With a face full of disbelief, Ah Zhao lowered his voice, “That’s indeed Film Empress Liang Yin? Why is she here?”
He naturally recognized Liang Yin.
He had deliberately found out more about Liang Yin. As Zhou Jianchen’s assistant, there were some matters that he was bound to keep abreast and Liang Yin was the inevitable entity.
It was said that Film Empress Liang was the only actress that Brother Chen had publicly liked for many years, the one that was made known as ‘liked’ and not publicly ‘admired’. There are a few actresses that Brother Chen ‘admired’ and ‘respected’ throughout these years, yet there was only one ‘liked’.
Moreover, Brother Chen had once pursued Film Empress Liang for a period of time.
Film Empress Liang, however, had not responded at all.
Ah Zhao was somewhat in doubt when he first heard about this gossip from the senior colleagues. How could such a prideful person like Brother Chen actively pursue others and what was the possibility for an outstanding person like him to fail in his pursuit even when he had taken the initiative, but after a profound understanding later, he realized that this matter was truly unfounded.
That was five or six years ago. Brother Chen was already very successful at that time and had long acclaimed the Film Emperor, best actor and several special honorary awards. Then one day, he suddenly shared a photo of himself with an actress on his personal Weibo, which immediately caused a huge uproar.
Brother Chen had collaborated with many actresses before and prompted innumerable rumors, but he had never acknowledged any of them and not to mention about posting any group photos on Weibo. At that time, he was still passionate about Weibo and would share countless posts every day.
The actress in that photo had a reserved smile but Brother Chen was smiling happily beside her.
Attached with the photo was the text: A photo with the Goddess. Like her movies very much.
That Weibo was deleted quite swiftly but many had screenshot and talked about it widely. Among the discussions was the identity of the actress who was precisely the newly conferred Film Empress – Liang Yin.
Liang Yin was 21 at that time and had just acted in two films. As she was low-key and those were literary films while the Film Empress award was consequently won from abroad, she was not widely known.
The reason for the Weibo deletion was enthralling. The matter was claimed to have involved the confidentiality of a movie that both Zhou Jianchen and Liang Yin would jointly co-starred in. Brother Chen didn’t respond to this matter and the other party involved, Film Empress Liang did not have any Weibo account nor participated in any interviews, so the outcome of the matter was even more unknown.
The matter seemed to have been settled with an official explanation, however some people had eventually saved it until a year later when another photo was shared and the matter was brought up again.
It was a presentation of a public welfare award where Film Empress Liang attended this occasion for the first time. Coincidentally, the organizer at that time had arranged for Brother Chen to sit one seat away on her left. In the photo, Liang Yin dressed in a white skirt was sitting erectly applauding the performance on stage and similarly on the left was Brother Chen dressed in a well-ironed black suit facing to the right, he gazed at Film Empress Liang’s face with a smile. His eyes were bright as the stars and gentle like the water.
As soon as the photo was uploaded, everyone could see the inkling. Zhou Jianchen has the existence of a young master in the entertainment industry, hence when has he ever looked at someone with such a gaze? This had never been seen before, not even in his movies or dramas. Therefore, everyone began to speculate what was there between Zhou Jianchen and Film Empress Liang. Once they recalled the photo from last year, the question seemingly became clear since the movie had been released and both of them were merely co-starring without any screen-time together.
It was reported that Film Empress Rong Xin was originally arranged to sit in between them. However, not knowing what had transpired, Film Empress Rong eventually took a seat next to Zhou Jianchen instead.
Some people speculated that Zhou Jianchen must have taken care of it in advance and Film Empress Rong aided in fulfilling his wishes. Who in the entertainment circle did not know the earnest affections both Film Empress Rong and Brother Chen have for each other.
Those who were interested began looking for clues. As Film Empress Liang was extremely low profile, they naturally were unable to start from her and could only focus their target on Zhou Jianchen. As expected, they ultimately found some inkling on Brother Chen’s Weibo.
Before the two of them had any collaboration, Film Empress Liang had actually appeared constantly on Brother Chen’s Weibo as early as a year or so before. The posts that Brother Chen forwarded seemingly to help promote those movies like sharing what others were talking about. In the end, there were hints of Film Empress Liang in all of those posts. Just like the many promotional posters that were shared on Weibo, he would only pick the one that displayed Film Empress Liang. The Weibo he posted had ultimately reached the peak during their co-starring in the movie. Though there seemed nothing out of the ordinary with the words and photos he uploaded, there, however, were profound meanings when one was to discern them carefully.
Someone also simultaneously reported that Zhou Jianchen would frequently visit the production team when Film Empress was present at the movie set. Furthermore, some had even witnessed Zhou Jianchen personally drive Liang Yin back to the hotel….
Rumors were scrambling around but no one knew if it were true or false. There were skeptics, affirmation and numerous others.
Until one day when Brother Chen took part in an interview.
The reporter asked: Mr. Zhou, do you have an actress whom you like?
Brother Chen smilingly replied: Yes, Liang Yin.
His answer was natural and at ease which was free from any inhibitions that stunned everyone.
The lady’s side however had always remained silent.
It was not until three days later when Film Empress Liang was finally stopped by reporters at the entrance of a movie conference.
The reporter made a detailed inquiry: Miss Liang, do you have anything to say about Zhou Jianchen’s confession to you?
After a few seconds of silence, Film Empress Liang replied: “He is a very outstanding actor.”
A very outstanding actor. That’s all.
One after another questions followed by replies that seemingly revealed all the answers, except it was different from everyone’s speculation. It seemed this sentiment was merely Zhou Jianchen’s wishful thinking that all began from his unrequited love which ended with Film Empress Liang’s polite rejection.
After that event, Brother Chen’s public relations team immediately dealt with the situation for the first time. They didn’t deny nor defame those rumors but contrary, they admitted Brother Chen’s fondness of Film Empress Liang and claimed Zhou Jianchen was a fan who especially loved and admired Film Empress Liang’s performances. They also expressed their deepest apologies for the troubles created presently. In addition, they also hope to have more collaboration in the future and all the statements conclude with the love of a ‘fan’ towards his ‘idol’.
His public relations team was eloquent. As Zhou Jianchen was used to being impulsive, hence everything had its new explanation.
With the dilution of time, everyone seemed to believe these statements. At that time, Liang Yin was already well-known by virtue thanks to her third movie and her outstanding acting skills; after all, no one had ever heard of Zhou Jianchen taking the initiative to pursue anyone in all these years.
Except there were still people who resented Liang Yin’s reply. Although this was just a misunderstanding, you shouldn’t have rejected him so mercilessly and Brother Chen was more than worthily matched to her, and Film Empress Liang thought too highly of herself.
Not only were Brother Chen’s obsessive fans had this in mind, even those groups of people around him had the same opinion.
