Chapter 422 Interrogation (1)

Name:Legacy of the Dark Sage Author:
'Domain...?'

Savagery's crimson eyes contracted.

Impossible.

How could she unknowingly let herself enter someone else's domain? She was a Sovereign. No matter how the Sovereign's Cradle restrained her magic abilities, it could not affect her experience.

There was no way she would fall into a trap.

Kyran did not give Savagery a chance to process the hows and whats of her situation. After all, he did not bait her into entering his temporary world to 'talk.'

He only had one reason for luring her here. And that was to kill her!

It did not matter whether she ended up being an essence only; he would still kill her!

Kyran's eyes glowed silver, with a reddish-purple tinge around them.

A full purple and silver human-shaped dragon-scale armor manifested and covered Kyran's entire body as he charged toward Savagery.

Savagery's eyes widened at the sudden change in the entity's appearance.

When they saw the footage of the Shaiha incident, they speculated that the entity was an ancient beast that could shapeshift into a human. They also thought it wore a panther mask as a testament to its 'real form.' Its dark clothes and bestial parts projection was proof.

Seeing the entity in full-body armor that resembled a human-shaped dragon was not something Savagery had expected!

It changes everything!

Savagery had only met a dragon once, and it was something she never wanted to experience again.

Back then, she had only become the Beast plane's Sovereign and wanted to add as many beasts as possible from other planes to her collection.

However, Savagery was arrogant and reckless and believed in becoming a Sovereign; she could now catch any creature she fancied. That was why she ignored her forefathers' warning about staying away from the Dragon race and went to find one for herself.

However, Savagery's hunt ended with her losing limbs and barely escaping alive.

It was then that she finally understood why their forefathers told them to stay away from dragons.

Dragons are insurmountable beings; their very existence is the definition of power.

The entity's appearance reminded Savagery of her experience. Her whole body shook with fear!

"No!"

Savagery roused her magic runes, and three three-meter radius green rings appeared behind her. She had increased her speed earlier, but if she was to fight a dragon, she needed to be faster!

'Run! I need to get away from it!' was the first thing Savagery thought to do.

But she would not run because she wanted to escape. She would run because she needed time to think of a plan to deal with the entity.

No, that was not quite right.

Savagery did not possess the strength to deal with it alone, and she needed the help of the other two. So she had to tell them where she was and the entity's real identity.

Savagery stepped back and passed through the rings to boost her speed further. After which, she did an about turn and fled. In a blink of an eye, she flew fifty meters away.

Kyran's eyes narrowed. He did not expect Savagery could still summon her magic after cutting off her access to this world's magic energy. Then again, she was a Sovereign; she could store enormous magic energy in her magic core as reserves and use it in emergencies.

But Kyran was not worried. Savagery could use her magic all she wanted, and she could even summon her beasts. In the end, Kyran would destroy them all, and he would squeeze her magic reserves dry.

With a smile that did not meet his eyes, Kyran unhesitatingly used the Void's warping ability and appeared behind Savagery in an instant.

Before Savagery even realized Kyran had already closed the gap between them, he clenched his fist and hit the back of her head.

'Hm?' Kyran furrowed his brows. He was expecting his fist to land solidly. However, Savagery turned into red mist, which instantly surrounded him.

"You think you can land a sneak attack? I've fought your kind once! I know exactly how fast you are!"

The red mist converged into several different points and turned into dozens of slithering snakes, their scales glittering like rubies.

HIIISSS!

The snakes hissed and struck Kyran's body, but then.

SIZZLE!

HIIIISSS!

As soon as the snakes' fangs bit Kyran's armor, their fangs sizzled, and in a matter of seconds, the snakes burst into red mist.

"What—?" Savagery exclaimed in disbelief, forcing the remaining snakes to retreat at once.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Several glittering dark blue and purple blades appeared, slicing the escaping snakes.

HIIIISSS!

"Tsk!"

Savagery turned the snakes into red mist and willed them to cover a hundred meters of space surrounding the entity.

The mist thickened and turned into a gigantic head of a lion.

RAWRGH!

It opened its huge mouth, revealing Kyran inside.

Red magic energies converged around the gigantic lion's inner mouth before snapping close with Kyran still inside.

BOOM!

The gigantic lion's head exploded, causing a cloud of red dust to cover the sky.

Savagery suddenly appeared out of the red dust. Without confirming the entity's status, she turned and fled again.

WHOOOSH!

Several dark blue and purple blades went after her.

