Chapter 377 A Good Vacation

Name:Kiss Me Not Author:
After all was said and done, the group of Kimmy, Cain, Sean, and Leila remained in country V for at least one more week. In the time since they used their time together in some sort of makeshift vacation before they went back home.

"This is the life, huh," Cain sighed in contentment, Kimmy hugging him by the arm as they walked along the nearby park. "We should technically be on our honeymoon right now, but a small vacation before going back is more appropriate, yes?"

"Yep," Kimmy chuckled. "Besides, Mom and Uncle Sean are enjoying themselves at the moment."

Taking a glance behind them, the couple saw their two other companions enjoying each other's company. Uncle Sean seemed to be giving Leila an ice cream cone, the latter thanking him for his kind gesture before they sat on the nearby bench.

"You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say they're dating," Cain chuckled to his new wife. "Assuming that hasn't happened yet though."

"No, it hasn't," Kimmy shook her head in exasperation. "I already gave Uncle Sean my blessing too. But I guess he's just taking his time wooing Mom."

"I'll say," her husband mirthfully smiled as they watched from the sidelines. "Look at him. As much as I respect him, he looks like he doesn't even want to get out of the friendzone."

"That's just his style, I guess," Kimmy frowned, taking out a bit of her impatience at her husband as she hugged him tighter. "Still, I'll respect his methods."

"You sound like you want to criticize said methods though," Cain chuckled, placing a hand on Kimmy's back and giving her a soothing rub. "Anything of note you want to say?"

Kimmy let off a sigh as she admitted, "Well, I just think their romance is going way too slow. Mom's not getting any younger, and the same could be said for Uncle Sean…"

"That's just life though, isn't it?" he sagely nodded. "What's wrong with taking their time? I know we both did exactly that at times."

"At times," Kimmy repeated with a condescending tone. "Dear, we were practically screwing each other's brains out as soon as we got together. That's not exactly the 'taking our time' now, is it?"

"Fair point," Cain hummed. "Still, are we just gonna watch your Mom be all lovey-dovey with him?"

At his question, Kimmy let off a mischievous smirk. "Well, what else are we supposed to do? It's not like we have a lot of things here left to do. We have to go back home around tomorrow night."

"Okay then. I guess we'll be spying on Mom's love escapades," Cain chuckled in resignation.

"That's the spirit," she sniggered. "Come on. Let's go sit on a bench all sneaky-like."

Dragging her husband along with her shenanigans, Kimmy kept her eyes peeled as they sat on a bench a few meters away from where the older pair was seated. The newlyweds then tried their best to act inconspicuous, leaning on each other like the sweet couple that they were while they kept their focus on their current objective.

"So, what's the plan here?" Cain amusingly whispered, half-heartedly making himself scarce as Kimmy clung to him. "We're just gonna sit here and watch them eat ice cream?"

"Yes?" Kimmy giggled beneath him, nuzzling her head onto his neck. "They look like they're having fun though, right?"

"I suppose so," Cain shrugged in observation. "Though, the ice cream cone's pretty much done by now."

"Melted already? Or did they just eat it fast enough?" Kimmy inquisitively asked.

"Why would that even matter?" he chuckled at his wife's antics. "Oh look, they're standing up."

"Are they moving?"

"Yeah," he relayed to his nosy wife. "I'm guessing you want us to give chase?"

"Of course, I do~" Kimmy cooed, already dragging him to stand back up. "Come on, come on~"

"Fine, fine…" Cain chuckled as he let himself get pulled around by a woman that was significantly shorter than him.

"Walk faster," Kimmy playfully insisted. "They're getting away~"

"You're making it sound like they're fugitives," he scoffed as he pointed out her words. "Also, don't you think they're onto us?"

"Huh? I don't think so," she teasingly replied. "If they did, they should've confronted us awhile ago."

"Or maybe they're just having fun with us right now," Cain suggested. "For all we know, they're about to make us go on a wild ride."

"What kind of wild ride? I wouldn't mind," she chuckled. "It's not like we have anything else to do."

Cain sighed at his wife's words. "You know you're acting like a massive gossip right now, right?"

"Yeah? It's fun," Kimmy chuckled. "Besides, it's just Mom. She wouldn't mind it much."

"Really now?"

Her eyes widened at the familiar voice behind her. Her cheerful attitude froze instantly, replaced with a nervous shiver as she asked, "Mom's right behind me, isn't she…"

"Yep," Cain shook his head in exasperation. "I told you it's not gonna stick for too long."

Turning around, Kimmy could only meekly look up at her mother's amused gaze. She placed a hand on her hip as she chastised her wayward daughter. "Did you really think that we wouldn't notice? We're not that unaware of our surroundings, you know."

"Exactly that, Kimmy," Uncle Sean chuckled beside her. "So, what possessed you to tail us like amateur stalkers?"

"W-well, we were kind of bored," Kimmy weakly defended. "And we saw you two having a good time, so we just decided to follow you."

"In my defense, I tried telling her it wouldn't work," Cain shrugged.

"Hey," Kimmy pouted at her husband. "You're supposed to protect me, not throw me under the bus."

"He's just doing his civic duty to his mother-in-law," Leila giggled. "At least one of you two's gonna be keeping the other away from trouble."

"Mom!~"

The four exchanged a brief moment of hilarity before they all laughed among themselves. If there was anything that could mark the end of a good vacation, it was one of them being embarrassed by their own actions.
