Inside Hansen's Mansion, Cain left first so Kimmy could have some bonding time with her mother. He had a lot of questions in him, but it could wait. What was important was that Kimmy reconciled with her mother and brought back their good relationship.
Kimmy needed to overcome her family trials to overcome her trauma with things, especially in serious relationships.
When Cain left, Kimmy and her mother stayed in the living area.
"Ah wait, I got your favorite tea. Let me get that first," Leila excitedly said. She quickly stood up to get it. Leila was so happy and blissful that her daughter finally visited her. Since Kimmy returned, Leila waited for Kimmy to see her first, but the brat did not bother to see her for days..
Leila smiled as she prepared the tea in the kitchen. As she expected, Cain was a good influence on Kimmy since he was a mature person. She would bet it was Cain who convinced Kimmy to visit her, and she was genuinely grateful for the man if it was the case.
"I hope those two get along well, and I pray to hear wedding bells in their own accord finally," she whispered with a squeal. She did not have her happy ending in life, but having Kimmy as her daughter was fulfillment enough for her, so she had no regrets.
Meanwhile, Kimmy was comfortably sitting on the couch of their living area when her mobile phone beeped. She grabbed it from the table to check who messaged her.
Her eyebrows creased, seeing it was from Cain.
"What is it now?" she mumbled as she opened the message.
[I think your mother misses you too much. It would be a good idea to sleep with her tonight, don't you think? I will come to pick you up if you prefer not to sleep in your house. Advise me whatever your decision is.]
Kimmy, with a pout, scoffed, "you don't need to pick me up. Maybe I should sneak and go back to my apartment instead and sleep there for tonight."
Kimmy sighed. She honestly missed her mother a lot, especially those old times, like how her mother would sneak inside her room at night to sleep beside her.
Kimmy wanted to sleep in her old room like before. It would be nice… But she did not want to see her father at dinner nor talk to that despicable man.
She heaved a sigh and scrolled over her contact numbers. She already deleted Harry's number on her mobile phone. She deleted it after he turned her down and told her that he would never look at her as a woman no matter what she did.
Her face crumpled, recalling that heartbreaking moment. She was devastated at that time, so she decided to go back to her country… To forget Harry.
She bit her lip while she stared at the screen of her mobile phone. She wondered if Harry would call her or not. Kenzie clearly said that Harry asked for her address. He arrived in their country yesterday, and Harry was staying at the best hotel in their City.
"Did she go to my address without calling me first?!" she burst. Harry was very stoic. He was having a hard time expressing himself because of the idea that he deserved nothing in this world but loneliness.
That was what drew Kimmy to him, seeing how Harry was changing and correcting all the mistakes he made in his life before. He was trying his best to be a better person and just killed most of his time and energy into working and helping the Cha Family without the Cha Family asking. It was like his retribution for his mother's wrongdoing to the Cha Family with him as an accomplice.
Kenzie advised her to search her heart profoundly and ask herself if it was love and not just pity what she felt for Harry. She was unsure, but she was hurt by Harry's words when he drove her away from him for good. She felt a knife stabbing her heart multiple times.
"Could it be that he realized his true feelings for me while I was away?"
She suddenly stood up, thinking of checking her apartment and asking the security. Still, then, Cain came to her mind. She imagined his dark face directed towards her, scolding her to go back to her seat and spend time with her mother instead of checking if the man dumped her and hurt her feelings.
With dropped shoulders, she slumped back on the couch. She must get a hold of herself. She threw herself enough to Harry. Kimmy did all she could just for him to notice how she cared for him genuinely, but he still did not appreciate it, so she must not bother about him whether he was around the area or not. It was not like Harry wanted to see her anyway.
She was interrupted in her stupor when her mobile phone rang. It was an unknown number, so Kimmy answered it with snapped brows.
"Hello? Who's this?"
There was only silence, so Kimmy scorned, "If you do not talk, then don't bother to call!"
She thought it could be just a prank call. She was about to end the call and block the number when a familiar voice suddenly spoke, "Kimmy. It's me. I guess you erased my contact number on your phone."
Kimmy felt the clock stopped from ticking. It was him… Harry Cha, her first love.
"I can't contact your old number, so I thought you changed your number. Good thing that you are keeping in touch with Kenzie, and I'm able to get this new number of yours from her."
Kimmy felt like she cut her tongue off at that moment. She did not know what to stay. She did not expect that Harry would call her though she thought of the possibility, then, knowing the man, she would not expect anything.
"Kimmy, are you there?" Harry asked.
"Yes, Harry, I'm here," Kimmy answered. She finally found her voice, and yet she did not know what to say next.
"I went to your address, but the security said that you're not around. Can we see each other?"
Harry asked to see her for the first time!!! Usually, it was always her who would ask or offer.
She creased her forehead when she heard some beeping indicating that there was a call waiting. She looked at it and gulped, seeing it was Cain who was calling her.
