Chapter 565 Gathering (1)

Name:Legacy of the Dark Sage Author:
Kyran could not help but wear a complicated expression after hearing the exchange between Myst and Raya. They were part of the Regis Special Force and knew the importance of hiding one's identity and avoiding speaking of things that could be used against oneself.

However, the exchange between the two clearly disregarded these. Besides, Raya killing the Boyd member who noticed Kyran's eye color was unnecessary.

'Could this be their way of intimidating their enemies?' Kyran wondered. 'By showing we won't hesitate to kill, they will cooperate more.'

In a situation where one of two opposing sides successfully dominated the other to continue showing their might. If not, the defeated side could regain their composure and find a chance to turn the situation.

Kyran had done this move quite a number of times, intentionally and unintentionally, especially when he intended to make the other side his Sigil.

Then again, after interrogating them, they did plan on silencing them for good. Or, depending on Kyran's mood after the interrogation, he might be more merciful and ask Raya to erase their memories and imprison them.

As for the possibility of taking them as his Sigil, Kyran never considered it. In the first place, even if the Sigil succeeded, he was sure their intense hatred for him would immediately activate the Sigil's seal and kill them on the spot.

In any case, for them to subdue the Boyd Family that fast was thanks to Myst and Raya.

Initially, Kyran wanted to destroy the corpses and fix the Lumley Ancestral Hall to buy some time before the Lumley Family realized what had happened. But he immediately dropped the idea because the Boyd Family already knew what happened and already made a move. Aside from this, if they took Neo, they definitely would try to send their own people to the Lumley Ancestral Hall to clean up and remove any evidence of their involvement.

When he shared his thoughts with Myst and Raya, the two agreed and proposed to hide and wait. Kyran then told them he wanted to interrogate them. Thus, Myst and Raya told him to leave everything to them.

Frankly, Kyran was surprised to learn that Myst also possessed forbidden magic. He even wondered if there were more Regis members with forbidden magic. This possibility reduced Kyran's guilt of putting his clan in danger, albeit a little.

Knowing that there were more forbidden magic users in the family meant the clan was not forced to sacrifice their lives just because of him. Well, his magic was far more dangerous than the others, but once word of the Regis Clan hiding more forbidden magic users went out, it would still spell their doom.

Myst and Raya's plan on how to subdue the Boyd Family appeared puzzling at first. Others might point out that Myst could have used his magic and subdued them right from the start. Why did they have to go through all that trouble?

However, Kyran knew they were trying to grasp what the Boyd family members could do first. Besides, Ingrid was with them. There was no telling if she had an item of ability that could counter Myst's magic. With her position in the Boyd Family, she could also easily send a distress call.

There were too many unknowns. Thus, Myst and Raya chose to observe first.

Raya taunted the Boyd family members so they would randomly attack the surroundings and create a smokescreen for him and Myst to move around. Then Myst subdued the Wind mages because they could easily summon a gust of wind to remove it.

It could also be said that Myst was testing Ingrid when he used his magic. If the latter had a means of freeing the Wind mages, he and Raya would adjust their strategy.

In the end, Ingrid did nothing but gawk before gathering her people in one spot and launching an explosive attack.

Unfortunately for Ingrid, when Myst subdued the Wind mages, he waited for them to gather at one spot for a reason. Even Raya's taunting, which led to Ingrid firing a friendly shot at one of her people, was premeditated.

It was all to ensure that they would gather in a tight circle at the right moment so Kyran could easily move around them and reduce their number.

Although Kyran could use the Dragon Steps to move at an inhuman speed, Myst and Raya did not know that. They only knew Kyran could warp, and they wanted to avoid making him use that. It did not matter whether their identities were revealed. But at the very least, they wanted to protect Kyran's identity.

Ingrid's eyes almost popped in anger after witnessing one of her people killed in her presence.

Was there really a need to kill her? Even though she did not get to finish her sentence, what she was about to say was too easy to guess. Besides, there were other Boyd members who could clearly see the person behind Ingrid. Not to mention, she could also see the two other people with him.

Ingrid could clearly see the color of the two men's eyes.

Dark gray.

Although there were other people who possessed dark gray eyes, the Regis Family's dark gray ones had that piercing look that easily distinguished them from the rest.

"Your people are supposed to be locked up in your own little world," Ingrid said through gritted teeth. "What are you doing in the Lumley Family."

