Chapter 16 - First Date In A Century

Syna impatiently waited for the clock to strike one of the noon, as her white tank top was fluttering under the cool air of fan.

"Why it is so difficult? Owhh! No-no I can't do this."

She sat on the bed with a thump, head in between the hands. Her nervousness was increasing with every passing second.

[Ring!]

Her cell phone glowed as the 'Shape of You' by Ed Sheran filtered through the quiet atmosphere.

"Syna, where are you? You met him? How is he, handsome or average? Tell me fast, girl."

The bolts of Lolita's questions thundered onto Syna's ears.

"I'm at home and nervous Loli, I feel like I will faint in a few minutes."

Syna checked for her forehead temperature which was cold with sweat beads.

"Okay, I will call you later."

After usual scolding from Lolita, Syna hung up with a shaky hand in nervousness.

"Come on Syna, you can do this. It's just a -dd-date."

Stammering while starring at her own reflection, Syna encouraged herself for that battle.

She took her keys and locked the door, left her apartment at once to board a taxi and reached the restaurant as fast as she could.

Syna looked around for a suitable sitting place, after finding one she plopped and intended onto wait for him.

The sun rays were passing through the glass window which was close to the table and presented a whole view of outside street, were falling upon her blonde hair which were cascaded onto her shoulders.

Her reddish tinged lips were perfectly suitable for a date, with that white tank top which kissed her body curves tightly, and halted in her mid thigh.

But where her mind was running to was the thoughts of that man, who perhaps do not know either would be the beast of beauty or the beast of real world, as Syna was already terrified of this cruel world.

Syna continuously starred at the wrist watch, she was getting tired of that never-ending wait, her body was sweating profusely. She was already waiting for an excuse to escape.

"Maybe he is not coming. I should go."

She murmured to herself and started to gaze outside, to wait for a few minutes more, her mind was wandering.

"I'm a total fool, he is not coming. How could I believe someone whom I have never seen."

She lowered her head onto table more like smacking, scolding and cursing herself.

When she heard someone calling her name, infact asking!

"Ms Syna Rhys? "

She hurriedly looked upward in the front direction and was stunned to see such a handsome man before her.

She forgot to reply him but subconsciously moved her head as she was saying 'YES'.

"Hello, I'm Brandon Brighton."

About ten mintues were passed by in awkward silence after the man seated himself.

Syna was still hella nervous, she was twitching her fingers in lap and digging her nails in skin, her excessive blinking eyes were showing off her expressions.

The man sensed that it was her first time out with a guy and tried to calm her by talking more formally.

"Haha, I guess I made you wait a lot. Let's order first, a furnace is burning within me! "

Then they placed their order with mutual discussion.

"You are a fine lady, Miss Syna. I'm very honoured to meet you, finally."

Brandon praised her with a genuinely expression.

Syna just nodded and reached for the water bottle which was close to Brandon but accidentally tossed her coffee cup which got spilled on table, and stream reached him.

"Oh I'm so sorry Brandon, let me grab some tissues."

In her attempt to pull out some tissues Syna shot up from the seat, which caused the table got a jerk.

And the water bottle with it's cap off, fell on his pant. She had a pure intention to help but in turn spoiled everything in her nervousness.

Her stumbling increased as she ruined her first date herself and was about to weep.

"I'm sorry, I have been acting so stupidly, really sorry Mr Brighton."

Her eyes became teary and she dashed from there with wet eyes.

Pushing the door she wanted to ran, but someone stopped her at the door step of restaurant, his grip was strong and when she turned around and...
