Dratatatataatata!
The Gatling gun machine was a very troublesome weapon.
[-5100] [-4500] [-3750]
There was a reason why NPC Lucille’s attacks hurt so much.
Dratatata!
Hiro had to jump back and forth to dodge the continuous bullets from the Gatling gun machine while Alice decided to fly high to avoid the explosion, as she wasn’t Lucille’s target.
NPC Lucille continued to attack even though only a few shots hit Hiro before Hiro darted into his shadow and then appeared right behind the half-decomposed girl. He broke her neck, causing her to fall to the ground.
This time, Hiro’s position was even deeper with the NPCs who had turned into zombies. “Damn.”
Hiro glanced at the NPC Lucille’s weapon that had fallen on the ground. It had been separated from her body, which still hadn’t revived because it wasn’t the time yet. Without a second thought, he took the weapon and aimed it at the zombie NPCs.
Ding!
[Congratulations!]
[You have obtained a Vulcan Gatling Gun Machine Level 70 – (Tier A) from looting]
[Special weapon – Unlimited ammunition]
“Wait, what? Can that happen?”
There was only one way to prove it.
Dratatatata!
“Jackpot!”
Hiro used the new weapon he just got to destroy the bodies of the NPCs while moving clockwise on the spot. The weapon was very effective at bringing down the enemy at once. In a very close attack range, the explosion from the gun’s bullets could blow the head of the bloodline demon’s NPCs easily.
Dratatata!
NPC Lucille had revived. “Sorry for this, Lucille.”
Bang!
Hiro kicked the NPC’s head until her neck broke and she fell back on the ground. This time, Hiro shot to finish off the NPCs that got in his way. They were just NPCs, although some had already helped him. But still, right now, they were very wild. It was best for him to destroy them completely.
Dratatatat!
Hiro continued to walk backwards, away from the zombies who quickly respawned back and kept following him. They ran fast when they were revived.
“Hiro, over there!” Alice pointed out the direction where Liberty and the others managed to find a safe location. Hiro nodded and followed Alice’s instructions.
However, no matter how far Hiro stepped away, the zombies continued to chase him as if the rules regarding the monster’s area zone didn’t apply to them. They still followed Hiro and tried to attack him.
“Come to me if you are addicted to dying!” Hiro didn’t need to save the bullets from his weapon he just got.
Even so, Hiro couldn’t possibly bring the zombies into the hideout of Liberty and the others. He couldn’t possibly let Liberty frightened again by being beaten up by those ugly monsters.
“What should I do?” Hiro turned a corner to buy time and then ran again. However, the zombies quickly chased after him at the same speed, as if they had been equipped with a balanced speed buff.
Hop!
Hiro jumped into a ruin that was high enough to be able to see over the area. He was looking for something that could be used as a clue, but his effort was in vain. Nothing looked reliable.
“Damn!”
Dratatatata!
However, the more they were crushed, their running speed increased again, and Hiro just realized that when he was almost caught by one of them. They could keep up with the speed of a Raider.
“Damn, this is getting bad.”
Knowing that made Hiro put his Gatling gun into his inventory, and he focused on running away. It was useless destroying zombies that couldn’t die. It would only make them get stronger, as if they mutated into it.
“Hiro, over here!” It was Liberty’s scream. The girl’s voice was so loud that it managed to summon all the zombies that were chasing Hiro, enough to make half of the zombies distracted from Hiro and change their target.
“No no no, what are you doing, Libe?!”
This time, it was not Hiro who was being chased by zombies, but Hiro who ran very fast to catch up to the Zombies. They had run to target Liberty who was standing behind one of the towers of the Underworld City.
“Not my girl, b*tch!”
SPLAT!
Hiro managed to cut the body of the leading zombie in two after catching up with it.
“Libe run, they’re coming!” Hiro was already standing with his back to Liberty and then pulled out his Gatling gun again. Ready to destroy the zombies running towards it.
However, something surprising happened.
Crash!
As if there was a giant invisible wall 10 meters from before Hiro and Liberty stood up, the Zombie who was running really fast was suddenly bounced back in unison, as if it hit something hard.
Hiro reflex lowered his gun and saw the zombies revived again, then lunged in the same way, but to no avail. They didn’t manage to break through the barrier.
“What happened?” Hiro was completely clueless until Liberty clapped her hands.
“I think I found something interesting Hiro, but Ace forbade me to touch it.” The girl said as she looked into Hiro’s eyes and nodded confidently.
Once again, Liberty’s luck, or could be considered as a skill to find something unexpected still could be relied on today.
“What’s that?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe you know something. Ace said he didn’t know about it either.”
“Show me.”
Hiro walked after Liberty. He glanced back and saw that the zombies were still doing the same thing. “They are really persistent, huh?”
From the zombies’ attacks, he could at least find one new piece of information. That was, he could take weapons from NPCs right now. He just needed to try to take the weapons from the players now. And if it worked, it looked like the game had turned into a giant battle arena.
The air that Hiro felt suddenly changed drastically. The stench was gone, and the wind was blowing against his face. It was really refreshing.
As he looked towards the source of the wind, this time he could see something extremely beautiful in beauty amidst a miserable devastation.
Its shape resembled a tree but did not have a single leaf. It wasn’t so big that it was covered by the giant tower. It was no more than three meters tall and was full of metallic green Tosca, so it stood out from the other buildings. Its surface looked like a tree made of paraffin. Green light seemed to glow from within it.
It reminded Hiro of one of the old games Yuujin had played when he could only watch and play a joystick that wasn’t connected to the game.
“The Genesis Tree. I’m sure about it.”
