Obstruction got blasted several meters away after getting hit by Kyran's fist.
Kyran did not stay idle after hitting Obstruction. After judging the point at which the latter would land by observing his trajectory, Kyran took a step forward and appeared there in a blink of an eye.
Obstruction saw Kyran disappeared from the corner of his eyes and guessed he would appear at the spot where he would land. Without bothering to turn his head and confirm his guess, Obstruction roused his magic and moved.
The three rings on his back whirred and reconnected, returning to its original disc form. After that, he summoned the Space Isolation. However, his target was himself.
Since Obstruction knew his innate ability would not protect him from Kyran's monstrous strength, he decided to use the Space Isolation and isolate himself until he reassess the situation.
Obstruction was aware of Kyran's physical combat strength. Even if the current Soul Emperor did not tell him about it, he, along with several Sovereigns, had been observing Kyran when he was 'visiting' different planes a few months ago.
Based on their observation, they confirmed Kyran's combat ability did not rely solely on using Void magic but also physical strength. Still, they had judged Kyran's physical combat strength to be better than a combat specialist, but not good enough to be on par with true combat mages.
Thinking back on this, Obstruction could not help but let out a low derisive laugh.
What were they even thinking by assessing Kyran's physical combat strength to be only subpar compared to combat mages?
Kyran was a genuine combat mage! A shocking thing to consider especially when his predecessor was a pure mage.
Oblivious to Obstruction's thoughts, Kyran clenched his fist and prepared to hit him once more. His muscles contracted as he pulled back his arm, then transferring all of his weight on his fist, he stepped forward and punched at the incoming Obstruction.
Before Kyran's fist landed on Obstruction, the space distortion around the latter already attained the required energy to fully isolate the latter.
Kyran's silver eyes narrowed. He did not stop his movement and instead, his momentum increased. In a blink of an eye, his fist landed on the surface of the space distortion around Obstruction.
Similar to what had happened earlier, like a fragile glass, the space distortion shattered.
This result caught Obstruction off guard. He was confident that his Space Isolation would be effective against Kyran's attack because it fully isolated the space in which he was in. Being isolated meant it would prevent him from performing any magic but at the same time, those outside the Space Isolation's magic influence would not be able to affect it as well.
This move was what Obstruction used to trap Nolan during the confrontation between him along with Ruin, and their faction, outside the Human plane.
If Nolan had not broken through to a Sovereign, he would have stayed trapped in that space until Obstruction decided to let him out.
Obstruction did not expect that someone whose mage level remained undetermined, but still lower than a Sovereign could destroy his Space Isolation!
Frankly, Kyran already knew Obstruction's move. He had been paying attention to the movement of the latter's 'disc,' hovering on his back.
When Kyran saw the three disc forming into one huge disc, he guessed Obstruction was about to use the same move he did to separate him and True Void.
Alas, Kyran managed to stop Obstruction from completely activating that move. After which, he attacked the latter.
Did Obstruction think Kyran only 'stopped' his Space Isolation and not 'destroyed' it? If yes, then he was definitely a moron.
In any case, Kyran already knew the magic system Obstruction was using after seeing the rune writings on the disc. He had read so many tablets in the Tower of Tribulations about different magic systems each plane had. Because of this, Kyran already knew Obstuction came from Nuom plane and knew that the disc on his back records only three powerful magic attacks.
Kyran only mentioned three powerful magic attacks because he only saw Obstruction split his disc into three rings. If Obstruction split his discs into more than three parts, then it meant the number of his recorded magic attacks on his disc was more than three.
At that moment, after the Space Isolation was shattered, Obstruction did not wait for Kyran's fist to land on his face again. The disc on his back whirred and clicked three times, before splitting into three. Then using one of the space distortion near them— they were still surrounded by space distortions— a semi-transparent clawed hand emerged from there and the grabbed him from behind then sent him flying backward.
Kyran could not help but frown as his fist landed on the semi-transparent clawed hand's side. It then shattered like thin glass.
Obstruction who was sent flying by his own summoned semi-transparent clawed hand, could not help but frowned after seeing Kyran destroyed it the same way as he did to his previous attacks.