Kyran pressed the blade in his hand on Ingrid's firm neck, "Seems like you're intel's far behind. We're already freed."

"Impossible—ngh!" Ingrid winced after feeling something cold, followed by a hot searing pain in her neck.

The woman, who infiltrated the Lumley Family, ground her teeth in anger and roused her magic. A one-meter diameter red magic array appeared behind her as she growled, "Let go of Lady Ingrid—guah!"

She suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood and fell to her knees.

Myst's eyes glowed silver while he coldly looked at the woman. His right hand was raised, and a dark blue-violet array hovered before his open palm.

"Just because we are kind enough not to restrain all of you doesn't mean we can't," he said coldly.

"The Regis Clan is truly insidious! To have hidden two forbidden magic users!" Unafraid of Myst's warning, the woman glared at him and spat out hateful words. "The rumor that the Regis Clan is planning to usurp the Royal Family is true—!"

A thin red line appeared on the woman's throat even before she finished talking. Then, her expression froze as her head rolled on the ground.

The Boyd members near her could not help but scream in fright as they backed away from her.

However, the blood they expected to gush out from her severed head did not appear. Her body simply fell on the floor.

Every Boyd member turned toward the man behind Ingrid. They did not see him move. But they knew it was he who killed the woman based on his finger that was pointing in her direction.

Even Ingrid tried to have a good look at him from the corner of her eyes.

All of them felt an unprecedented fear creep through their bodies after seeing the coldness in the man's eyes.

Now that they had a better look at him, they realized that he did not seem to be even in his twenties.

Myst and Raya also gaped at Kyran in both astonishment and fear.

It was their first time seeing their young master kill someone as if it was something he did in passing. They could not help but recall the times they had sparred with him. He did not bear any grudge against them even after they had pummeled him back then, right?

"If any of you say anything against my clan, you'll end up like her," Kyran warned them.

Ingrid clenched her fist and tried to activate her communication device inside her storage pouch, using her magic sense.

"Ngh...!" She winced again as the blade on her neck pressed harder.

"You think I won't notice what you're trying to do with your magic sense?"

Boom!

Ingrid and the others nearly jumped in shock as all their storage spaces exploded.

"If you answer my questions, I'll spare your lives," Kyran continued. "If not, just die."

Ingrid's eyes narrowed.

"Kill me, and you will face the wrath of—."

"That slumbering ancestor of your family?" Kyran cut her midsentence.

"How—?"

"Someone used the same threat on me."

Ingrid's eyes widened after hearing this. Even without him saying who it was, she already had an inkling, and it made her heart turn cold.

"Y-You—! What did you do to her?"

"Let's not waste time," Kyran ignored Ingrid's question and looked at the other Boyd members. "Tell me where you've taken Disciple Tyr."

The reason Kyran asked this question was simply that he could not find Neo. No matter how much he tried to establish a connection with the latter, it was impossible. Frankly, the only reason he managed to warp in the Lumley Ancestral Hall was because it was Neo's last recorded coordinates in his tracker.

Kyran could normally warp to where a person he thought of was, but he wondered whether the reason Neo was not really a 'person' prevented him to do that.

The Boyd members looked at Ingrid uneasily. Though they were not afraid of death, if there was a chance they could survive, they did not mind taking that. However, Ingrid was with them, and they could not very well betray the Boyd Family in her presence.

"You will not get anything from us!" Ingrid growled. She was not afraid of death. Even if she was, the fact that these people needed something from them meant they would not kill them at once.

Raya looked at Ingrid with a complicated expression, "Hey, miss. Our young master already said we'll spare your lives. Don't make things harder for you."

Ingrid did not respond and simply gave meaningful looks at the Boyd members. If any of them betrayed the family, she would personally dispose of them.

Kyran did not want to waste any more time.

While he was itching to kill Ingrid, he knew it was unwise to alarm the Boyd Family's Legendary mage. Not to mention, with the Boyd Family making their move, the possibility that Haylee had successfully awakened the Macabre Glacier was high.

No matter how Kyran saw the situation, Haylee appeared to have already completed her preparations. She had also taken custody of 'Disciple Tyr.'

As for Kyran's side, even if the Conclave, Courtenay, Montgomeray, and Euan's side had completed their preparations, the Regis Family was far from it.

There was still no news from his father, and Nolan was still outside, his status unknown.

With this in mind, Kyran looked at Raya and said, "Take over."

Raya politely saluted and replied, "Leave it to me."
