Chapter 314 - Are you afraid of breaking your bones?

The next day, looking fresh and energetic as soon as Suzy walked inside the Li corporation, the first thing she noticed was the breaking news that was shown on the large tv screen in the reception hall.

It was said that early morning when a middle-aged man walked to the riverside to fetch some water, he found a dead body wrapped in layers of translucent cover and iron fence. In the beginning, the man thought that was just a waste dumped at the riverside but when he saw traces of blood on the surface, he was uncertain and scared hence he had hurriedly called the nearby police station to notify them. Not long after, when the police and forensic department unwrapped the package, they found the dead body of a young girl whose face and body was n.a.k.e.d and disfigured. Because it was too hard to recognize the face, the police officer decided to bring the body for a test before continuing further investigation.

The police and the media speculated that the young girl was most probably kidnapped and r.a.p.ed by a gang and when they were done with the deed, they had discarded the body at the bank of the river.

For some reason, when Suzy looked at the dead body and the news she felt that things were not as simpled as they were.

But still, since it was none of her business, she did not think much. At some times Suzy could be really cruel and since she did not who and what kind of person was that girl she did not show her any pity.

Ignoring the news, she walked towards the elevator and headed upstairs.

The people in the reception hall also failed to notice Suzy's arrival since they were all looking at the horrible news early morning.

As soon as Suzy walked to her office the first thing that greeted her was her younger brothers handsome face. But before she could ask about his whereabouts she noticed the hesitation on his face and asked "What's the matter, why do you look troubled? anything wrong?"

Wanting to speak, Luo Shen opened his mouth a few times but no words came out of his mouth. Sighing, he took an envelope from his coat inner pocket and placed it on the table.

Picking up the envelope, she tore it went through the content of the letter. Lifting her head, she looked at Luo Shen with a weird expression and asked: "You want to resign?"

"Yes..."

"But why?"

"That..." after hesitating for a moment, he said "I want to join your organization"

Raising her eyebrows, she asked, "Are you feeling guilty?"

Nodding his head, Luo Shen said: "When I joined the company I only wanted to work hard and show my gratitude but after you took me in as your brother, I promised myself that I will protect you even if it means to give up myself, but..."

"But what? is it because you could not?"

Nodding his head, Luo Shen did not dare to look up at Suzy. After that day, he was drowned in self-blame and could not sleep for a whole week. After thinking for a long time, he decided to resign his job and join the organization so that he could become strong and protect Suzy as a younger brother.

With a faint smile, Suzy did not say anything but tore the resignation letter into pieces.

Startled, when Luo Shen looked up he saw Suzy tearing the resignation letter into pieces and throwing into the dustbin.

"You..that.."

Before Luo Shen could speak, Suzy smiled and said "I disapprove....your resignation letter will not be approved"

"But.." before Luo Shen could speak his mind, Suzy cut him off unhurriedly.

"Shh....don't speak, just listen to me. Luo Shen, I know you want to protect me like a younger brother, but that's not what I want. In fact, you don't even have to it because I can protect myself and i don't need to depend on anyone. I don't expect your protection but only warmth. After losing my mother at the age of ten, I rarely experienced family love and warmth. When I met you, for some unknown reason I had the urge to take you in as my younger brother but I was afraid that you might misunderstand me. In the hospital, when you were down and upset, I did not want to see you like that and hence I decided to take you under my wings. Luo Shen, remember one thing, I did not take you as my brother to protect me but instead as a younger brother who depends on his sister"

Walking past the table, she patted his head and spoke gently "And, don't forget about your mother, your the only family to her. Once you join the organization you will be assigned to complete missions and sometimes you might even need to put your life to complete the mission and then...what will you do? who will look after your mother?...so, listen to your sister and continue with your work"

After thinking for some time she proposed "Hmmm..how about this, ill arrange a coach to train you. You don't have to join the organization, just follow your schedule and train. how about this?" She asked.

Thinking that Luo Shen might not be convinced she further persuaded "If you go away, who will help me with my work? If all the work is dumbed on my desk, how will I have the time to date my hubby say?"

Hearing Suzy's words, Luo Shen's lips twitched a little but in the end, he could not help but smile and say "Okay...I will continue to work for you and will help you to free some time to...date your boyfriend"

"That's like my brother," Suzy said proudly while patting his back. After speaking a few words with him, Suzy returned back to her desk to start with her work. Just when Luo Shen was about to leave, Suzy asked: "By the way, are you scared of breaking your bones?"

"Huh?" Confused, Luo Shen did not know what to answer.

"Yes or no?"

Thinking for a second, he answered "No..?"

"hmm...that's good. You can leave now"

Bowing his head, he left the office with a confused mind. It wasn't until he started to train did Luo Shen finally understand what did Suzy mean by 'Not afraid of breaking your bones'

Though he regretted saying no, his craving's to get strong still won at the end.
