Chapter 173 - Hiding

Name:Kiss Me Not Author:
Kimmy had been silent the whole day. She was still affected by an incident she encountered this morning wherein she overheard the nurses talking bad about her.

Cain was not used to seeing her acting like this. She was feeling so down. He wanted to cheer her up but he didn't know how to do it. In the end, Cain just watched her silently the whole day.

Kimmy had no idea but Cain stepped up for her, defending her against those people who badmouthed her.

He warned them not to say anything bad about Kimmy again or else they would be fired from the hospital. He even punished them for cutting their salary for this month.

The journey back to Lewis's residence was very quiet. Kimmy parked the car in the garage and stepped out first to open the car door for Cain.

But to her surprise, Cain didn't wait for her as he initiated to open his door and stepped out of the car.

Kimmy wondered why Cain was not ordering her around today. He didn't make some silly request and he didn't annoy her today.

'Why do I feel like Cain is acting so kind to me today?' Kimmy pondered to herself, following Cain behind as they entered the house.

Little did they know Daniel had a visitor tonight. It was Kimmy's mother, her Highness Leila.

Daniel forgot to warn Kimmy and Cain that Leila was visiting him tonight. They were now sitting in the living room, talking to each other.

Cain and Kimmy just came inside the house, passing by the living room area. They were planning to greet Daniel but to their surprise, he was not alone. He got company.

Kimmy's eyes widened and her jaw dropped upon seeing the familiar figure of her mother. Leila was laughing while talking to Daniel. Fortunately, she hadn't noticed Kimmy's and Cain's presence yet.

"Oh my Gosh! My Mom is here, Cain?!! What is she doing here?!" Kimmy stopped on her track, tugging the sleeve of Cain's coat.

Cain also stopped and was surprised to see Royal Highness Leila together with his father.

"Dad didn't tell us that your mother is coming." He said in a low voice.

Kimmy saw her mother who was about to turn in their direction. If she would not do something, she would definitely see her.

Kimmy didn't want that to happen. She knew her mother. Once she saw her, she might make a scene there. She would not stop pestering Kimmy until she got the answer she wanted.

Before it was too late, Kimmy acted on impulse as she turned Cain around, using him as a shield from her mother's view.

Fortunately, Cain's figure was larger than hers. She moved closer to Cain, hugging him as she sunk into his body.

"Cain, hug me faster! And use your coat to hide me! I don't want Mom to see me."

Cain was stunned for a moment before he obediently followed Kimmy's instructions. When Leila turned around, she saw Cain's back.

"Oh, Cain, you are home!" Leila greeted him cheerfully.

Cain remained rooted in his spot while hugging Kimmy in his arms, hiding her from Leila's view. Leila had no idea that her daughter was also standing there in front of Cain.

"Good evening, Auntie Leila," Cain said, trying to sound normal.

Leila looked at Cain confusedly. She wondered why Cain didn't turn around as he greeted her. He was just standing there with his back facing them.

Meanwhile, Daniel realized his mistake. Kimmy and Cain didn't know that Leila was coming here tonight. Cain already told him that Kimmy wanted to keep this a secret from her mother.

Daniel's eyes roamed around his surroundings, searching for Kimmy. That's when he noticed that Cain was acting strange as he didn't move from his spot.

'Eh? Don't tell me… Kimmy is hiding there in front of Cain?'

Daniel's lips twitched, fighting the urge to laugh. He darted his gaze back and forth between Leila and Cain. He could tell that Leila was also wondering why Cain was not looking at them.

Daniel had decided to help Kimmy and Cain. To cover up for them, Daniel talked to Leila asking her about Kimmy. He wanted to divert Leila's attention away from Cain.

When Leila brought her attention back to Daniel, he gave Cain a go signal to leave by sending him a message.

When Leila was not looking in their direction, Cain pulled Kimmy towards the vacant groom near the living room.

He immediately closed the door in a hurry. The two of them were now resting their backs on the closed door.

Kimmy heaved a sigh of relief while massaging her chest.

"Oh my, that was a close call! Mom, almost catch me! I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest a while ago." Kimmy mumbled.

But Cain didn't say a word. He just looked at her with her absentminded expression. His hand was still holding Kimmy's hand.

Just like Kimmy, Cain's heart was also running wild a while ago. Kimmy suddenly hugged his body tight, asking him to hug her back and so he did.

Cain felt helpless. He always had the same reaction whenever their bodies would get closer to each other. He felt her warmth, and her softness once again. And her sweet scent was intoxicating him.

Who would have thought that hugging her would feel so amazing?

Kimmy was still murmuring about her mother's sudden visit when she gazed up to look at Cain. She stopped talking when she noticed that their faces were close to each other as Cain was looking at her.

Their eyes met, staring at each other intently. Both of them became silent. It seemed that there was a magnet pulling them to each other as no one between them looked away.

Kimmy held her breath as Cain's face was inching closer and closer to her. Her heart began to pound rapidly once again.

She reflexively closed her eyes as she could no longer stand the pressure brought by his penetrating gaze, along with the closeness of his face.

'What's going on? Is he planning to kiss me?'
