Chapter 155 Blood Rain [Bonus]
"So they want to fight me? So be it, I will crush them all!" the dragon's cold voice echoed through the burned forest, clouds of ash whirling around and the black robes of his minions flapping around.
'They are all above level fifty but likely not too high. If I play my card right, I can gain a lot out of this.' the dragon's golden reptilian eyes were shining brightly, their golden lustre becoming more apparent.
Vesuvius felt much more confident than ever before, with his force quickly growing, making him sure that he could at least safely escape if something went wrong. He just had to ensure he wouldn't catch the attention of truly powerful individuals.
"My minions, enemies, dared once again to attack our land, but this time I will not be just waiting. I will bring an army. Let my priests spread the message of me creating an army to protect believers of the dragon god!" Vesuvius flapped his wings, his massive body lifting from the ground, a plan forming in his head.
A wave of excitement rose between his minions, all of them loudly discussing what army he was talking about.
The dragon launched towards the sky, his body vanishing on the horizon, leaving behind a trail of black smoke. His eyes were set upon the green part of the forest on the other side of the river, which survived the demon invasion mostly intact, his eyes dangerously glittering.
'Time to do something that no dragon ever did, something that will change the balance of this world.'
It was no secret that the greatest weakness of dragons was their solitary nature in combination with their bad personalities and small numbers.
The dragon stopped above the river, each flap of his wings sending ripples through its surface. Immediately the dragon fed his mana into his horns, a bright golden light radiating out of them, its shine increasing with each second.
The river started to move violently, water splashing outside of it with tentacles growing out of it, reaching towards the sky. Soon the water flowed out of the river, rising towards the sky. Flowing and surging around the dragon, forming a large sphere of water around his body.
'Dragons were always too stingy with their blood refusing to use it as a weapon even though it could change everything. We always lacked numbers to compete against other races, but this will fix it.'
The dragon's heart was loudly pounding, burning in excitement about what he was going to do.
Suddenly he bit into his tongue, the red glowing liquid leaking out, mixing with the water flowing around him, painting it in red.
More and more water kept flowing out of the river, joining the red sphere around the dragon, diluting it more and more, but its red colour didn't vanish.
His powerful dragon senses went into override, spreading through the whole forest, feeling for any humans or players in.
There weren't many of them, with natives focused on rebuilding their town and players cleaning demons around the ruined fortress.
Five glowing yellow blades of magma ignited around the dragon's wings, their glow penetrating through the barrier of water and black smoke.
At once, all of them blasted out, dragon horns pulsed, and the trajectory of blades changed, each flying towards a different spot in the forest, like modern precise weapons.

Seeing the notifications confirming that the few players in the forest died, the dragon moved his hand symbolically, and the whole red sphere dispersed into billions of tiny droplets raining over the green woods.
The next moment, loud shrieks and growls erupted through the forest, the red blood raining down. The dragon's powerful magical senses picked up large amounts of magical energy, flaring up through the forest as beasts, animals, and even goblins in the forest threw themself towards the diluted dragon blood, their bodies transforming.
Animals fought across the forest, going against all of the self-preservation, violently battling for the red droplets falling from the sky.
Vesuvius felt more and more blood connections forming across the forest, all of them encroached by his dragon blood.
'Common practice of demons to quickly rise large, expendable armies. Who would have thought that dragons could always do the same.'

'Ohh shit, I think that I just broke the game...' Vesuvius felt like freaking out, knowing that he just did something that was never intended to happen, 'No player should be able to so quickly convert so many monsters but with my dragon blood I just transformed the whole forest, turning them into a horde of levelling monsters.'
Vesuvius couldn't help but grin, he wanted to stop that bad habit, but with the unexpected development, he couldn't help himself.
'Well, maybe it isn't so broken when thinking about how I can easily massacre armies of my own level to farm an insane amount of XP in a matter of hours as I did with the demons, basically gaining new evolution in such a short time... So I guess it is alright?'
Soon he calmed down, returning to his plans.
'They want me to be a raid boss? So be it. They will all just walk to me, turning into a stream of XP, fueling my growth.'
Vesuvius knew that to make his plan sustainable, he had to become a role of an ideal boss, having a large army of mobs between him and the players wanting to kill him as a buffer to give himself respite when needed.
'I need to balance it well. I always need to make them believe that they have a chance of beating me to keep them trying, again and again, without stronger players entering the fray, turning into XP delivery right to my doors.' with his increased strength, he finally felt confident that he could safely play a role of a raid boss, to harvest large amounts of XP.
'Why go out and farm for XP? With my growing army of minions and monsters; and raid parties dying to me, I will just level up from the comfort of my hoard!'
The dragon flapped his wings once more, his eyes set upon a high mountain peek, 'Now is time for my tower. There can't be a boss without a proper arena.'
