Chapter 129: Kuo-Toa Tribe

The Death Gorilla Kara nodded before letting Atlas go so he could stand up, remembering that they were on a branch above the murky swamp below. He looked into the distance and wondered what the boss would be next.

'I bet it has something to do with the frog people lurking around here,' he pondered while preparing his weapons. 'Maybe a Shaman or something; that's what happens in the novels.'

Atlas shook his head and checked his status before continuing his journey through the dungeon to level up even more.

'I'm growing so fast; I wonder if the girls are leveling up like me,' he mused while thinking about them.

After doing that, Atlas prepared to continue fighting while feeling refreshed. He used Void Sight to scan his surroundings but didn't see anything. With that, he climbed on Kara's back, and she jumped off the branch to land with a crash.

They rushed across the fifteenth floor, killing any monsters in their way, until something told Atlas to stop running. It was too late, as the ground gave way. He quickly cast Void Step, causing them to appear nearby. Searᴄh the NôᴠeFire.ηet website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Turning around, he spotted the pitfall trap they nearly fell into, 'Did the frog people do this!' Atlas wondered.

While examining that, a sudden woosh of arrows and spells flew toward him, but Kara quickly stepped in front to block the attack using her large frame. She grunted as the projectiles hit her, causing Atlas to spin around and instantly cast Void Barrage, which lit up the large chamber with a bright blue glow.

His spells slammed into a swarm of Kuo-Toa rushing toward them, which caused explosions to erupt all over the place. Frog people were torn apart and thrown all over the place just as Atlas rushed in and started killing them with slashes, stabs, and thrusts with the Nightblade and Blood Knife.

Atlas used his speed, magic, and weapons to slim down the horde, but eventually, he was pushed back when bigger Kuo-Toa's appeared. He crossed his blade before he was sent flying across the chamber when one of the monster's fists crashed into his defense.

Kara moved in and punched one of them as she tore into the others. Atlas recovered as he got to his feet, and more Kuo-Tao people charged at him. He started deflecting their shabby swords and spears that aimed at his torse as they tried to encircle the two.

While this happened, a notification popped up when he saw the monster, which shocked Atlas but excited him simultaneously as it meant he was closer to finishing the second Sub-Boss.

[Sub-Boss Two: Kuo-Toa Tribe Leader - Floor fifteen]

'A tribe boss! What the hell is it with this dungeon,' Atlas thought as he plunged Nightblade through one of the bigger frog people.

Its corpse crumbled to the ground while Atlas cast Void Barrage again, tearing the enemy apart. As he did that, he spotted Kara going down after she was swamped by the bigger creatures, causing him to rush to her aid.

'I'm sorry, Kara, there are too many monsters,' he thought as guilt riddled him.

He started flinging Void Bullets at the swarm of monsters attacking her, but it was no use; she vanished as the creatures jumped all over her. When Atlas saw this, he became angry and started slaughtering every Kuo-Toa he could find.

Without a slither of mercy, he hacked, slashed, burned, and decimated the tribe until he came upon the leader. Atlas saw the monster standing six feet tall, dressed in shabby armor, carrying a massive club.

Atlas watched the newcomer with a growing smile beneath his helmet. Around them, the other frog people formed a tight circle, their eyes fixed on the larger one, who let out a vicious roar.

The crowd erupted into a frenzied cheer for their leader, causing the arena to tremble and prompting Atlas to growl in annoyance. He focused on the imposing monster, trying to discern whether it was of Rank C.

[Koa-Toa Tribe Leader]

[Rank: C - 500 Exp]

[A strong Sub-Boss - Move quick but striker quicker]

'Oh, a high-ranked monster!' he smiled while readying his blades and bursting forward like a missile, shocking the surrounding monsters.

The leader was thrown off as he struck the monster's ankles and knees, causing the Sub-Boss to stumble forward. However, Atlas cast several Void Bullets into its back, and when that happened, the rest of the tribe suddenly attacked.

Atlas had to bob and weave around weapons, tails, and teeth, but every time he moved, a monster dropped, leaving behind its cores. The battle continued as he became overwhelmed by the sheer number of the creepy frog people.

