The bright light shone out of the massive white gate in the sky. Formations of shiny glowing angels stood before the enormous gate like a roman army, rain of their white feathers of light raining down upon the ground.
The giant black dragon flew towards the gate, followed by thick clouds of black smoke. Yellow and white light was shining from his armoured body, mixing with the white radiance of the gate, his crystal spikes shining in the reflected light.
Magical circles were flaring up in his mouth. Two simple magic circles followed by a square inside of a circle, and finally, a neon red glowing twisted star filled with crooked letters were quickly forming in his mouth filled with sharp teeth.
As he flew with wind soaring around his body, notifications alerting him of new quests dinged in his head.

However, he had no time to think about them as his eyes fell upon the rain of spears of light falling towards the town.
Dozens of blinding light flashes flashed in the town's small area, and the next moment, a terrific cold feeling spread out, pushing against the blazing hot aura of the dragon and the pure and zealous aura of the angels.
Vesuvius felt like banging his head against a stone cliff, 'Why are they now attacking the reaper? Why? They are so fucking stupid.'
It was horrible, Vesuvius feeling like only two things could happen now. The reaper would either get pissed off and attack both him and the angels, blaming them all and turning the whole situation into a chaotic and violent three-sided battle. Or the reaper would just attack the angels as they were the ones to attack them directly.
A black blur launched from the town, a large monstrosity in tattered black robes with shiny black metallic greaves, a mask and gloves covering every part of their body that wasn't hidden under the robes.
Mist and purple light seeped out of the holes in the tattered robes, slowly spreading through the sky.
Large bony wings with purple death energy flowing between the bone structure, replacing the membranes, were slowly and rhythmically flapping on their back.
The reaper held a massive scythe with a shaft at least long as a van. A cold, deadly feeling, screaming with danger, emitted from its blade. It looked like a forged of blackened bones. Purple glowing letters were evenly spread through its blade and shaft.
Vesuvius had no time to think about the reaper as he needed to destroy the gate as soon as possible.
A large sphere of black smoke, white magma and electricity kept growing in his mouth, its radiance and concentration rising as it moved from the first magic circle into the second one. A tremendous amount of magma flowed from the dragon's throat, joining the sphere and fueling its growth.
The dragon moved closer and closer towards the gate, flapping his wings with all of his might to improve his chances of destroying it in one hit.
A large legion of angels moved towards him, flapping their white wings like a flock of birds. They moved forwards, keeping their ranks, none moving out of sync.
In the meantime, more and more angels poured out of the gate, forming lines and formations in the sky.
Finally, a bright white light turned even more brilliant, and a tall angel looking like a massive colossus of shiny engraved silver armour with a bright light leaking through the gaps in it exited out of the gate.
Its three pairs of massive white wings of light flooded the whole sky in even brighter white brilliance, outshining even the sun.
A large and bright ring of light orbited about its head with a large sword of light in its hands, brightly glowing, its light outshining all of the angels together.
An indescribable feeling spread everywhere, seeping into everyone's hearts. It was calming yet threatening, caressing pure and threatening sinners.

'At least it is easy to recognise different ranks of angels. Each rank just adds additional pair of wings.'
The dragon refused to budge and kept flying closer and closer, his horns glowing as the winds pushed him to greater speed. His reptilian golden eyes were brightly glowing, his aura violently bubbling and pushing against the collective might of the angels.
The massive sphere, looking like a volcanic explosion concentrated into a ball, finally exited the circle with a square inside. The whole sphere malformed into a sharp arrowlike spike with glowing orange letters orbiting around its chaotic surface.
The powerful magic radiating out of it caught the attention of the angels, spears of light growing in their hands. At once, they threw it, and dozens of bright white lines of light streaked across the sky.
In an instant, they reached the dragon, raining all over his body. Their sharp tips of angelic light stabbed into his volcanic armour, the black stone disintegrating under the power of light.
The spears of light hit the dragon's massive wings, their tips digging into the crystal material before vanishing in white motes of light. The holes left behind them quickly closed, magic flowing into the nanites in the wings.
Vesuvius had no time to respond to the attacks, his mind occupied with casting his spell as the spike in his mouth finally reached the twisted star. Evil feeling energy seeped into the spike, the white and blue magma in it gaining an evil-looking neon red lustre.
The dragon finally released his spell, and the spike flew out, followed by a loud bang as it reached a speed of a bullet, vanishing into the distance as a tiny glowing star.
The spike flew through the lines of angels, their bodies disintegrating and turning into motes of light as the spike pierced through their ethereal bodies.

