“What’s wrong, Rox?
“……”
“Is there something on my face?”
“No, it’s nothing.”
I shake off the slightest thought that crosses my mind.
When I looked at Earlv, she was looking at me with a slightly anxious look.
“I just thought about my skills.”
As if to dispel a terrible thought I return to the topic.
Random Skill. We I probably tell her about its effects as well.
With that in mind, I was about to open my mouth when Scarlett let out a “Mhm”.
When I looked at her to see what it was, there was a bat whispering something in her ear.
“What’s going on?”
I put my explanation to Earlv on hold and asked Scarlett.
“The Wishside has fallen.”
She told us in a quiet voice.
Wishside is the town at the end of Asualev where I was based.
If it has fallen, does that mean that someone has mobilize it to be occupied?
“Bandits? Or are they invaders?”
Asualev is not currently at war with any country. So, these are the two things I can think of.
However, Scarlett shakes her head full-fledged and denies it.
“The mastermind is Forlock Alexander, one of the Seven Stars of Rizebeto.
“The ringleader is one of Liebet’s Seven Star Squadron, Fourlock Arekright.”
Scarlett tells us that, and then she quickly shifts her eyes to Earlv.
Earlv says nothing as she quietly lowers her eyes.
I see. I understand what it means.
“The Knights of the Kingdom have raised an army in Asualev and are trying to retake Wishside. If they continue to clash, a war between the great powers will be inevitable.”
“What do they want?”
Earlv asks Scarlett, her voice trembling.
You know the answer to that question, don’t you?
“They want Nina Yuresh delivered. They say they’ll raise the whole army if they don’t.”
As long as She hasn’t been caught, they will continue to increase the troops. It’s a terrible thing to do, Lisbet.
Why are they so obsessed with just a girl like her?
Then, as I was thinking about this, Earlv started running towards the exit.
“Earlv!”
I stop her with a scream.
“I can’t believe it. You’re not going to go, are you?”
“……, Rox, what are you doing? I’m going to stop the war.”
She answers me without looking back.
“How do you do that?”
I say coldly.
“I’m going to Wishside and beat this Fourlock guy.”
“How do you do that?”
“That’s…. because Rox’s skills are awesome. And Scarlett-san gave you a new skill, didn’t she? If so, ……”
“I don’t get it.”
I walked up to Earlv and forced her to turn to me.
“If you had a plan to save Wishside, and it was a good plan, I would have been happy to help you. If you were willing to sacrifice yourself, if you were willing to take responsibility for your own actions and follow your own ideas, I also would have understood your beliefs. But, what’s this? You threw all the trouble on me! You’ve got to be kidding me!”
I can’t help but raise my voice. But, if I don’t give this girl some firm words, this bad habit of hers won’t change. It’s not like my rainbow skills aren’t all-powerful either.
“If you want to go, go alone. I can’t keep up with your selfish thoughts anymore.”
That’s all I said, and I turned my back on her.
I hope this shows her that I’m serious and that she’ll change her mind.
“Can’t you lend me a hand ……?”
Weakly she asks me, but by not answering anything, she considered it as “no”.
There was silence between us for a while, but it was Earlv who broke it.
“I see…”
She turned her back on me again and began to walk towards the exit.
I see. You made that choice.
“I have no regrets!”
An ultimatum.
But she said without looking back at me.
“Because I can’t abandon the people of Wishside.”
It was the most painful sounding voice I’d ever heard from her.
You’re willing to go to all that trouble? What would make you go that far?
“Hey, Nina. I don’t care if you go, but I have one piece of advice for you.”
Then Scarlett, who had been silent until now, stood up and threw her words to Earlv.
“I understand your noble intentions, but if you focus on them so much that you lose sight of what’s going on around you, you’ll end up in the wrong place. Don’t be hasty, be calm. If you do, people and results will follow.”
Huh? And Scarlett gave me a look. No, don’t swing at me.
“‘Thank you for your advice. But I will go. Even without Rox.”
“I see. Then I’ll say nothing more.”
Scarlett sat back in her chair with a look of relief on her face.
“Rox.”
Earlv calls out to me.
“I’m sorry I ever pushed you around. And thank you. For stay with me until now.”
Then in a resolute voice she said.
“Goodbye, Rox.”
I just watch in a daze as he runs off.
Thinking that this is the second time I’ve had to say goodbye to a girl.
“Well, well, well, Ragnus.”
After Nina leaves, Scarlett calls out to me as she sits in her chair.
Is it a continuation of the story of the rainbow colors? Or will she tell me the location of the next skill crystal?
However, the words released by Scarlett were neither of those.
“You must go to the Whisheside. And help Nina.”
“What?”
I couldn’t believe my ears.
