Syna Rhys (POV)

As the door slid opened woth a feeble creek, my gaze landed straight on grandpa Lorenzo, who was sitting with some guy but stood up immediately upon our arrival.

"Grandpa!"

I rushed towards him for a warm hug, as he pulled me into his strong arms.

"My child, you are finally here."

He was still handsome as ever, as far as I remember, now in his fifties, he could still put many youngsters to shame.

Why I call her grandpa, when he could be of my father's age? Well all kids of orphanage used to address him that way and he never complained, though grandpa Benz did at first but then settled down with that, he was his contemporary and both were school friends, they known each other since that long.

"I'm glad, you arrived just on the perfect moment girl. Here meet, Joseph MacLaverty!"

I averted my stare towards the direction where grandpa pointed, a young man with whom grandpa was talking previously, and I completely ignored his presence earlier.

"H-hello, Sir."

I forced a smile not to make the situation awkward, when it was already confusing. When did Mr Sinclair, had a brother?

Everything was fu*kin' crazy now, this whole damn week was full of craziness, first weird treatment of Mr President towards me, these strange emotions creeping in me and now a brother!

The man stood up and walked upto me, held my hand and kissed my knuckles, with a hiss he whispered just audible enough for me to listen.

"Pleasure, my lady."

That 'hiss' hit me hard, wait....

"It's you! The Limo man!"

I half yelled upon the revelation, which made my face grimaced with disgust, while the man just smirked.

"Oh! you guys have met that is great, now it will be easy to sort out things."

Grandpa Lorenzo beamed with joy, while Grandpa and Grandma Benz took their seats close by, their faces soon fell and a seriousness graced their expressions.

"What are you talking about grandpa? What exactly is going on here? And why this man is here?"

I was about to cry now, my voice became a muffled sob as I was confirmed by now that he was going to marry me off to such a queer person and without my consent!

"My child, take a seat first. I have a lot of things to explain but first promise me you have to stay strong, to listen to every word I will utter."

Mr Lorenzo was in serious tone as he gently pushed me to a sofa close by, and grandpa Benz poured a glass of water, and handed the glassware.

Which I tried to gulp but ended up taking small sips, it was hard to swallow anything, and I knew something bad was coming.

My gaze slid across the man, who was shamelessly staring at me, despite elders being there, perhaps ripping my clothes in his imagination.

I felt a sudden cold shudder at once and a chill settled down at the base of spine.

"Oh-k-okay. I'm ready to swallow everything."

I gulped my fears and waited for all my 'family members' to speak something.

Grandpa Benz took the initiative with a serious dark tone, moving straight to the core.

"Syna, as you know we picked you up from the orphanage gate with a letter and the ring, which you have now on your finger."

I was all ears now to their words, grandpa Lorenzo carried the story further slowly.

"The letter stated some things about your family and the reasons why they abandoned you here, and the ring was given to you as your identification."

He took a deep breath and heaved a sigh, as I could see some drops around his temples, was he nervous? While the strange man was sitting, amusingly.

"Your birth family was Welsh, precisely an ancient Welsh family but with a deadly curse. Because of which you were sent here to us."

I could feel the tension building up in the atmosphere, though in that brightly lit room, I was not able to see any ray of hope.

In that office-study room regardless having every possible philosophical theory resting in those long brown shelves, I knew deep down no philosopher could help me now.

Grandpa Lorenzo was continuously twisting his fingers, while at my glance grandma Benz, lowered her head, guilty that she could not help me anymore.

"Once in ten generations of your family, a woman is chosen to be the bride of the rightful heir to the throne."

I let out a nervous sarcastic chuckle upon his words, I could not register what royalty he was talking about.

"So, it means I'm a blue blood, right? And cursed at the same time? Whoa! What a great thing to acknowledge."