'Tsk!' Savagery clicked her tongue in annoyance and summoned five three-meter radius red rings made or runes.

Countless jewelled hoppers flew out of the red rings, keeping the dark blue and purple blades at bay.

Savagery glanced back and smirked after seeing the blades slicing the jewelled hoppers before turning her attention up front.

Then.

Time seemed to have stopped as Kyran appeared before Savagery.

Savagery's eyes widened as the entity's image reflected on her crimson eyes, and he was poised to strike her down.

BAM!

This time, Kyran's fist landed solidly on Savagery's head, and she plummeted to the ground at neck-breaking speed.

BAM!

Kyran disappeared and reappeared behind Savagery, still in the motion of falling, and did a 180-degree kick.

"Gah!" Savagery spat out a mouthful of blood and was blown away horizontally in midair.

Not satisfied with a two-hit combo, Kyran disappeared and reappeared right next to Savagery before her body began to fall and kicked her upward.

"Gah!" Savagery spat out another mouthful of blood.

Kyran sped up and delivered another side kick.

Then a right punch to her face.

A left elbow to her nape.

A right knee to her stomach.

A double hand bash on her head.

Another side kick.

"Gah!" All the while, Savagery could only respond by coughing out blood.

All these seemed to have gone for some time, but it all happened in less than seven seconds.

Finally, Kyran stopped following Savagery and let her fall head first on the ground.

BAM!

Cracks appeared on the ground from the impact of Savagery's fall.

Kyran willed the plates on his feet to descend two meters to where she had fallen.

Savagery remained motionless, but she was conscious. At the moment, she was still rattled by the entity's continuous melee physical attack.

Yes. All of its attacks were physical; there was not an ounce of magic on each of its blows. Her body would have been broken from the first strike if it did.

Why? Why did it not go for the kill? Did it want to torture her to death?

... Again?

Sensing the approaching entity, Savagery's pulled herself up and looked at it. Her appearance looked pathetic, with dark violet bruises and blood on her porcelain white face. Nevertheless, her crimson eyes glowed defiantly.

Kyran stopped in his tracks and returned Savagery's look.

He intended to kill her by only using 30% of the Regis Blessing. But it seemed 30% was not enough to destroy a Sovereign's body. Savagery might be at the Legendary level right now, but it seemed her defences remained that of a Sovereign.

This fact would have disheartened others, but to Kyran, it was proof that the Sovereign of Savagery before him was indeed the real one.

His reasoning was not without basis. After all, when he fought Ruin, he managed to destroy Ruin's body even when he was not using the Regis Blessing.

Then again, his Void magic's attack was too perverse it easily bypassed Ruin's defences.

In any case, now that Kyran knew Savagery was using her real body, then he would no longer hesitate to use his real magic.

But before that, he needed to ask her some questions. If she answered, then maybe he might let her off easy by killing her in one strike.

"Why does a Sovereign from another plane be interested in the Human plane?" He asked.

Savagery's eyes widened. It seemed that the entity did not use any magic in its attacks because it still needed something from her.

If this was the case, then she would buy some time and... and then what?

Earlier, she managed to send out a coded message to her colleagues. But whether it went through or not, she did not know. She did not manage to understand what kind of domain the entity had. Still, it would not hurt to buy time.

When Savagery failed to answer in three seconds, Kyran raised his left hand and swiftly swung down. An almost visible silver claw-like flash rippled through the air and went straight at Savagery's right arm.

"Aaaahhhhh!" Savagery screamed as her right arm was ripped apart.

The slits of her eyes constricted, recognizing the entity's attack was now embued with magic.

To easily slice off her arm without even touching it was something she did not expect!

"We are only invited by the novitiate!" Savagery hurriedly replied when the entity raised its left hand again. "She said she was after a certain clan in this plane!"

Kyran's eyes narrowed at once.

"The Regis clan?"

"H-How...?"

"Why?"

"I-I don't know."

SLASH!

"AAAAAHHH! I-I really don't know! M-Maybe Ruin knows! H-He worked with the novitiate before! H-He would know more than me!"

"Tell me what you know."

"I-I... R-Ruin seems to be looking for someone. T-The novitiate said that person is crucial to her release."

"'Her release?'" Kyran repeated. "What do you mean?"

"I-I don't know—AAAAHHH!"

Savagery screamed as a chunk of her left arm was sliced off again.

"I-I really d-don't know! All I know is the novitiate will not be complete without that person's sacrifice!"
