Brione and Cedric had a quick nap, cuddling with each other. Cedric woke up first and asked the flight attendant to prepare lunch for them. He stared at Brione who was still asleep on the bed. He smiled as a contented feeling filled his heart.
"You're so beautiful," he whispered as he scanned every part of Brione's face, even her long perfectly curled lashes were thick and attractive. Every part of her was beautiful and perfect in his eyes.
He could tell that Brione was doing things with him of her own will and he loved how she, unknowingly, showed how much she cared for him. Indeed, traveling back and forth was tiring but he did not feel the discomfort because seeing Brione gave him the energy to travel, regardless of the distance.
She had said the words 'I love you' last night but he was scared to ask her about it. He sighed because later he would give her an update about the investigation. He was still contemplating mentioning his dreams because they were not clear enough to give details of who he really was.
He believed the incident about her mother had a connection with his kidnapping. For him, it was not a coincidence that he met someone who looked exactly like him onboard the ship. It was destiny, they were meant to meet that night because the two of them were connected to each other and he had to find out what connection was that.
The DNA test, if Noah and his wife were successful, would solve half the mystery. Brione asked him to play the piano because like his father said, he was good at playing instruments. But the irony of it was that he had not even once tried playing any instruments since the day he woke up and found himself without any memories.
He too was curious if he would be able to play the piano. He saw these instruments in his music room yet he did not have the urge to play any of them. Maybe because he had been busy? Or simply because he was not interested?
Brione moved and slowly opened her beautiful eyes. She looked at him with a smile and whispered, "You're awake. What time is it?"
"It's almost lunch, let's eat something. Another hour and we'll be almost there." Cedric commented. Brione raised her hand, gesturing to pull her up so Cedric did as she asked, but he pulled her closer so he could embrace her tightly as he commented, "Ah! This feels better than any of my pillows. So soft…"
Brione chuckled and said, "Let's go eat. I'm hungry."
"Yeah, let's go after one more minute," Cedric whispered, still hugging her.
The two ate their lunch in the small dining area as soon as the food was ready. Brione looked at Cedric and asked, "So, later I will meet your father, your aunt, and her husband? How about your cousin? You have one cousin, right?"
She asked him about what they liked so she would know what to buy as gifts but Cedric was not helping her at all, always saying anything would do. Maybe because he could not remember those particular details. It must be hard for Cedric so she started to feel bad and prayed that Cedric could regain his memory soon.
"She's nowhere to be found. Well, she did not want us to look for her. The last time I talked to her was two days ago. She said she will come home soon. I informed her that I have a girlfriend and I plan to introduce you to the family today if I am successful in bringing you with me. So hopefully she will surprise us with her arrival. She knows you. She said she's a fan," Cedric commented.
"I hope she and your Auntie finally reconcile, then. But I salute her bravery. I mean she ran away just like that. And she's quite good at staying hidden, given how you can't locate her." Brione commented.
"I must buy her something too in case she returns today," Brione whispered. Then she realized that she had not given anything yet to Cedric. She smiled at the thought of a gift to buy for him. Maybe she should buy him a watch?
"By the way, when is your birthday?" Brione asked.
"Oh, it's Christmas Eve," Cedric answered, making Brione drop the spoon and fork she was holding. Cedric's facial muscles flinched as he whispered, "Don't tell me…"
He had not yet completed the sentence before Brione nodded her reply. Cedric cursed inwardly because he had not bothered to look at Gavin's specific details, like his birthday.
Brione whispered Gavin's birthday including the year, making Cedric clench his jaw. It was too much of a coincidence for him and Gavin to be born on the same day.
Brione gulped, she was too focused on similarities and could not believe she missed checking their birth dates.
"You two could be twins," she whispered and was not aware that she had voiced her thoughts out loud.
"Yeah, that's what I thought too but none in my family are aware. All of them said that I was the only baby in my mother's womb. You see there was this incident when I was born…" Cedric whispered and began telling Brione the story his Aunt Leila had told him.
Brione listened intently and whispered, "What if your mother kept it from your father? Her carrying twins? I mean there must be something there. Did you ask your father if he ever saw your mother's ultrasound?"
Cedric shook his head and said, "He can't even tell me the whole story of the incident. Aunty said Father still felt guilty about it because he failed to protect her. They arrived too late. My mother had no life left in her, but she had me in her arms. And the worst part of it all was that the man who abducted her managed to get away."
"You mean he's still out there?" Brione asked in terror.
