“This will be your reward, 150,000 yale.”
After returning to Jorgen, we received our rewards at the guild’s reception desk in exchange for the certificate of achievement we received from the village chief. In addition, both of us were asked to raise our guild ranks as we had achieved the recommended C rank, and we left our plates with them. A few minutes later, I was given a blue plate, and Earlv was given a yellow plate.
“It was easier than I thought it would be.”
With our first quest accomplished, we decided to have a celebration, and on the way to find a tavern that is open even in the daytime, Earlv smiles and tells me so.
“It took me five years to get to F-rank, though. I didn’t know one skill could make such a difference.”
I said as I too stared at my blue plate.
With [Peerless] and [Level Reset], C rank and even A rank might not be a dream.
We found a reasonable bar, went in, sat down at a table for two around the corner and ordered random things.
“Then, cheers!!”
“Cheers?”
Earlv didn’t seem to know how to make a toast, so I told her that this is how you clink your mug.
“I understand. Then, cheers!!”
“Cheers!”
Again we slammed our mugs into each other.
“So, have you come to a conclusion?”
When the food has been prepared to a certain extent, Earlv starts to say so.
One of the skills disappeared in Arni village.
By explaining the effects of Magic Boost to Earlv in detail, I was able to make her believe that I had really mastered it.
Then, during my return to Jorgen, I was desperately trying to figure out why it had disappeared, but I knew there was only one cause.
“It’s probably because [Level Reset].”
Due to the effects of the level reset, this was my final conclusion.
“I knew it.”
Earlv seemed to have had the same idea, and she looked down with a slightly dejected expression on her face as she sipped from her mug of juice. By the way, she doesn’t seem to be able to drink alcohol, so she’s keeping me company with juice.
“Then, what do you think about [Peerless]?”
She looks up and asks me about something she doesn’t understand with.
Yup. If you think the level reset is the cause, then that’s where the next inconsistency comes from.
[Magic Boost] is gone, but [Peerless] is not gone.
“I have a theory about that, too. Though it may be a forced one.”
I said, and with a look that said ‘let me know’, Earlv urged me on without saying a word.
“My rainbow skills will not reset.”
Itu adalah satu-satunya hal yang membedakannya.
That is the only thing that sets it apart.
A skill learned while emitting a rainbow-colored light that no one has ever seen. If this is the only one that doesn’t reset, then it all makes sense.
“I can’t deny that it feels forced.”
Earlv groaned with a complicated expression, half convinced, half wondering.
“I have my own proof.”
“What is it?”
“Hypothetically. If the rainbow-colored skills also disappear due to the reset effect, don’t you think it would be strange if the level reset itself also disappeared from the skill column?”
“Ah!”
Earlv nodded.
“In other words, it’s not just [Peerless] that hasn’t disappeared, it’s the [Level Reset] itself. That’s where the answer comes from.”
“The rainbow skill doesn’t disappear…? I see.”
Feels convinced, Earlv nodded.
“Then it’s just a matter of getting the rainbow skills to show up. That’s what I’m going to work on next.”
“Yes, it is. For example, if you get the next rainbow skill and it doesn’t disappear, then it’s almost as if Rox’s theory was proven correct.”
I scratched my head as I watched her make a clenched fist and snort.
“But at the same time, it also proves that I can’t get any stronger without the rainbow skills.”
And with hah, I sigh.
Earl raised her voice briefly, “Ah,” and then apologized, “I’m sorry.” It’s okay because it’s not really Earlv’s fault, but it doesn’t change the fact that the problem is there.
I thought only skills didn’t reset, which led to the misconception that I could gain infinite strength.
Now that I know for a fact that it wasn’t, I’m honestly disappointed that my revenge against those who gave up on me is one step away.
On the other hand, I’m only happy about the fact that the traumatic skill of Magic Boost is gone.
“Damn it. I don’t know which one was better.”
I was bewildered by this dilemma and drank my mug of sake down.
After the launch, we had come back to the guild to look for the next quest for now.
However, when I was about to go to the bulletin board, the lady at the reception desk stopped me.
As we headed towards the reception desk to see what was going on, the lady smiled at us, looking relieved.
“Good to have you back. I almost got scolded by the Guildmaster.”
“What’s going on?”
Earlv tilted her head, asked the receptionist lady.
“Yes. Actually, the guild master wanted to meet you guys. I just forgot to tell you that.”
“Don’t lose sight of something so important.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Rox! You can’t talk to her like that!”
I was scolded by Earlv for making the lady gloomy. I didn’t say that hard, though. I’m just saying what it is.
“Alright, so what does Guildmaster need with us?”
“Yes. Actually, the quest that the two of you received, I think it was recommended C rank.”
“Then?”
“It’s actually a recommended A-rank.”
“What?”
I let my suprise fly and Earlv hit me from the side with a thud.
“I’m sorry for Rox keeps acting that. May I ask why?”
“Alright.”
The receptionist lady was slightly freaked out by me and told me how that quest came about.