He had been studying his Space magic for hundreds of years and finally he developed it to a point where his magic had similarities to Void magic.
But seeing the real deal confront the 'enhanced' Space magic, Obstruction felt that his previous claim was nothing but empty talk.
Alas, Obstruction might have sensed Kyran's attacks were imbued with magic and was not solely because of the latter's physica strength. However, he still failed to associate the magic Kyran was using was Draconic and not Void.
Now that the Shaiha had stabilized, Kyran's aura, energy and his very presence had been concealed once more.
Nevertheless, even if the Shaiha had concealed everything that could be concealed about Kyran, Obstruction should still be able to determine the latter's abnormal strength was akin to a dragon's destructive strength.
Unfortunately, Obstruction's prejudice that a mage with such powerful magic could only possess one type of magic, made him blind to such an obvious hint. Apart from this, he was not aware about the Human plane's state of affairs, especially about the Regis Clan, which Kyran belonged to, was connected to the Dragons.
'It seems, this new Dark Sage has developed his magic to a different direction from his predecessor,' Obstruction thought, convinced that Kyran's abnormal strength was due to him trying to find a different path than his predecessor. 'I now lost my advantage against him.'
Fortunately, Kyran could not read minds. If he could, then his assessment of Obstruction's intelligence would definitely receive an ultimate low. After all, Obstruction was a Sovereign, how come he was too narrow minded?
Kyran no longer went after Obstruction after he got thrown by his own summoned clawed hand. Although it was not the first time he confronted a mage who would not hesitate to use his magic on himself, it was his first time witnessing a Sovereign do this.
Since Obstruction was determined to stop receiving Kyran's punches, the latter no longer cared.
Kyran did not want to waste time. In the first place, he was not here to be entangled with Obstruction but prevent him and Layla from attacking those in Noser who arrived in the estate.
[Void Halfling, I managed to stop the Macabre Glacier from draining your magic energy and also those in the surroundings, but it is only temporary. It has gone silent but I don't know until when.]
True Void's voice sounded in Kyran's head. In an instant, he sighed in relief as he turned his attention to True Void.
True Void still appeared like a huge vortex with a small 'eye' at a center, and he was still absorbing the magic energies in the surroundings. However, compared from before, wherein he had to strive to ensure the magic energies would not be taken by the Macabre Glacier, he was only absorbing them so as not to waste it.
'Got it,' Kyran replied telepathically before turning his attention to the floating land of Ravenpass.
Since he did not want another mistake where he attracted the Macabre Glacier because of his magic sense, Kyran no longer used it to observe is surroundings.
Now that Draconic energy filled his every pore, Kyran was able to observe the floating land of Ravenpass simply by using his five senses.
[Don't bother trying to find anyone there. Tha Macabre Glacier already took most of the people in Ravenpass inside the mirror.]
Kyran frowned at True Void's words. Since the latter used the word 'took,' Kyran guessed they were still alive but was trapped inside.
[I've taken all their bodies somewhere safe, but their souls are trapped.]
'What? You did not come here from Noser?'
[No. I've been in Ravenpass for a while and— incoming, Void Halfling!]
True Void warned Kyran at once after sensing Obstruction activating a huge space distortion that was tens or even twenty times bigger than the one in Ravenpass.
In that instance, Kyran guessed Obstruction was planning to 'take' the whole Regis Estate just like he did to Ravenpass. However, if he did, what would happen to the Grand Array?
[AAAACK! W-What is happening? M-My core is…!]
Just as Kyran was thinking this, True Void's panic-stricken voice sounded in his head. He did not need True Void to explain what he meant because he already mentioned his 'core.'
But True Void was only using the shape-shifting plates as a temporary body. It did not possess any core. If he was talking about his core then…
Kyran's eyes widened in realization.
Could it be that Obstruction's move affected True Void's real body?
Wait.
How did that happen?
Was True Void's body in the Regis Estate?
"Activate the Grand Array!"
Kyran's ears perked up as he heard a powerful voice reverberated in the whole estate.
