Gareth’s men gasped in response to Lydia’s words, appalled by the explicit description.

Lydia’s provocation caused a ringing sound in Gareth’s ears. In addition, his heart pounded uncontrollably, preventing him from breathing properly. ‘Elena… Elena…!’ he shouted in his head as he turned his horse around.

At that moment, Lydia whispered, “Oh, my. Are you that sad? I’m so sorry to hear that. But what can Elena, a vulnerable woman like her, do alone?”

Gareth’s vision went black. He couldn’t see or hear anything, and all he could think about was the black hair that had been in Lydia’s hand. ‘Elena, my wife… my wife!’ Out of anger, Gareth swung his scabbard at Lydia’s head.

“We’ll check to see where Madam is, Boss,” Giggs said as he hurriedly jumped off his horse, preventing Gareth from getting off his horse and attacking Lydia with full force. His superior had made a promise to Ethan, and Giggs believed that the agreement could not be broken. “Think about what you’ve promised to Lord Ethan,” Giggs reminded Gareth.

However, Gareth bent down and grabbed Lydia’s red hair as she sprawled out on the ground.

“Elena moaned and sighed in pleasure until the very end. You must have taught her very well, seeing that she liked what was being done to her.” Despite the blood dripping from her forehead, Lydia continued to provoke Gareth. All the while, she prayed, ‘Please kill me. Please don’t hand me over to Ethan. Just kill me.’

Gareth began dragging her to the castle by the hair. Lydia struggled against the brute force, yelling and screaming from the pain.

“We have to stop him. We must stop him. He made a promise to Lord Ethan,” Giggs frantically spoke to his comrades. Gareth had made an agreement with Ethan, the rightful heir to the throne. Ethan was going to become king after this turmoil had come to an end, and no matter how much Gareth did not care about the king, it was going to be different once Halbert had been taken down. A new king was going to be born, and there was a chance that he might try to tighten the discipline among the lords. This meant that no one could predict what might happen to Gareth in the future if he killed Lydia.

“Boss, she’s lying. Madam will be fine! Hansen and William—” Giggs began, but he was interrupted by Gareth punching him in the jaw.

Gareth started toward the drawbridge, dragging Lydia by the hair with one hand.

Meanwhile, Hansen used Logan’s soldiers he had kept alive on purpose to raise the drawbridge. After he did so, he observed the other side of the wall from the parapet to look for Gareth. Today was the day that Gareth was going to kill Logan, and he was sure that his captain was going to show up.

After the carnage from the castle spread outside, screams echoed from the village, but Hansen did not pay attention to them. The confused and scared villagers struggled to escape the massacre, but Hansen did not intervene and only waited for Gareth. He waited and waited with absolute faith in his superior, knowing that he’d show up soon enough. When he finally spotted him, he could see that Gareth was covered in blood.

“Lower the drawbridge!” Hansen shouted, and with a creaking sound, the chains holding onto the drawbridge were released, causing the enormous structure to fall slowly. Hansen looked closely at the silhouette of his captain, then he realized that another person was being dragged by him.

‘Lydia?’ Hansen realized. The devilish woman who had fled the hall and the castle was being dragged back here by Gareth. The screams she was emitting with her hoarse voice pained Hansen’s ears.

Hansen quickly ran down to the hall, remembering that Elena had been feeling sorry about letting Lydia escape. Now that he knew Gareth had caught her, he couldn’t wait to tell Elena the good news.
