Chapter 320 Try Once More At Lewis Hospital, Country B
After 'examining' Cain, Dr. Calvin informed Kimmy, Leila, and Daniel about his diagnosis. He confirmed it as selective amnesia. He explained that during the accident, Cain bumped his head in the windshield.
Dr. Calvin felt guilty as he couldn't look straight to Kimmy. In his mind, he blamed Cain for acting childishly and faking his amnesia. This was not a good prank.
So to comfort Kimmy a little, he just emphasized that his amnesia might only be temporary. Cain rested the whole day and his father stayed with him, including Kimmy and her mother
Since Cain was no longer in danger, Kimmy requested her mother to just go home together with Daniel after they all finished eating dinner inside Cain's room. She will be the one to take care of Cain.
When they were left alone in the ward, the atmosphere became silent. He thought Kimmy would feel awkward to approach him since he pretended not to know her. But to his surprise, Kimmy sat down beside him with a faint smile on her face.
"You should eat first. I will peel this fruit for you." Kimmy said, holding the apple and a knife in her hands.
Her mother brought assorted fruits when she dropped by to check on them after sending Daniel back home.
Kimmy was very attentive to him. She was peeling the apple and at the same time feeding Cain as she didn't let him use his hand.
Cain's lips twitched, fighting a smile. He was enjoying this special treatment from Kimmy.
Kimmy paused for a moment, just staring at Cain intently. He became uneasy under her probing eyes. He looked away, trying to avoid eye contact with her. 'Did she see through my lies? Why is she looking at me like this?'
After a few seconds, Cain just felt her fingers brushing the corner of his lips. Cain's heart skipped a beat when Kimmy touched his lips, wiping the moist on his skin.
With his panicking mode, Cain suddenly blurted out, "I'm sorry…"
Kimmy looked at him with confusion. "Sorry about what?"
Cain was not supposed to say that but it came out of his mouth when he got nervous. Kimmy's closeness and the way she was taking care of him right now touched his heart.
He had the urge to pull her and hug her but he resisted the temptation as he was faking his amnesia. He couldn't blow his cover now.
He was enjoying this special treatment from Kimmy. He wanted to take this opportunity and savor the moment as Kimmy pampered him.
"I'm sorry for forgetting you…" he said, responding to Kimmy's question.
Kimmy just smiled lovingly at him. "It's okay. I think I deserve it… I made a mistake in the past… I hurt you."
Though Kimmy was smiling, there was a gleam of sadness and regret in her eyes. But she didn't want to show it. She tried to be cheerful.
"It doesn't matter! We can just create new memories together!" She said before pouncing on him, hugging him tightly.
Cain swallowed hard when he felt her soft body against his. This was a great torture to him. He wanted to pull her closer but he was afraid that Kimmy would realize his scheme. He had to control and restrain himself.
"Why? Why are you doing this?" Cain asked her, feigning ignorance of their current relationship.
"Because I am your woman… I'm your fiancé! Your future wife!" Kimmy declared to him, sinking further into his body as she leaned her head on his chest. "And you are my man!" She added, making Cain speechless.
Kimmy's words resounded in his ears like a pleasant melody, making his heart pound so hard. He felt blissful hearing those words from Kimmy. It seemed like he misjudged her and overreacted when he didn't see the ring on her finger.
'Yes… You are my woman… my wife-to-be. This time I will not let you run away from me. If I have to stick with you 24 hours before the wedding, I'll do that. I want to make sure you will not change your mind.'
Kimmy could hear the loud beating of his heart. She couldn't help but smile. 'Even though your mind had forgotten me, your heart can still remember me.'
Cain could only sigh helplessly. His hand began to move, rubbing her back and stroking her hair.
"Since you told me that you are my woman, is it okay to touch and hug you like this?" Cain asked her in his plain tone, hiding his excitement and yearning.
"Of course, you can!" Kimmy promptly responded. "You can even kiss me…" She blatantly said.
Cain: "..."
'Damn. How can I continue pretending if Kimberly is tempting me like this,' Cain lamented to himself.
"Are you sure about that?" Cain asked her plainly, concealing his desire.
Kimmy raised her head to look at him. She flashed her mischievous smile before nodding her head.
"Yes! We never know… your mind might have forgotten me… but your body–"
Kimmy was not able to finish her words when Cain lifted her chin as he bent down to claim her lips. He was not able to resist her. It hasn't been that long but he already missed her.
He wondered how long he could pretend that he had amnesia. If Kimmy would continue to act like this, it's just a matter of time, and Cain would finally give in and blow his cover.
Meanwhile, Kimmy was surprised that Cain initiated to kiss her. Maybe it was because she told him to do so. She didn't suspect him at all.
The two kissed each other passionately. No one wanted to let go. But they had no choice. They had to part to gasp some air.
They stared at each other for a long moment, panting heavily.
"Please don't get the wrong idea. I just want to try and test if my body will remember you," Cain explained right away with his unreadable expression.
Kimmy just nodded her head, looking at him expectantly. "So? How is it?"
"Hmm. I think… We need to try once more!" Cain said shamelessly.
Kimmy: "..."
Without waiting for her response, Cain once again covered her lips with his mouth, kissing her.
