“Do you know what you’re doing right now? You’re asking Halbert to come here and find out about our plan,” Lydia scolded.

“What? How dare you try to teach me? I’ll take care of everything, so shut up and stay still!” Logan yelled, dismissing her.

“No, you’re not doing anything on your own. You can’t waste any more time. You need to kill Gareth somehow. If Halbert hears this rumor about you and takes advantage of it to attack us, everything’s over!”

Logan’s face turned pale at Lydia’s words. It seemed that he had not even thought this through.

Lydia believed that, for him to die, Logan had to enter the battlefield without his human shield. It had to be done before the rumors spread out of control.

Her wicked eyes narrowed at that moment. ‘Gareth… I didn’t know he would be so persistent in keeping Logan occupied like this for simply breaking an oath. Perhaps I will be able to side with him once Logan dies,’ she thought. The person Gareth needed to kill was Halbert. Lydia had military power, and she believed that Gareth could command them. In conclusion, Logan had to die as soon as possible.

“I hope something goes differently today, Logan. You have to prove that you’re a man, too, after all,” Lydia murmured.

The hall doors opened at that moment, and soldiers came rushing in, causing a commotion.

“What’s going on?” Lydia spoke condescendingly, her expression cold. “Who told you all you could come in here?” Although Logan had left these soldiers behind to protect the castle, Lydia thought of them as undisciplined and poorly skilled lowlives.

“Madam invited us here for breakfast…” one of the soldiers trailed off, taken aback by Lydia’s irritated attitude.

“Lenoa said that?” Lydia asked. Not wanting to share space with those she thought of as useless scum, she shrieked, “All of you, get out!”

At that moment, Lenoa came out of the kitchen and stopped them. “Everyone, come on in. We have warm food ready.” She then bowed to Lydia and said, “Just let me feed them breakfast for today. They haven’t been able to eat properly, and I’ve been worried that they won’t be able to protect us if something were to happen.”

Lydia glared at Lenoa, her eyes narrowing in the process. She knew very well that the soldiers only ate scraps of food left from the knights, but she thought of it as something natural.

“Please allow me once, Princess Lydia. For my sake,” Lenoa pleaded.

Lydia watched Lenoa who had her head bowed servilely for a moment. She then smirked, “All right, fine. You’re so admirable for thinking about the soldiers. I’ll try to follow suit from now on.”

Once Lydia granted permission, Lenoa let out a sigh of relief. She let the soldiers sit on the floor of the hall and served them stew containing fly mushroom extract. The soldiers exclaimed in delight at the sight of warm food and devoured the stew.

When everyone had almost finished eating, Lydia opened her mouth. “Now that you’ve filled their appetite, what should I do?”

“What?” Lenoa asked back, unable to understand what Lydia meant.

The red-haired woman readily instructed her maids, “Bring the girls in the tower here.”

Lenoa’s heart sank. She couldn’t believe what was happening. “Y-y-you promised, Princess Lydia.”

“Did I say that I was going to kill them? Don’t worry, I’m going to keep them alive. I just want to do as I’ve learned from you,” Lydia said, thinking, ‘How dare that wench pretend to be generous!’ She smiled coldly and whispered to the soldiers, “I’ll give you all a huge gift.”

Women’s screams were heard from a distance, and when Rowena and Marina were finally dragged down to the hall by the hair, the soldiers cheered in unison. Lenoa collapsed to the floor, stunned.

Elena, who was watching what was happening from the kitchen entrance, bit her lips tightly with a ghastly pale face. She was astonished by the sight of her two younger sisters, whose hair had been cut short like that of a man. Once Rowena and Marina were pushed down to the floor of the hall, the rest of Lydia’s maids rushed in to rip their clothes off. In an instant, the soldiers filled with lewd desires let out an even wilder cheer. Angry tears welled up in Elena’s eyes, and her hands trembled.