As if time slowed, the three-winged angel turned its head, the glow of its eyes increasing as the spike flew by its side at an immense speed. It reached with its silver armoured hand, a sphere of light quickly growing in its palm, looking like a miniature moon.
An even more terrifying holy energy flared up behind the gate, and swarms of pure white feathers, as if carried by the wind, poured out. A burning feeling of purity radiated out, and a pair of pristine white metallic gauntlets with claws of light growing out of them grasped both wings of the gate, pushing time to open the gate faster.

In the meantime, three winged angels almost reached towards the incoming spike, thunders resounding as its hand crossed the speed of sound.
Vesuvius felt like panicking, his eyes managing to catch the movement; however, there was nothing that he could do in time to stop the angel from saving the gate.
His two wide-open eyes fell upon the angel pushing the gate open. He couldn't see anything but a bright, pure light and a swarm of white feathers.
A flashback of his battle against the demon baron flashed before his eyes, 'This angel is definitely of the second sphere, which means at least four pairs of wings, which would make it at least as powerful as the demon baron, if not even more.'
A flame ignited in the dragon's body, his near infinity life force feeding into it, his body growing stronger than before as he prepared for the tough battle.
Suddenly a black scythe materialised out of nowhere, its shiny black blade cutting towards the three-winged angel's hand. The blade effortlessly passed through the metallic gauntlet, severing the palm in its wrist.
The volcanic spike passed by the injured angel, that looked petrified as they watched the glowing spike fly by them and hit the massive white gate.
A loud bang shook the whole sky, magma and acid raining upon the ground. The explosion cracked the gate, white glass-like shards splitting from it.
The red energy spread through the pristine white surface of the gate, looking like pulsing red veins. The gate started to flicker and shrink as its power was sucked away by the energy-eating curse.
"Sinner!" an ethereal and beautiful melodic voice escaped through the vanishing gate before the whole gate collapsed, vanishing in a flash of neon red and white light.
POV Inquisitors:
The inquisitors stood fully armed in a line, their glowing masks illuminating the white room with the glowing altar behind their backs.
"What have you done, you fools!" a short priest with curly blonde hair barged into the room, fuming with rage.
"How could you do something as rashed as summoning angels?!"
One of the inquisitors suddenly stepped out of the line, walking straight towards the priest, stopping only when their faces almost touched.
"Patre, is there some problem? The angels will purify this town from all of the evil and sins!" suddenly, the inquisitor grabbed the priest by his neck, lifting him from the ground.
"Or are you a sinner too when you are so scared?! Good and sinless people have nothing to fear."
He released his grip, the priest falling on the ground with an audible thud as he sprawled with his but on the white marble floor.
The priest struggled to stand up, his eyes wildly moving around the room, sweat pouring down his temple, "N-no, of course not... but... y-you need permission to do this!"
Suddenly a white light blazed from the inquisitor, and four pairs of tiny grey feathery wings tore through his robes as they grew out of his back.
"I have enough of your lies! You are a sinner! I will purify you and your bishop of your sins. Until now, I couldn't believe that the clergy could be corrupted, but finally, my eyes have been opened!"
The priest staggered back, covering his eyes with his hand to protect them from the blinding light.
"Y-you are blessed by a four-winged angel!" the priest turned pale, his whole body shivering under the holy energy radiating out of the hybrid.
"Burn for your sins! My holy master will descend upon this sinful town and smite you all!"
The light enveloped the priest, his cries echoing through the empty white hall as he burned under the cleansing light.
