Wang Cheng didn't care what Mary thought of his words.

After leaving Duke Auston's mansion, he and Chu Yifeng took the Duke's private jet back to Italy. Emily wanted to stay in the UK for a couple more days to meet an old friend she hadn't seen in a long time. They later heard some news about Mary from Mama Emily.

When Sophie heard that they were back, she came the next day and pestered Wang Cheng for details about the wedding banquet. After all, Sophie was still a teenage girl. Although she said she wanted to be like Mama Emily, she actually had girlish longings: wonderful fantasies about her future wedding and her other half.

After a few days of rest, Wang Cheng got back into the groove of things. He lived and commuted to and from work every day with Chu Yifeng, as if they were an old couple.

Old Locke still liked to keep a straight face around him, but he would include Wang Cheng in important matters.

During this leisurely time, Wang Cheng also met other members of the Eimer family and learned some Eimer family history.

The Eimer family was originally a big family, but when it reached Old Locke’s generation, the family members became fewer and fewer. Now, though their family was another such family business empire, they didn’t have much infighting, unlike their peers. That was because they had too few family members. Even if a few from the extended families were qualified to be heirs, their talents were not enough to provoke the Eimer Group.

Old Locke had a brother. The brothers had once turned against each other to inherit the Eimer family, provoked by their father's illegitimate son. This competition continued on to the point of no rest. Later on, the brother lost the battle; the illegitimate son died, and the brother was expelled. The brother later on became addicted to drugs, causing him to be infertile. He died many years ago, leaving no bloodline behind.

But the illegitimate son, Old Locke later found, had an illegitimate son of his own. He suffered from the pain of being an illegitimate child, and finally passed this pain onto his next generation.
