At Derhan Palace, Country B
The King together with his family and a few of his trusted people were escorted back to the private wing of the palace. This was a place where only family members along with a few people who had approved appointments with the King could enter. The medical team instantly required Lucas to go back to his bedroom and Gavin with the rest to follow.
Cain arrived as well, panting, and instantly checked the condition of Lucas. As he expected Lucas was anxious about the sudden fainting of the Prime Minister.
"Can someone check the condition of Greg?" Lucas breathed. He was silently praying and hoping that Greg would be fine and that it was nothing serious. He had just lost a son and was probably very brokenhearted right now.
Gavin and Will exchanged glances and Gavin signaled Will to follow Olivia and her family while rushing the Prime Minister to the nearby hospital. Will, who was anxious about doing it without Gavin's signal, immediately left the room and proceeded to act on it.
"This is not good. Your blood pressure is very high, Your Majesty. Please try to relax. Breathe in and breathe out…" Cain instructed.
Brione looked at Gavin who gave her a reassuring smile saying everything will be fine.
Sean, on the other hand, was very busy checking the response of the cabinet members about the King stepping down from his throne and handing it over to Gavin.
He sighed and looked at Lucas and then at Gavin. So many conflicts were happening at a time that he could only pray that the King and his son would successfully surpass the storm they were going through right now.
"Can you stay with Father, sweetheart? I need to meet the security team and give further instructions. I have to meet Zach and his team too…" Gavin whispered.
"Yeah I will. You go and take care of what is needed, I will look after Father. Don't worry," Brione said with a reassuring smile.
Gavin left the room and instructed Kevin to make sure that the Prime Minister and his family would have their privacy in the hospital without the media making them uncomfortable.
He sighed as he walked to the room where Zach and his team were waiting for him. His mind was conflicted about whether to visit the hospital or not because Olivia had warned him that she and her family would not want to cross paths with any member of the Royal family.
And based on her words for him a while ago it sounded like she was going to fight with him. Gavin shook his head… He heaved another sigh as he walked into the hallway. He would have a huge responsibility very soon and he has to balance everything, making sure that he would have enough time for his personal life especially for his family.
He was in deep thought when his phone rang. It was Raine who was calling him. She was not someone who would call unless it was something very important.
"Oh my God. Did she locate Cedric?" he mumbled as he quickly answered the call.
"Hey, King Gavin, I saw the news. Geez… Can you handle so many things at the same time? You're our Historian but you just announced to the world that you'll be King?!" Raine shouted.
Gavin chuckled and said, "I'm disappointed. You are clearly underestimating me…"
"Well, not really. My only concern is whether our legacy will be kept written or not. But anyway, I trust you so if you say you can handle everything then good. I called as I finally have some good news. Your twin is alive and I will bring him back to you safely very soon."
Gavin felt his heart stop beating for a moment. Cedric is alive! His twin brother is alive?!
"Hello? Historian Gavin, are you there?" Raine asked in jest.
"Oh yeah, I am here. This is so sudden that my heart almost stopped beating! I knew it!! He is alive. Can I come with you when you're picking him up? How is he doing? Is he well? Oh God, I can't wait to tell father about this."
"Relax. He is fine. But retrieving him won't be easy since he is on a dangerous island. I can assure you he is well but you see… He is being kept by a group of unknown people who are stronger than humans so it's not appropriate for you to come. Anyway, let me handle this for now. I promise I will bring him to your doorstep soon. I have to go now. Good luck with your coronation."
Soon after Gavin heard the call beeping. He stopped in his tracks and immediately turned around to go back to his father and relay the good news, hoping this would brighten his father's mood and lighten the heavy burden in his heart.
He almost ran back to his father's bedroom. By the time he stepped inside everyone turned at him because he was panting heavily.
"What's wrong?" It was Brione who asked worriedly. Gavin immediately smiled and said, "Nothing is wrong. Just that I have good news."
He looked at the medical team inside and asked, "Where is Cain?"
"He stepped out for a moment," Sean answered.
Gavin dismissed everyone inside the room except for Sean and Brione.
"What is it, son?" Lucas, who finally found his voice, asked. He was feeling so down that he was desperate to hear the good news from Gavin.
Gavin bent down on his knees as he held his father's hand and said, "Cedric is alive, Father. It's confirmed and he will be rescued very soon. Cedric will be with us soon, father. You don't need to worry about Cedric."
The news caught Lucas so off guard that he was unable to speak for a while. He simply stared at Gavin who was smiling widely at him. He could see the excitement in Gavin's eyes and his longing to be with his twin brother…
"Oh, God… My son… Cedric. Your twin brother is alive!"
Gavin nodded his head and tears rolled down from his father's eyes. "Pinch me son. I have to make sure that this is not a dream. Oh God!! I can't believe that Cedric is finally returning home. Tell me, is he safe? I mean how is his condition?"
"My trusted friends will retrieve him soon and they have confirmed his safety, Father. Make sure you take good care of your health so you can welcome Cedric grandly as soon as he is back.." Gavin whispered as he squeezed his father's hand gently.
