[T/N: I should just stop making promises. Like, ever :/ ]
Room No. 302 was not a private ward. There was another pregnant man in the room besides Yuan Xia, and he was already nine months along the way. Because his partner was worried about him, he was admitted to the hospital one month in advance for fear of something unexpected happening. Men did not get pregnant like women and had no birth canal to conceive their children naturally, so they could only give birth to children by cesarean section. Eric asked the nurse to arrange Yuan Xia and the other pregnant man in the same ward so that they could share their experiences. When Wang Cheng and Chu Yifeng came to the door of the ward, a woman was standing next to Yuan Xia’s bed, warmly speaking with him.
This woman was Jiang Xuan’s mother. Originally, she didn’t approve of Yuan Xia being with her son, and even bothered them about it. However, ever since she learned that Yuan Xia was willing to do IVF for her son, she had no problem with him. Any trace of disapproval she felt for Yuan Xia turned into joy.
Mother Jiang hadn’t actually been dissatisfied with Yuan Xia. He had a gentle personality and was quite thoughtful, always treating her like his own mother. Though her son sometimes ignored her for work, Yuan Xia always remembered to care for her. There was a reason why she didn’t want her son to be with a man, and it wasn’t because she didn’t like Yuan Xia, but because she thought her son’s bloodline would be extinct in the future. This caused her to have a lump in her heart. This lump lasted until three days ago, when she heard her son say that Yuan Xia was undergoing IVF operation for their Jiang family. After the operation was successful, the lump she felt disappeared completely.
Mother Jiang lost all hope once she heard that her son would have no bloodline, but the two ended up giving her such a big surprise. Since then, Mother Jiang accepted Yuan Xia from the bottom of her heart.
Mother Jiang had been hanging around Yuan Xia’s bed since yesterday. She continuously asked him how he was doing, and not only did she ask the doctor what he needed to pay attention to during pregnancy, but she also made him all three meals and brought them to the hospital, saying that outside food was unhygienic. She was even more concerned about him than Jiang Xuan was.
"Yuan Xia, what do you want to eat this afternoon? Your mother will cook it for you," Mother Jiang stared at him lovingly.
Yuan Xia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. When he saw Wang Cheng, he acted as if he’d seen his savior. "Mother, my friend has come to visit. You can decide what’s for lunch, I'm not picky."
"Alright. Don't let yourself get too tired, you are pregnant now. If you don't rest well, it might affect the child in your belly. Anyway, I will leave now." Mother Jiang gave a few words of advice before leaving.
Yuan Xia saw Wang Cheng's teasing expression and explained: "My mother is just too concerned. Now that she is looking forward to meeting her grandchild, she has become so enthusiastic.”
"It's a good thing to have elders caring for you, there are others who wish for the same thing." Wang Cheng sat next to the bed. Yuan Xia himself probably didn't realize that his own expression was very happy now, and Wang Cheng was also happy for him.
