Evening came and Brione could not help herself from checking the screen of her mobile phone once more. She had not received any notifications from the one person she was expecting to call or text her.
"Should I call him first?" she whispered as she sat properly on the couch. She lowered the volume of the television and exhaled loudly before pressing Cedric's number.
Cedric was about to call Brione when his mobile phone rang. A beautiful smile curved his full lips and he answered it quickly.
"Yes, sweetheart?" he asked.
Brione felt her heart jump out of her chest, just hearing his voice use the sweet endearment.
"Uhm, I just wanted to ask... Uhm," she could not believe how tongue-tied she was that she could not even complete her sentence.
"Hmm, uhm I guess my sweetheart misses me? Tell me what's my name on your mobile phone?" Cedric asked, trying to lighten the mood so Brione would feel more comfortable and not embarrassed for calling him first. He could tell that she was shy and just imagining her cute face right now made him want him to fly back instantly to his island and see her.
"I didn't change it. I mean it's the same as how manager Ruth sent it to me," Brione said with a pout.
"Darling?"
"Yes…"
"How about you call me that more often?" Cedric encouraged. He was dying to hear Brione call him Darling. It felt more intimate like him calling her Sweetheart.
"Darling…" Brione obediently whispered almost like a gasp.
"How was your day? I was about to call you but I was pleased when I saw you calling first," Cedric commented. He was walking in the hallway returning to his room after dinner with his father.
"Just the usual. I saw Olivia before lunch but she has left too. Then I went swimming on the beach with my team the rest of the day," Brione said.
"In a two-piece swimsuit?" Cedric burst, making Brione chuckle as she replied, "Of course not. You see Manager Ruth is very strict so everyone on the beach wore rash guards!"
"Oh good then. I don't want anybody ogling your beautiful body. I'm the only one allowed to drool over it, Sweetheart," Cedric declared, making Brione blush hard and she was so grateful she was alone at that moment.
How about dinner? I hope you eat properly. I'm sorry I was not able to call you earlier. It was because I am occupied with a lot of things," Cedric commented.
"Yes, I'm done with dinner, don't worry I understand." Brione answered and asked, "You?"
"Yup. I'm in my room now, Sweetheart. Ah, I missed you already. I wish you were here with me. If possible I want to tie you tightly to me, Sweetheart," Cedric said in a low tone. If possible he would marry Brione right at that instant and glue her next to him. Yet there was so much for him to do.
There was only a moment of silence and they could only hear each other's breathing until Cedric let out a long deep and frustrated sigh.
"You sound weary. Did something happen?" Brione asked worriedly when she heard the sigh.
"Oh, it's nothing, Sweetheart," Cedric answered. He was indeed weary after hearing the whole truth of the incident from his Aunt Leila and confirming it with his father during their dinner.
The one responsible for her mother's abduction was still on the loose and it was making him anxious! He could not believe that the man was clever enough to escape his doom after what he had done to the royal family. That could only mean that he was not just a simple bodyguard. He was powerful enough to do his heinous crime and escape an innocent freeman!
Now that he had found out about it, he would not stop searching even the deepest darkest places of hell to find out where he was hiding!
"Dar… Cedric…" he heard Brione whisper, snapping him out from his deep thoughts. He chuckled because he sensed her hesitation to call him Darling. He did not speak, anticipating the next words she uttered.
"Are you there?"
"Yup I'm here. You see I will feel more energized if you were to call me Darling," he requested in a low tone.
"Darling…" Brione whispered, thinking he was feeling down since she was hesitating to call him Darling.
"Are you alright?" she asked again.
"Yes, as long as you call me Darling often I will be alright even if I am not Sweetheart," Cedric whispered.
"Am I disturbing you?" Brione asked.
"Of course not, you're the only person who can disturb me anytime you want and you know that. But speaking of… Hmm, let me video call you later. I need to clean up and change my clothes. I will call you later," Cedric said with a smile.
"Alright," Brione said but still did not end the call.
"Hang up now, sweetheart. I'll go to the bathroom. I love you," Brione heard him say, making her heart flutter again. She wanted to say more but chose to keep her lips closed and ended the call.
Berry had asked her a question that kept on taunting her. She was loving two men but one definitely more than the other. So whom did she love more?
Brione heaved a long sigh. Right now Cedric weighs more to her since he was the one she was with. Was she still confident if there was a real Gavin who could suddenly show up in the picture?
She felt her head and heart would explode as both were going haywire at the thought of Gavin's return.
Annoyed with the circumstances she grabbed her hair and complained quietly to herself, "Why is everything so complicated!!!"
She stood up, turned off the television, and walked into Cedric's bedroom. She literally jumped on his bed and buried her face in the sheet. Then she turned right and saw Gavin's journal on the bedside table and whispered, "This time I really have to let you go, right? Will you hate me and blame me for everything? I'm really sorry Gavin. I fear Cedric is already conquering most of the space you left in my heart."
