Chapter 325 Behave Well Cain and Kimmy went down and joined their father in the dining room for dinner. Kimmy also took this time to announce the good news to Father Daniel. She knew how happy Cain's father would be now that she finally decided to accept his son's marriage proposal, which she had been planning to do the night when Cain had an accident.
"Father, Cain and I are getting married. I plan to have it after my cousin's wedding, our King Gavin. Of course, with your approval and my mother's as well."
Daniel's eyes widened in shock, but a wide smile crept into his face as he said, "Oh God, that's excellent news. I didn't expect it this soon, but I'm so glad. Congratulations, you both! You also don't need my approval on the date because I definitely agree on whatever you two decide!"
"Thank you, father," Cain said with a grin.
"Father?" Kimmy asked when tears suddenly rolled down Daniel's eyes. He couldn't help the emotions overwhelming him at that point. They were tears of joy for his son who could finally have his happiness after all those lonely years he had. Cain… His son deserved this, and he was glad that his prayer was answered this soon.
Kimmy stood up and quickly walked to Cain's side. On bended knee, she held Daniel's hand and slightly squeezed it, "Father…"
Daniel looked at her and whispered, "Thank you so much, dear. Please, take good care of my son…"
Kimmy's eyes welled up with tears as well as she whispered, "Yes, I will. Thank you also for being patient with me and helping me overcome my fears. Thank you for treating me so well and taking care of me like I'm already part of the family. You and Cain are my family, and will always be."
"What is this… I feel like I'm left behind here," Cain complained, making Kimmy and Daniel chuckle.
Daniel pulled Kimmy up and signaled her to go back to her seat, which Kimmy did.
"I'm sure your mother will be on cloud nine once she hears the news!" Daniel commented as soon as he composed himself, wiping the remaining tears off his cheeks.
"Yes, indeed. I plan to tell her about it tomorrow. Right now, she's too busy arranging the Royal wedding since it will be next week already."
"And she will be swamped again, arranging another Royal wedding for her daughter next!" Daniel seconded and Kimmy's face reddened.
Cain was a bit quiet as they began eating dinner. He just listened to his father and Kimmy's conversation most of the time during dinner. He was still on cloud nine, so he could not be bothered to talk and just spent most of his time staring at Kimmy while chewing on his food.
Noticing how Cain was staring, with a blush on her face, Kimmy elbowed him and whispered, "Stop that and focus on your food."
"I can't help it. I feel like I'm still in cloud nine even at this point. It feels like a dream where I don't want to wake up," Cain voiced out, not bothering that his father would hear it.
Daniel laughed, "Son, you're a hopeless romantic as always. It's been a while since I witnessed you being like that."
"Father, I'm just glad that Kimmy finally realized she too wanted me in her life for the rest of her life."
Kimmy's face turned deep red in embarrassment that she gave Cain a glare to stop. Cain only winked at her and even lovingly caressed her cheek.
"I am sick right now, so you should be good to me," Cain mumbled like a child, and Daniel shook his head at how petty his son was acting. But then, he couldn't blame his son since he was a man deeply in love.
After a hearty dinner, Daniel decided to rest early so he could also leave the two lovebirds to have time together alone.
"Do you wanna walk outside?" Kimmy purposely asked while she walked with Cain hand in hand from the dining area.
Cain had a pout as he murmured, "I rather we go up in our bedroom and continue where we left off. Why would I want to waste my energy walking around the garden in this cold weather? Let's have each other's warmth inside the bedroom, Kimberly. Shall we?"
Kimmy chuckled, "Alright, fine. Let's do that. But I'm a bit worried about your health since technically you're still recuperating, right? We mustn't forget about your condition."
Cain stopped walking. He turned at Kimmy with narrowed eyes as he scoffed, "Are you questioning my vitality and vigor?"
Kimmy tried her best not to laugh out hard, but it was really hard not to. She let out a suppressed giggle.
"Stop that," Cain scolded. Kimmy stopped giggling and pursed her lips.
With a grin, she opened her mouth to speak again, "You're a doctor, so you, at most, knew that it would take you seven to fourteen days recovery, right? So you must refrain from any physical activities till then. And we must not forget about that. You had a concussion, Cain."
"I'll be fine in three days, Kimberly. Don't you dare give me that excuse. Come on now and let's go up! I will show you how perfectly fine I am. I will definitely make you scream my name and ask for more," Cain bragged.
Kimmy squeezed Cain's hand, "Ah, alright, fine. You can show it all you want after ten days, Dr. Cain Lewis. I just want you fully healed, alright? So until then, the two of us must behave well. You can make me scream after you're fully recovered. Meanwhile, consider these days of abstinence as your punishment for lying to me."
"Are you kidding me?!" Cain whined.
Kimmy stared at him, and with a serious face, mumbled, "I'm not kidding you. And I'm definitely serious. We will do that for your own good, so stop arguing with me now and behave well, okay?!"
