Chapter 916 All Hell Break Loose (12)
In an instant, everyone in the lowest level of the castle's underground was rendered immobile. This included the automatons.
Kyran looked up and saw a white-robed man descending from above. His eyes narrowed as another image of a man in white robes intersected with the one above. Though there were slight differences, which confirmed that the man above was a different person, their bearing and countenance appeared to have been cast in the same mold.
Meanwhile, Breira, Mo, and the rest of the Legendary-level Knights also looked at the white-robed man with grim expressions. All of them possessed high perception, yet they failed to sense the white-robed man's arrival. This fact alone was a testament to the latter's strength.
Breira and Mo also had a different take on the white-robed man's identity. Because they had personally met an outsider, they believed the latter was the same. However, if they looked at the white-robed man's countenance, he also appeared different.
Breira and Mo could not explain it very well. But one thing they were sure of: the white-robed man was not a simple outsider. How they were all rendered immobile upon the latter's arrival was already proof of that.
"I was drawn here after sensing an activity from a high-density energy core. But apart from discovering a rather huge treasure, I was lucky enough to have actually found you."
The white-robed man was none other than Deus, and at the moment, he was looking at Kyran, who was still wearing a silver with dark purple armor.
When the white-robed man had spoken those words, Mo and the Legendary-level Knights with him were only made aware of the others nearby. Since they could not move their body, they could only shift their eyes to where the white-robed man was looking and barely glimpse a figure in silver armor.
Mo was immediately infuriated. He knew at once that the figure in silver armor was part of the rebel faction that Breira likely helped infiltrate the castle. It did not occur to him that the rebel faction had gotten so close to their King!
Mo could also glean clues about the Armakea's current situation by looking at the automatons surrounding the silver armored rebel.
Knowing their King, Mo believed he would not mobilize the automatons if nothing happened to the knights in Larkring— not only those guarding the castle but also those in the Military District. From this, Mo more or less guessed that the knights in the castle were defeated while the Knights in the Military District were held up. Thus, they could not provide backup for the King in time.
If the rest of the aides had joined the rebellion, King Aran would have been hard-pressed not to mobilize his trump card to save the kingdom.
Thinking about the situation up to that point, Mo backed up at the possibility of other aides apart from Breira joining the rebels, and he was infuriated further.
It was quite unfortunate that Mo could not sense who among the knights was removed from the pact. Only when in front of another knight would he sense whether they were still part of the pact or not, like how he did with Breira.
lightsnοvεl Nevertheless, Mo's frustration with not being able to determine who among the knights who were supposed to be protecting the King had joined the rebellion was not a big deal. The important thing was that he could still sense the pact, which meant the King was still safe.
But where King Aran was, Mo had no idea.
Mo could more or less sense King Aran's location, which was in the castle. But where exactly in the castle, he did not know.
On Kyran's side, after the white-robed man had spoken those words, he sorted all the information he gleaned from the latter's words and their current situation.
One, the white-robed man, was not only an Array expert but also a Smithing master. The fact that he knew about energy cores and could sense them was proof of that.
Second, the white-robed man was also after him, Kyran. Why else would the former mention 'being lucky' of finding him if not for that?
Third, Kyran was now sure that the white-robed man was in the same group as that first white-robed man who nearly beat him to death. This Kyran confirmed because of the latter's use of dimension— the strange and troublesome domain-like ability.
Fourth, the white-robed man and the other one before him were likely not after Kyran, per se, but his persona as the silver humanoid dragon. This was supported by Kyran's current wearing of silver armor. Although the designs of both armor were different, those with discerning eyes could easily connect that the man inside the armor was the same from the shape of their body and countenance. It was impossible for two different people to have the exact same figure and countenance, after all.
This was precisely the reason that Kyran managed to see the white-robed man before him was a different person from the first one.
Last, and most important of all, Kyran finally confirmed why these guys were after him, from the words that escaped the white-robed man just now.
"You really could hide your presence. Initially, we only had a very strong suspicion about why that is, but now, I am 90 to 95% sure that our suspicion is correct. You do have it, don't you?"
The Legendary-level Knights could not make sense of what the white-robed man was talking about. Even Mo, who was already infuriated to the point that he could not wait to break whatever spell the latter cast on them so he could go and massacre all the rebels, was momentarily confused.
Obviously, the newcomer was not part of the rebel, but Mo knew he was an outsider. If the newcomer knew the silver armor man, who was part of the rebels, did that mean he was also an outsider?
Did this mean Achim and Kesiah had indeed made contact with another outsider and employed their assistance? But if that was the case, how come the silver armor man's presence was no different from a complete being?
Just what was going on here?
If this had been before Kyran received the Elixir's enhancement, he would have felt rather helpless with the current situation. Although he would not say he was completely without hope, he would still find dealing with the white-robed man troublesome. After all, there would not be a Ruin, this time, to help him. Even if there was, Kyran did not want to owe that guy a second time.
Kyran tilted his head as he regarded the white-robed man; he then replied, "Have what? Don't you know how to speak properly? I can't make sense of what you're saying."
Deus's eyes flickered with interest as he saw the silver armor man tilt his head so nonchalantly. The latter's action might not mean much, but inside a Dimension, especially one that was made by a mage with Deus's caliber, that spoke a lot.
"MEx-δ 54 told me you could barely defend yourself from its dimension. It seems our information needs to be updated."
Because Kyran's armor covered his whole body, including his head, no one saw the look of surprise on his face just then.
Others might not understand what the white-robed man said when he mentioned MEx-δ 54, but Kyran did. Not because he recognized the term but more because of his familiarity with a Smithing master's habit of naming his creations.n--OvElB1n
Putting aside Loar's strange naming sense, he would always include numbers in the series of his creations. However, he would give a second name to all his well-loved creations, just like how he did with his Ar-Lo.
Considering all this, Kyran was surprised to know that the being that beat him up was actually an automaton! Though hearing the white-robed man refer to thatbeing with a number-coded name did not really confirm its identity as an automaton, Kyran knew better. After all, like Kyran, when he created his puppets, he used his body as a reference when creating them. Because of this, most of his puppets bore a semblance to him.
Kyran practically saw the shadow of that being when he first looked at the white-robed man. Add this to the fact the latter knew about energy cores, it could be considered proof enough of the being's identity as an automaton.
"Hm... You seemed unfazed," Deus commented while observing his target's reaction.
Kyran did not respond.
"Don't you know that your silence means you agree to everything I have said thus far?"
Kyran still remained silent.
"Or could your silence be your way of showing your willingness to surrender—?"
BOOM!
Suddenly, a massive explosion occurred above, sending debris falling once more.
Deus looked up with a frown and was about to extend his Dimension when he realized a rift had appeared on the one he had created below.
BOOM!
Before he could react to the sudden turn of events, another explosion occurred, and this time, it came directly from inside the Dimension.
"Did you not know that talking too much is not advised in battle?"
"You—!"
BAM!
Kyran suddenly appeared in front of the white-robed man and immediately unleashed a punch, sending the latter hurling backward.
Deus, dumbfounded at how his target managed to escape from his Dimension, was sent flying. He gritted his teeth and felt somewhat humiliated after remembering what his target had said just now.
'I talk too much? Thus, lowering my guard? Is that what you mean?'
CRACKLE! FOOOOM!
Deus's magic pressure suddenly erupted, sending everyone below to their knees.
"A lowly lifeform in the Lower Realm. Do you think you can discredit me and live? Me? From the Higher Realm?"
