Chapter 115 - My Possesive Billionaire

Syna pulled out the book and stared at the white cover, that had a long stem wine glass in the middle of the white front page of the famous novel by a Wattpad author. The cover itself was eye catching as two silver rings were dipped into the water, and the liquid was splashing out of the wine glass, as if someone had tilted and rotated it intentionally to create such a photographic image.

Below the round base of the glass,  resided the name of dear author in capitalization at the end of the stem. Syna read the title of the novel in her breath, which was written in bold black italic letters, she had a thing for billionaire romances and that author was her favourite.

The lady felt as if her own love story resembled the narration, except that she didn't run away from the groom rather the misunderstanding brought them together. Although, Syna was correct in her premise that her own story was quite matched to that novel, like the characters were already engaged and the chasing lead them to a happy ending.

Syna was also engaged to Lord Sinclair, unknown to his appearance and name of her bridegroom, Syna agreed to love the mighty rich CEO. Whereas, she mistook him as her brother in law, the mere misunderstanding brought them together, binding them both into that contractual marriage thing, rather parting those two naive lovers.

Syna held the book in her hand and tucked it to her heart.

'I didn't know that the stone faced CEO has this taste too, mhmm!'

She muddled to herself, thinking that how contrasting it was to Sinclair's stern and bossy attitude in office. Maybe no one ever saw these books in that mini library and remained unaware of the shocking fact that the CEO was fond of reading romances.

Syna took the book and ebbed to find a place to sit, with the intention of reading it.

'How about...after all I'm his girlfriend.'

Her eyes slid across the big chair of her CEO boyfriend but she felt something itching, a hunch perhaps that she shouldn't sit on that chair.

'What if anyone comes in? I shouldn't blow the cover that we aren't a boss and secretary rather we changed our relationship.'

Many fears crept into her heart by just thinking of attempting such a bold step to sit in the seat of her boss, that Syna didn't want to raise any suspicion among other employees, who had already confirmed their relationship.

'They would possibly label as slut, will call me names. No! No, Syan come to your senses, girl. You are not at home.'

She saw the sofa opposite to the shelves of that small library, and walked up to it without hesitation.

"This is right, it won't raise any suspicion nor any rumour. Aarghh! What a life I have! Sinclair MacLaverty, how many ladybirds do you have around you?"

Previously Sinclair had sealed the voices of those curious cats, who were eavesdropping right outside of his cabin. If Syna would have heard their lame excuses and saw those women's faces creased with the visible expressions of revenge and jealousy, she would have taught them a lesson by scolding hard. How could the Lord let his bride worry over such a trivial thing when he could handle it without difficulty.

She plopped into the black leather sofa, placed her elbow on the armrest and the novel in her lap.

"The best way to read is when the reader is cozy enough to dive within the world."

Syna reached for the strap of her sandals and began to open them, the lady freed her dainty feet from those tight clutches of the sandals and let them fell over the carpeted floor, while Syna pulled her legs up on the sofa.

"All set now!"

She folded her legs in cross and tucked her back with a satisfactory smile upon her act, the lady gazed at the clock which was hung right above the wall, behind Sinclair's chair.

"I have plenty of time to read before Sinclair finishes the meeting."

The cabin was silent now, only the ticking of the clock was audible.

Syna opened the book and flipped the pages upto first chapter, the lady began to read keenly. With every passing minute her interest was increasing and she felt herself familiar to the feelings of the female character, the snake of love had bitten her too like all the characters of that book.

With every rising emotion of the heroine Syna felt herself drowned in the ocean of love, she was unaware of the depth of her relationship with Sinclair but one thing was crystal clear to her heart that Sinclair wouldn't break her heart at any cost. Was it true? Or the naive bride was living in an illusion, intentionally created in her mind by the lord, who had to marry her in this life to save himself.

Or perhaps Sinclair had found a way to achieve immortality, as e even after marrying Syna, their lives were still under the dangling sword of threat. Although, if any one of them died the other mate would also follow, it doesn't matter if they were married or not. Lord Sinclair knew that to achieve such a forbidden 'gift' he have to protect Syna till she reaches the age of  forty years.

The lady was flipping the pages, reading diligently and with concentration that she didn't realise how she changed her posture and began to roam with the book in hands, around the cabin rather sitting in the sofa.

She tucked her hips to the desk of the CEO, which flashed his name written in bold golden letters 'Sinclair MacLaverty' and below it rested in black ink and capitalization 'CEO', everything was neatly placed that showed the skills of neat freak lord, who had tidy up his table all by himself.

Syna lifted her face up after reading the misunderstanding scene between the couple, the lady heaved a sigh when she saw the cup of tea placed on the table.

"Silly, he left it without even drinking."

She wanted something to drink to moisten up her throat that became dry because of reading, Syna picked up the cup of tea which had gotten cold now and gulped it as if she were having water.
