile...
Seeing the light with teary eyes, forgetting the darkness of my past.
I did it and did it and I'm never gonna regret it.
I made it and made it and I'm never gonna stop achieving…
Looking at that little stars, tears rolled down my eyes…
Happiness evident on my face, forgetting all my sad case…
Standing up high, seeing my dreams come true…
My little heart finally calmed and smiled while saying…
'You did it….you ..made it'
After singing the song, Suzy finally raised her head and looked at the audience with mixed emotions.
The entire hall was as silent as an ocean, calm and quiet.
None of them dared to make any sound afraid to disturb the rare silence. Quite some time passed before someone among the audience stood up and started to clap loudly waking up everyone from their daze. One by one they stood and started to clap. The whole hall reverberated with loud applause and whistles. Tears rolled down from many of their eyes and happiness was clearly evident on their faces.
The female host herself could not help but tear up on the stage after recalling the hardship she went through to reach the current stage.
Seeing the audience's reaction, Suzy felt proud and bowed to everyone. Looking at many of their teary faces, Suzy thought 'Mom, Do you remember? I promised that I would one day sing your song in front of everyone and..I have finally fulfilled my promise. Mom, are you happy now?'
Finally calming their emotions, the audience sat back on their respected seats and the female host by now had composed her emotions. Looking at Suzy with a new light she bowed down before saying "Miss Suzy, thank you…thank you very much. At this moment, I truly don't have any words to describe how I feel and I believe others also feel the same. Thank you, thank you very much"
With a smile, Suzy replied politely "It was my honor to sing on this prestigious stage"
"Miss Suzy, if you don't mind can I ask you a question?"
"Yes please"
"I have never heard of this song anywhere and I'm very sure that none of us here is familiar with this song so I'm curious…..who is that great person who created such an outstanding song?"
"The creator of this song is…My Mom. She liked to write songs and eventually wrote a few songs. Whenever I was hurt or struck in a situation, she would sing me a song to motivate me and this song had always been one of my favorites. After my mother passed away, when I was facing a problem and when I had no one beside me, I used to sing this song and because of this song, I'm standing here today in front of everyone"
After hearing Suzy's words, a few people were surprised and many were touched. With another round of applause, both the host's thanked her once again before escorting her down the stage.
Only when Suzy descended did Kim tan finally turned off the recording. He was happy but at the same time, he frowned when he felt that this song was oddly familiar.
Seeing that the curse turned into a blessing for Suzy, Xiya Ruya gritted her teeth in rage.
'Suzy, I'm not going to leave you'
