Why did I have to be on duty with her the day after what happened?

I’m on day duty with her.

That’s crazy.

Now all I have to do is clean up this blackboard and deliver the journal to the office, and I can go home.

Patience. I should be home by now.

“You. Why have you been absent all this time? I don’t blame you for taking a break, I’m simply curious. That’s a pretty long time..”

Karen.

She’s been asking me a lot of questions since a while ago.

We were alone in an empty classroom, and she was asking me questions from a closer distance than necessary.

I’m not sure why, but this fair-skinned gal is not taking her eyes off of me.

“Well, there are various things.”

Anyway, I’m not going to give any more of my story away, as she might expect.

I don’t intend to, but something is obviously wrong.

To tell you the truth, Karen and I were in the same class last year, but we hardly talked to each other.

Or rather, there was almost nothing to talk about.

And yet, here we are today.

I knew it was because of yesterday’s accident

No, that’s all I can think of.

Unfortunately.

“Then what made you decide to come to school again? There must have been a reason, right?”

“No, not really. If I had to say, I would say that I have to come back soon or I’ll be repeating the year in school.”

“I don’t think that’s your reason.”

“Is it?”

Okay, I guess it is not.

But please just stop. Stop it. That squinty-eyed gesture.

I know it’s suspicious, but don’t do that.

“For now, I’m sorry. Otsuka. I’ve got to get out of here soon.”

“Hm? What’s going on?”

“Uh, there are various things. Ah, I’ll deliver the journal to the teacher’s office.”

Recently I’ve learned that it’s definitely better to end a question with a few words than to tell a bad lie.

For some reason, she didn’t say anything about what happened at the cafe yesterday, which I thought she might ask me the most, and I want to go home soon anyway before I make a blunder.

Karen has a very good intuition, even if it’s just a good intuition.

I don’t think she’ll find out that we switched bodies, but it’s not too much to say that this situation is already a yellow card for me.

I should be aware of that, otherwise anything can really happen.

I need to be cautious.

Yesterday’s incident was really a bit unexpected

But what is it? I thought I saw her eyebrows twitch again just now.

No, maybe I’m imagining it.

What is the problem?

“Sigh, okay, thanks.”

“No, don’t mind it.”

And then Karen, lets me go home easier than I thought she would.

To be honest, I can’t quite grasp the rhythm of the conversation.

I don’t remember Karen like this. Hmm?

“Ah, no. I’ll take it. I have to go to the staff room. I’ll lock the door, so you can go home first.”

“Uh, is that okay?”

“Yeah. Actually, I still have some things I want to do in the classroom. I’m going to the teacher’s office for now, so can you just take my bag with my valuables in it? “

Something you want to do? It’s okay if you’ll just let me go.

“Okay. So, which bag has your valuables in it? “

I see two bags in front of me.

“Uh, that one. The one you bought me when I went to Osaka.”

Oh, this one.

So, Karen. You still use this one.

I think I bought it with the money I had saved up from my part-time job when we went to Osaka on a date for Karen’s birthday.

Uh, wait…?

“W-which one? Osaka? I don’t know. “

Ohh, that was close.

Seriously, you’re kidding me.

And then I look at her, and there she is, staring at me with a very grim expression on her face.

Now she stares at me silently.

“No, which is it? I really don’t know. Osaka? “

This is hard to believe, but Karen is actually trying to guess something…

“This one.”

At any rate, with those words, I picked up the bag to which she pointed and handed it to her.

As soon as she received it, she quietly left the classroom.

She gave me an indescribable look while she left the classroom.

This is probably…Not good?

But in case you’re wondering, I didn’t expose anything this time…Right?

No, but really….
