Chapter 110 - Should I Run Away?

Syna shut the door behind her, as Syna pushed him away and dashed out of his office cabin, the thump noise of her six inch high heels echoed in his ears as she walked out. She slammed the door shut at once and tucked her back against it with a pounding, uneven heartbeat.

While Sinclair staggered a little behind, supporting himself with the edge of the table to avoid from falling straight down onto the brown carpeted floor of his cabin, he didn't know what to conclude either he had done right or crossed his limits by not caring for her consent. Due to Syna' sudden push he became quizzical whether to chase her first or to calm himself down.

Sinclair quickly ebbed and threw his heated and sweaty body into the leather chair and loosened his tie to let the puffs of cool air coming from the air conditioner to soothe his pumping nerves and burning desires. He wanted to get up and chase her, but he realized he didn't know what to say either. He shot up from the chair and walked over to the door and held the handle in his hand.

He couldn't bring himself to open the door so he turned around and leaned against the door and let himself slide down against it, many thoughts crossed his mind and doubts overcame his senses, he didn't do any such thing before to Syna which could push them apart.

He stood up supporting himself with the door and raked through his disheveled blonde hair, and wiped the shiny sweat beads off his broad forehead. Unknowingly he reached up and touched his own lips and remembered how sweet Syna's tasted then again he shook his own head trying to get the memory of it to go away, he couldn't help but think about it over and over.

She could hear her heart beating in ears, his dazzling hazel orbs roamed in front of her eyes as Syna stood right outside of his cabin. She couldn't get the sight out of her mind, although his attempt was out of the blue that neither her brain was able to register at once what had happened. She placed the right palm over her heart to gasp for breath as the mere touch of his lips still lingered on hers.

Meanwhile, the mighty lord recalled the look of shock her eyes, then remembered the sound of her heels as she hurried in running out of his cabin.

"She stopped running after she slammed the door."

It was the first thought that came to him while the lord was babbling to himself.

"Is she waiting for me to go out she in or just in shock as much as I am?"

He couldn't stand not knowing if she was angry at him or disappointed in his actions. He tapped one finger on the door so she could hear it just in case she was right outside and respond to him.

The slightest knock fell into her ears, she jumped at once in her place that the feeble noise pulled her out of the strangely halcyon reverie. She knew who it would be but didn't have the courage to face him, she had considered him as her boyfriend, Sinclair attempted something all of a sudden that made her react wrong but undoubtedly she didn't hate kissed by him, her treacherous tongue licked the very taste as her face became flushed red around cheeks, she felt her ears fuming hot.

'I...I shouldn't stay here at the door right now. Should I run?'

She expected an explanation, maybe he would be standing, completely sober and ready to come out and she was flustered for nothing. She didn't want to embarrass herself by staying there in front of the door, so she had to decide instantly.

He didn't receive any response from his tap but he felt the door shift as if someone on the other side was leaning against it.

"Argghh... what am I doing! She would be upset for sure and it's my fault!"

Sinclair scolded himself in heart.

Hardening his resolve he stood up and reached for the door handle and ever so slowly turned it, with every tiny turn, he felt his heart beat harder and harder. Suddenly the handle turned far enough to open and he watched as she fell back into the cabin backwards from leaning against the door. He looked down at her on her back and could bring himself to say, "Uh, Hi!"

She was irreplaceable to him, her shyness honestly made her even more charming that he made up his mind to put his pride away even he had to beg for her forgiveness.

"Listen... Syna, I didn't... I mean...I don't know exactly what brought me to do that, but I can't lie to myself and pretend I didn't feel anything before pounding on you. I just don't know what to do. Half of me wants to kneel and beg for forgiveness for crossing my limits without your permit and the other half wants to kiss you again..."

He reached out and touched her hand with his own, giving it a gentle squeeze as he helped her to stand up which he narrated the whole thing. She didn't know how to react, the words were new to her and the sensation was strange, her guardian-devil never let any other man to dot onto her. A part of her became nervous upon his attempt but her heart was racing fast upon hearing the words of confession.

"I-I don't know what to say, I think it....it feels strange but actually good."

She looked into his eyes for a split second to see any hint about his thoughts, but what she witnessed was a flicker that made her avert the stare out of shyness.

"I mean that, I love you... I would do anything to make you forgive me, if you are angry. I would do everything a man should do to make his girlfriend happy."

He made a choice, rather than regret over what could have been, he decided to risk everything and go for what his heart truly felt for this special woman in front of him. When she looked down, he reached out with his free hand and lifted her chin.

"Syna... you know... I love you with all my heart and soul."

Her free hand travelled up to his face as the palm brushed against his neatly trimmed beard. She acknowledged it clearly what she was doing and maybe somewhere in the deepest pit of her heart she wanted it to happen too. The lady responded to his kiss rather pushing him away again which the lord had expected.
