POV A surviving lucky player:
The battlefield burned in flames, and the few surviving soldiers on the camp's edges breathed out in relief as the wyrm, no dragon, flapped its wings, vanishing into the distance.
The smell of burning was ever present, with clouds of ash filling the air. The fire was glowing through the whole camp, with tattered flags and tents flailing in the wind.
"I have survived! Haha, suck it, system! You told me that surviving was impossible, yet I have done it!" A single player was dancing and jumping in the destroyed camp, his skin covered in burns and all of his hair gone as they burned away.
Suddenly loud howls came from a distance, and dozens of bright spots ignited in the distant mountain canyon. Sounds of armoured boots hitting against the stone echoed between the mountain peaks.
A large army of beasts appeared on the horizon, their armour and weapons glowing in the lights of fires. Their eyes were all flashing, and all of them looked like tanks in their heavy armour and with their heavy statures.
Hundreds of terrifying wolves dripping magma walked before them, loudly grovelling and showing the glowing innards of their mouths.
'Now that I think about it, the quest mentioned army.'
POV Vesuvius:
The dragon flew above through the sky, his eyes brightly glowing as they locked upon the cold aura in the middle of a town under him.
He thought about evolving, but he felt like it would do more damage to do it now, 'I still don't know what I am truly capable of now. Nor are all my abilities evolved. It will be a bad idea to evolve without knowing these. Also, it is the middle of the war. I have enough power, so it can wait until my army starts besieging towns, giving me a short respite.'
His heart was pounding with fiery rage as he looked upon the flags. They were no longer flags of his minion.
Instead, blue flags with a large eagle-like bird with a crown above its head replaced them.
They were flags of the kingdom.
The soldier whirled around the town, manning the towers and walls.
'They are all intruders. They have stolen my town!'
"Where are you? It is time to uphold your part of the deal!" the dragon's voice boomed across the town as he ignored the pathetic ants trembling under him.
Soon a cold aura erupted in the town, cold mist rushing and flooding the streets, enveloping the whole town. A black blur shot out from the ground, quickly rising towards the dragon.
An old man appeared levitating right in front of the dragon holding an old-looking book in their thin, wrinkled hands.
The book looked just like any old book. There was not even a speck of magic in it, nor it looked evil. It was just a plain book bound in plain brown leather.
"I will uphold my deal. Just give me names and their positions so they can be identified."
Vesuvius focused on his pouch, and in a flash of light, a scroll appeared mid-air, the winds keeping it afloat.
"They are all military officials, strategists, officers, and important members of administrative branches of the military. They should be weak enough for you to kill them without any issue."
Vesuvius almost laughed, imagining the chaos that would happen, 'The experienced leadership will die, and a new one will be brought in to replace them. They will all be inexperienced, plunging the whole country into chaos.'
The reaper's gaze swept through the list, his eyes stopping on a few names, "These have too much life force in them. Will they require me to visit them personally? Are their deaths really necessary? Their deaths will cost you more of my favourites."
"No, skip the problematic ones, but slay the rest."
'These eyes of reapers are truly something else. To determine a person's strength on a distance just from a line of text.'
POV The Draconic Knight Johan:
Dark shadows moved through the sky, all of them surrounded by clouds of black smoke. They moved fast, fields and towns under them looking like a blur.
'How am I an evil henchman when my first job is to save a damsel in distress?' The rider on the largest shadow looked down, his golden eyes zooming towards small houses littered through the fields, seeing even small details like individual bricks in their walls.
He wore dark armour with silver ornamental patterns of dragon scales engraved on it. The runes faintly glowed in the darkness, slowly pulsing.
He had little to no training but felt confident in his powerful superhuman body.
A glowing silhouette of a large city appeared on the horizon, dozens of glowing squares piled upon each other. Collums of smoke were rising from everywhere.
The city was huge, with thick and tall walls surrounding it from every direction. Light glowed on the walls, with small dots moving as they patrolled.
"Stay here as a backup. I will meet with our contacts." the knight stood up and jumped down from his mount, his body falling towards the ground like an ingot of lead.
Suddenly a pair of giant wings spread from his back, turning his fall into a fast glide. His eyes glowed, and refreshing winds howled around him.
His heart was loudly pounding in his chest, and his hands shook in the excitement of his first adventure.
He landed in the dark valley and folded back his wings. He immediately scanned his surroundings. There was nothing but a few rats and garbage.
'Pchh, humans are always the same no matter what world.'
The rings on his fingers flashed, his armour vanishing, replaced by black travelling clothes. His horns also vanished, and his eyes changed to natural brown colour.
The unassuming human remained standing in the dark valley, looking like an ordinary well-off traveller. He stepped into the dark street with a smile on his face.
'This is my life! Live of adventure!'
