At Country D
As scheduled, Gavin picked up his father, Damiel, from his house so he could accompany him to the psychiatrist his father wanted him to see.
"He is a good one, son. He already helped a lot of patients in recovering their memories so I'm sure he can help you gain your memories soon as well." Daniel told him while they were inside the car.
"I hope so, Father," Gavin said with a smile. He already had his sessions with his close friend, Dr. Rui Dee, but then there was no harm in trying the doctor his father was recommending.
"Yes, son. We all want your memory back as soon as possible." Daniel whispered with a neutral face.
They soon arrived at the private clinic and Damiel introduced him to Dr. Hayes.
"Is it okay if we use hypnosis? This is actually very effective to all of my patients," the doctor asked Gavin to which he nodded in response. Dr. Haves let him lay down on the chair before he first made some interviews on what he recollected so far since the incident.
Gavin answered all his questions truthfully concerning the fragments of his memories. Then he showed him his pendulum and informed Gavin that he would start with the hypnosis.
Gavin did not know what happened next except that all things went blank.
Dr. Hayes looked at Damiel who gave him a nod then he started his work.
After some time, Gavin opened his eyes…
"How are you feeling?" Dr. Hayes asked with a smile.
Gavin sat properly and looked at his father. He did remember some things from the past and it was mostly his good times with his father, Damiel.
"Son?" Daniel whispered, looking at him as if searching deeply into him.
Gavin smiled and whispered, "I remembered almost everything, father. I mean my memories with you since I was a kid… They are all coming back…"
He saw the tears welling up in his father's eyes. Gavin stood up to sit with him and pulled him into an embrace. Yes, he remembered everything and how good his father Damiel was to him, taking care of him like his own blood since he was a kid. His wife died when he was young so Gavin had no recollection of her.
Most of his time was spent with his father Damiel who treated him so well till he grew up. He now remembered important memories and he was with him all way throughout the aspect of his life, good or bad.
"I'm sorry that it took me long to remember you," Gavin whispered. He felt guilty that he was treating him suspiciously when his father Damiel did nothing but showed him his love as his father.
"It's okay son. What matters now is that you at least remember me little by little," Damiel murmured, sobbing. Gavin wiped his tears and gently stroked his back.
"It will still take some more sessions… For you to recall almost everything. We can do this twice a week." Dr. Hayes interrupted and Gavin agreed to do it since he thought it was indeed effective.
They had some more conversations before Gavin and his father soon bid their farewell to Dr. Hayes.
"Do you have plans for dinner, father?" Gavin asked when they were already inside the car.
"None son," Daniel answered.
"Oh good, how about you join us for dinner? Brione asked me to bring you home for dinner. She's in charge of making tonight's dinner." Gavin informed. He almost forgot to mention that his wife asked him this.
"Alright, son. Let's have dinner in your house…" Daniel answered quickly. Gavin could feel how his father seemed to want to spend more time with him like they used to.
He instructed his driver to send them directly to the villa where his wife was waiting with Berry and Mitch.
Brione immediately greeted father Damiel as soon as they arrived.
"Uncle…" Brione gave him a cheek-to-cheek kiss as her usual greeting.
"I bet you two can't wait to get married," Daniel teased and Brione bashfully smiled. If only uncle Damiel knew they were married already.
"I want a grand wedding ceremony for Brione, father, so I want to make it very special," Gavin commented.
"Just a simple one will do," Brione whispered, elbowing Gavin.
Gavin put his arms on her shoulders and replied, "You deserve the best amongst the best Sweetheart!"
Their conversations were interrupted when Mitch and Berry suddenly appeared to bid their farewell to Brione, Gavin, and uncle Damiel.
Gavin led his father to sit at the garden while Brione excused herself to get the two men some tea and snacks.
"You bought a nice villa…" Daniel commented as he looked around the spacious garden.
"Yes, father. I want to create my own family here with Brione," Gavin replied with a smile.
"I am really grateful that you raised me well, father, like your own son," Gavin said with a grateful tone in his voice.
Daniel pulled Gavin's hand and gently squeezed it saying, "you're my son, Gavin, and nothing will change that. You're the most precious gift I received my entire life. The best thing that ever happened to me."
"Thank you, Father…" Gavin whispered.
Damiel patted his shoulders and their moment together was interrupted by the sudden ringing of Gavin's mobile phone.
"Answer it, son. It could be something important…"
Gavin took his mobile phone and excused himself. He walked with enough distance and answered the mobile phone since it was Kevin. He did not want his father Damiel to hear what he and Kevin had to discuss over the phone.
Good thing Brione arrived just in time to accompany his father while he was on the phone.
"Your Highness… I believe you urgently need to watch the recording of your check-up a while ago with Mr. Damiel…"
Gavin's forehead creased, hearing how serious Kevin was speaking about it. He unconsciously looked in the direction where his father Damiel and Brione were sitting. The two were laughing and they looked like they were having a good conversation.
"Send it to me now," Gavin instructed with a blank face. Like Brione, he too wore some things in his body for tracking and a hidden camera.
