'It's just our opinion on the matter, Cain. The decision is still up to you based on the observation of your body. But once you crave blood or have the urge to bite Kimmy, then please be responsible enough to get away from her. It's more than enough for me to be the only one cursed in this family, and I really do hope that you won't drag Kimmy into this. There are currently people searching for the woman who turned me into this. They strongly believe that the curse would be lifted once she dies from a special dagger. So until then… let's make sure that Kimmy is safe. I beg you.'
Those words from Cedric deeply pierced Cain's heart that he ended up slumping helplessly in the hallway as he walked towards Brione's office where Kimmy was. He was struggling to take everything in, and he honestly felt like he was being suffocated by his own feelings. As such, he quickly walked out from Cedric's suffocating and forbidden wing of secrets.
Sitting by the walls, it was there that Will saw him, the latter quickly rushing towards him and pulling him up.
"Hey, get up. Come and let's sit on the bench at the open courtyard for a while and get some air," Will suggested as he helped Cain back on his feet.
Will could relate and understand what the doctor was going through at that time, and he really did feel bad for him. However, he still believed that Cain deserved to know the truth as early as possible, a fact that Cedric obviously tried so hard to keep until he managed to discover him in the CCTV footage. Cedric said that he was personally and closely monitoring Cain from the shadows.
'That bastard… And now, as lazy as he was, he's obviously agreeing with Gavin so that he doesn't need to check on Cain anymore!' Will silently growled.
"What if they didn't find that woman, Will? That only means that I need to stay away from Kimmy for good…" Cain helplessly murmured, interrupting Will from his own predicament.
Will let out a frustrated sigh and sat beside Cain. "Damn… Until now, I still really can't believe that those creatures existed without us knowing…" he sighed with a frown.
"And now we know. I can't even blame Cedric for this, knowing and remembering how I desperately begged him to save me by any means. I literally didn't let him go that night, Will. While I was gasping for air and trying to keep myself alive, deep inside, I could feel that I was losing it." Cain let out a deep breath as he recounted, "If Cedric didn't save me that night, then I probably wouldn't be here right now. I'm sure I'd already be six feet under, and I wouldn't be experiencing the happiness that I'm having right now with Kimberly."
If Cedric hadn't saved him that night, then he would die not knowing how Kimmy loved him enough to conquer her fears in marrying him, braving the risks with him in regards to what the future may hold as long as they were together to work things out as a family.
"Yeah, I know. It was probably a hard decision on Cedric's part as well, but he probably saw how desperate you are that he granted your dying wish regardless of the consequences of it afterward," Will voiced out his opinion with a deep sigh. He patted Cain's shoulders and comforted him by saying, "It's just a suggestion once you feel something alarming in your body, Cain. So far, you're doing great, right? Who knows? It might only have some positive reaction in your body?" He chuckled, "We can only hope that's the case. You know how overprotective Cedric could be for Kimmy since she's like his sister already, with the two of them growing up together. For now, let's just observe some more, Cain. Observe yourself more… No need to stay away from Kimmy this soon."
Cain's shoulders dropped, wondering what he did in a past life to have this kind of a joke situation in his life.
"I have to go now. Will you be okay here? Or do you want me to call Kimmy so she could come here instead?" Will asked.
"I'm good, Will. You can leave me…" Cain helplessly smiled. "I'll meet Kimmy soon. It's just that I need a bit more time to process everything properly."
Will left soon after. Giving himself a generous amount of time, Cain managed to compose and gather himself enough to act normal again, standing up from the chair as he got back on his feet to go meet Kimmy. Reaching the room, he quietly opened the door. Immediately, he heard Kimmy's voice and laughter while she was talking to Brione and her mother.
"Ah, I bet Aunty will make your wedding so perfect and glamorous!" Brione commented.
Kimmy had a bashful smile as she answered, "I really don't need something grand. Just getting married to Cain is more than enough for me." She waved the offer away with an embarrassed chuckle, "Honestly, a simple one will honestly do. I just want to be his legal wife."
"My, look at how my daughter has grown up from being a stubborn brat into a woman deeply in love!" her mother teased with a proud smile on her face. "You finally found the love of your life!"
Turning around as she heard the door, Brione saw Cain from a distance as she said, "And speaking of the man of her dreams, here comes the future groom."

Hearing Brione announced his arrival, Cain tried his best to put on a bright smile as he greeted everyone and walked towards Kimmy's way. He was tightly controlling his emotions, looking at Kimmy's beautiful face who was giving him her sweetest smile.
"The meeting's finished?" Kimmy asked.
"Yeah. Gavin just discussed a few changes he wanted once I come back to the palace as the Royal family's head physician…" Cain vaguely stated, maintaining the fake smile on his face.
Not noticing his distress, Kimmy grabbed his hand and clasped their fingers together as she smiled, "Hmm… Then I guess we can leave and go on a day date now while we're outside."
"Of course, where do you want to go?" Cain asked with a smile while staring at his hand that Kimmy held tightly. He would do everything to make everything work. He was sure that there was always a way into everything. He made this far and even cheated death just to be with Kimmy so he would not let things end badly for the two of them.
Kimmy looked at the two women before her and hummed, "I guess we should leave first."
Kissing her mother and hugging Brione, she then quickly pulled Cain outside, hugging him by the arm as she began monopolizing her time with him.
"Where to, my Princess?" Cain asked.
"How about we go to watch a movie? The movie I was waiting for to release is now showing…" Kimmy suggested.
"Alright. Let's watch that then." Cain nodded before asking, "By the way, what type of movies do you want to watch?"
"Any type, really, but I particularly love to watch supernatural stuff like vampires and werewolves. That kind of stuff…"