'I need some help,' Atlas considered while blocking several attacks. 'Maybe I can test out more dungeon monsters.' Your next journey awaits at m v|l-e'-NovelFire.net

He used Void Step to clear some space-activated Dungeon Conquerer and spent a large chunk of his mana to summon the Rank C Dreadfiend knight. The black armored knight stepped through the portal, holding a sword and shield.

When the Kuo-Toa leader spotted Atlas's backup, it roared in anger before charging forward, only to be stopped by the knight who blocked its swing while slicing through its side using the sword.

The two Rank C monsters battled while Atlas rushed around the chamber, using his weapons and magic to slay many of the remaining Koa-Toa. Blue projectiles flew all over the place, causing the monsters to try to get out of the way.

After that, Atlas finished the surviving frogmen before turning to the leader who had just battered the Dreadfiend Knight, who skidded along the arena's floor. He rushed toward the Sub-Boss and slung several Void Blasts at the monster, causing several explosions all over its body.

The force of the cheer sent the Koa-Toa leader crashing into the arena's wall. Seizing the opportunity, the Dreadfiend Knight charged past him, driving its sword through the monster's chest.

At the same moment, Atlas executed a Void Step, appearing beside the creature. He aimed his hand at its skull and fired a Void Arrow, which shot through and pierced it cleanly. The giant frog man went limp as the experience flowed into his body, and the knight stood at attention behind him.

Atlas caught his breath as another notification popped up. It made him smile, and he thought, 'Two down, two to go. It shouldn't take too long now.'

[Sub-Bosses: 2/4]

Then, he started collecting the one hundred Rank D Monster Cores, which glowed a beautiful green. Atlas stored them all before spotting some other loot that caught his eye and caused him to pick it up.

The silver bracelet looked similar to the Lover's Band but was decorated with beautiful blue gems. When Atlas saw this, he scanned it to see if he would benefit from wearing the jewelry.

[Bracelet of Vitality - Gives the wearer one hundred in Health, Strength, and Stamina when equipped]

[Rank: Rare]

[Level: 5]

'Fighting the frog tribe was worth it for this but there in two more things,' Atlas pondered before turning his attention to the blade that lay where the Kou-Toa Leader fell.

He picked it up and scanned it on to be amazed.

[Deepforge Blade - A blade made from a rare metal that comes from the Titan Sea's underwater caverns]

[Rank: Rare]

[Level 2]

'This can replace the Blood Knife,' Atlas internally mused while examining the weapon.

It featured a dark blue blade nearly the size of his forearm, with a handle crafted from the bone of an unidentified monster. Atlas swung it around, causing him to think, 'This feels right and its the same rank as the Nightblade.'

Atlas stored the weapon on his belt before picking up the red core and heading to the sixteenth floor, as the Dreadfiend Knight followed behind. While walking down the stairs, he used his skill to pull up the dungeon stats.

[Floor 1: Monster Ranks: E-G]

[Floor 2-5: Monster Ranks: G-E-D]

[Sub-Boss: Dark Ant Queen - Floor 5]

[Floors 6-15: Monster Ranks – G-E-D]

[Sub-Boss: Koa-Toa Tribe - Floor 15]

[Floors 16 – 26: Monster Ranks – D-C]

[Sub-Boss: ??????]

[Floors 27-37: Monster Ranks – C]

[Sub-Boss: ??????]

[Floors 38-40: Monster Ranks – C – B]

[Boss: ?????? ]

'Interesting,' he thought. 'Maybe the Dungeon Boss won't be corrupted like the last one.'

Following that, Atlas entered the sixteenth floor and rolled his eyes when he saw the scene before him, 'Another creepy tunnel! I wonder what monsters will be lurking down here.'

He steeled his determination and checked on the Dreadfriend Knight, standing behind him, ready for a fight. Atlas entered the dark passageway and noticed it was damp, and the smell of mold hit his nose.

Atlas scanned the tunnel but couldn't see any monsters, causing him to think as he stepped in a puddle, 'This place is a nightmare in the making.'

The tunnel was big enough to fit a carriage with some room to spare. Atlas soon reached a junction and didn't know where to go before activating Dungeon Conquerer, summoning the Stonecrawlers, and ordering the insects to scout ahead while he waited.
