Madel became more and more amazed at the way Giggs was taking initiative.
“Ah, I see. You’re dragging me into this because you don’t want to drown alone, do you? You’re afraid that you’ll be killed if you tell the boss yourself!”
Madel’s mouth dropped open in response. However, Giggs began to think carefully while rubbing his bearded chin, as if he didn’t care about what Madel was planning. He was sure that this incident was still burdening Gareth as well as Elena. If it was just Madel’s speculation, he would have decided to ignore her, but the woman was saying that Elena had made similar suppositions as well.
‘Then shouldn’t we check…? But I don’t know what Boss might do if I suddenly tell him this, and what will Lady Elena… I mean, Madam Elena think? Won’t I just be causing another disturbance? But if we were really tricked…’
“If you go with me, I’ll tell Lord Gareth myself that we need to check the baby,” Madel said with a determined voice at that moment.
This time, Giggs’ eyes widened in surprise. ‘The fat nanny who had never stepped up to do anything will do it herself? I know she’s blindly doing this for Boss, but isn’t she aware of his personality?’ If Madel wasn’t careful, or if things weren’t in her favor, then Gareth might severely punish her or even kill her.
“I just want to make up for the terrible things I’ve done to Madam,” Madel said as if responding to Giggs’ thoughts. Elena’s words had lingered in her head day and night, causing Madel to constantly think about what might have happened if she had thought more carefully about her words back then before speaking. ‘She might have not left and abandoned everything if I had done so…’ she thought regretfully.
“Alright, Madel. I’ll go with you when you decide to tell him. It’s just this one time, though.”
“Thank you, Giggs,” Madel replied before turning around to make her way back to the kitchen.
“By the way, can’t we do something about the food? It’s terrible,” Giggs remarked in a half-joking manner, to which Madel had no choice but to nod.

Act 9.
Gareth’s men snuck looks at Elena, who had come down alone to the hall after a lengthy absence and joined them at the table for lunch. They glanced at her gracefully moving hands and exclaimed in joy every time she took little bites of her food. The 11 men, who hadn’t cared about anyone but themselves and their comrades, had developed a sense of camaraderie towards Elena as well. They had camped in the wild together for a few days and in the process, Elena had prepared delicious meals for them to enjoy and helped treat their skin disease. Although she didn’t wield a sword and fight alongside them, she had given them what they needed and, above all, showed them the warmth that they all secretly craved.
Gareth observed Elena as he ate silently beside her. He was wondering how she had taken what he had told her, but the woman remained expressionless. At that moment, Elena’s hair slid to the front of her shoulder. Gareth reached out and swept her hair back gently, clipping it behind her ear. When he felt her warmth on his hand, he smiled faintly.
Gareth was satisfied as long as he was together with Elena. Although a part of him did wish that he was better at expressing his emotions and entertaining her, there wasn’t much he could do about it. ‘I have no choice but to start with saying things that come to mind… I just have no talent doing these kinds of things, huh.’ Still, Gareth couldn’t help but wonder what Elena was thinking when she had touched his left eye.

After finishing his meal, Gareth was preparing to check how the training had been progressing, when Giggs and Madel approached him.
“What do you need?” he asked with his usual cold tone.
Madel’s heart pounded uncontrollably. She had promised Giggs that she would tell Gareth about the baby, but her lord’s indifferent expression and frigid voice had caused her to freeze in place. Gareth watched in silence as Madel blinked nervously for a moment, then brushed past her. He had planned to go to the training grounds with Elena to show her everything he had been and was doing. He wanted to show her the training that he had gone through to become how he was now.
