What others can do, you can also do. And what others can't do definitely you can do.

That's a Chinese saying and I believe my agency took it serious at least in my case.

I'm assigned the most tough task in the whole world and you know what that is?

To solve the mystery of the CEO of Mac Laverty group.

I was asked to step into the lion's den, take his pictures, pull out some big information about him. You must be pondering why he is the hot topic.

So the answer lies in his mysterious gaze, cold aura and sharp words. Everything about him is intriguing, inviting everyone. You must be thinking he is a vampire as these words were described for Edward Cullen too.

But no this CEO is not a vampire or that is what I guess, as a book should not be judged by cover.

So the best thing to remain close to your prey is applying for a secretary. Yes I'm a journalist in disguise who will spy on that damn mysterious CEO and will win the prize for this task, cheers!

Perhaps the luck is on my side as there came the vacancy advertise from the company. And I, Syna Rhys, sent my CV. Technically today is my interview.

Oh wait!

"Today is my interview and I'm here writing all this sh*t in my laptop. I need to hurry for my first day."

You want to accompany me to this journey? Yes?

Then let's catch our prey!

---------------

The stars began to hide behind the blue curtains as the tyrant sun emerged from the east. Snatching the sombre cover of night.

It was almost daylight as the knight-rays were smashing the window glass. And I shut my laptop with a deep sigh. Buckling up myself for a new adventure, I stretched my body and yawned.

I could not sleep last night because of excitement or you can say nervousness.

Talking about my life it's nothing special to narrate, I mean about my parents or childhood, I did not know anything. As I grew up in an orphanage and studied hard.

I was blessed with useful brain cells, at least one good thing on by note. And currently I'm working for an entertainment news agency.

Which is now perhaps taking me as an eye sore by assigning me such a task which requires placing my life on hand.

But I'm such an idiot, a lover of adventure and immediately agreed thinking of it a peccadilo.

Well what else could be done now, I have to sacrifice myself for a big news. I placed my laptop aside and stood up from the bed, walked straight to the cupboard and opened my wardrobe for a formal dress, that was the most time taking task for me.

My decision power always goes numb. I pulled out a white shirt and a brick orange skirt which would hung in my mid thigh. Not so slutty and not so conservative.

Next step was to take a bath, I strode towards the washroom, right next to my wardrobe and opposite to the bed, still in my loose PJs and regular Tshirt.

Leaned against the wall waiting for water to mix up the temperature, still can't bath with cold one after turning on the shower, slipped off the ring which in my index finger. A gift left by my ancestors, as that was what my orphanage nanny told.

I let the luke warm water suck out the tiredness within me, shampooed my hair and bathed in lavender body wash. Put on my undergarments and barged into the room without wasting any more moment.

"Heng! My ring."

Draped with the white towel around my body and wet hair hung loose on my shoulders I turned around and leaped towards the door handle.

"What the hell. Why it's locked?"

It was unexpected, I mean I was the only one living in this apartment ever since. Then how could it be locked from inside all of a sudden?

I pulled the handle once again but it got stuck as I guessed that way.

"Looks like the hinges and the lock is the problem now."

I kicked that damn door and ebbed dishearted.

I was strictly informed by my nanny never to lose or put off that ring and upto this day, I wondered what was the special about that damn ring.

To be true I loved it because of the unique ancient style and that silver shinny gem in the middle. Don't know how much will it cost, maybe a fortune.

I slipped into my working clothes and wore a few puffs of perfume. Next step was to blow dry my hair. I took out the dryer and plugged the wire. It was about my third or fourth blow when I heard the unlocking of the door!

Immediately I glanced back at the washroom door, stood up from my dressing chair with a pounding, frightened heart.

"No. It's no one here. You are just tired Syna and hallucinating voices."

I encouraged myself by tapping my chest gently.

But I needed to see, to confirm and with a stammering hand I grabbed the hold of handle and was about to open when the door flung wide open.
