Chapter 144: This Shouldn't Take To Long

Atlas watched the old Captain Sunny laugh before speaking, ''Just like my eldest. He is fighting in the Achaemenid Army and loves it. The boy is up north in the Wildheart Kingdom, helping in the big invasion the First Prince leads.''

After that, Sunny told him to return in a few hours as his crew had some business to finish before they left. Atlas agreed and said goodbye to the two men before leaving the harbor to find somewhere to sit.

'Let's relax until they're done,' he smiled while walking down the main street.

It took him ten minutes to find a park where he sat down and pulled out a Forest Boar Meat Box before he started eating while people-watching. Atlas saw families passing by with smiles on their faces.

When Atlas saw this, he grew jealous and resentful, which has always annoyed him. 'It's not my fault that she threw me away. I was a good child and didn't cause her any trouble.'

He grew frustrated and angry but soon calmed down as all the bad memories were in the past. Atlas now had a new life to enjoy, and hopefully, this time around, he could find people who loved him.

'Well, Luxia did say I'd find that here,' he wondered. 'But I do have to fight Chaos to achieve it.'

It was something he was lacking in his past life on Earth. Once Atlas finished the food and thinking to himself, he let out a burp before waiting for Captain Sunny and his ship to be ready.

After twenty minutes, he slowly walked back to the harbor, where he saw dozens of people rushing about. While walking through the streets, Atlas spotted a board with wanted posters and soon saw his face, which made him chuckle.

'They will never find me,' he thought.

He laughed before continuing into the harbor, where the captain directed his sailors onto the ship. The old man turned around when one of them pointed him out, and Sunny waved him over, ''Come here, boy! We are ready to leave before the storms hit.''

Atlas approached as the old man continued, ''We have to sail along the Kraken's Abyss Sea because Raham River has sunk a few ships on their journies.''

''Okay. Thanks for giving me a lift,'' Atlas replied before stepping on board.

The ship was big enough to fit a hundred sailors and enough storage room to trade across the empire, which surprised him. Captain Sunny ordered one of his men to lead him to the guest room after Atlas paid gold for passage. A couple of hours later, he was lying on the room bed as the trade ship left Elysion while the sun started to set. The rest time allowed him enough time to try to cull some of the Void Bears to unlock more monsters.

He activated his skill Void Realm and his consciousness was sucked into the creepy tower realm. Atlas reappeared outside a tunnel entrance, causing him to summon his weapons and armor before readying himself for a fight.

After doing that, he checked the monster total.

[Cave Void Bears – 1211/2000]

[Brute Void Bears – 8/10]

[Void Bear Queen – 1/1]

'Nearly half way done with the Cave Bears,' Atlas mused with a smile. 'This shouldn't take too long.'

Following that, he stepped into the tunnel entrance, and a roar rang out as one of the giant bears rushed toward him. Atlas grinned before acting Void Blast at the monsters, which caused a dust cloud to erupt.

'This should be easier due to my high level.'

The Cave Bear survived the attack but was almost dead, so Atlas thrust Nightblade into its forehead. His attacks caused the monster to spasm before vanishing into azure motes, which made him smile.

Atlas continued down the tunnel and started battling with more Cave Bears until he exited the tunnel after an hour of intense fighting. He smiled before checking the monster total to see how many he killed during his trek.

[Brute Void Bears – 8/10]

[Void Bear Queen – 1/1]

'A few more tunnels, then I'll be able to clear the Cave Void Bears,' he thought. 'Now, let's move on to the Savage Bears.

He continued walking along the passageway with high cliffs on either side, causing him to grip his blade fighters as the bears roared in anger. Atlas watched as the smaller bears slid down the side of the stone.

'Are these stunt bears? Why are they acting like they're in an action movie?' he chuckled.

The first Savage Bear reached him and tried swiping at his torso, but Atlas sidestepped the attack before plunging Deepforge into the monster's skull and blocking another set of claws that caused sparks to fly.

Atlas gritted his teeth as the bear was on top of him, but he quickly cast Void Wave, causing the monster to get sent flying. He started taking out more Savage Bears that vanished into the Void Realm.

'There are too many of the damned things,' Atlas thought while thrusting his blades into a bear's forehead.

He continued fighting until his arms grew tired and weak from killing too many monsters. The exhaustion caused him to sit down and rest while checking the Void Bear total, which made him smile because of how much it had gone down.

[Void Bear Queen – 1/1]

'Halfway on the Savage Bears while there are a few more Cave Bears to deal with,' Atlas mused while resting.

Following that, he checked his status while no monsters were around to bother him and was happy with what he spotted the gains.

'Six levels for all the previous kills back in the real world,' Atlas pondered with a smile before continuing his journey through the Void Mountain Range.

He continued walking through the mountain range and killed even more Savage Void Bears, who tried to overwhelm him with numbers. But thanks to his magic, it wiped them out in azure flames, causing the total to drop.

'My magic and spells are getting stronger,' he internally celebrated.

Soon enough, he came to another valley where the third Brute Void bear let out a roar that shook the ground. Atlas grinned as he stepped into the arena, knowing he could easily fight this monster.

'This will be fun,' he pondered with an excited smile. 'But I will keep moving and won't let the monster catch me.'

His pulse quickened as he drew his blade, eyes locked on the arena's newest threat. The towering, polar bear-like beast thundered toward him, its heavy footsteps shaking the ground.

This made his grin stretch wide with anticipation as his blood started pumping. Atlas waited, allowing the creature to close the distance, savoring the moment's tension. At the last second, he smoothly leaned back, narrowly evading the razor-sharp claws.

He countered with a swift, precise slash to the monster's wrist in one fluid motion. The Brute Bear let out a roar of fury as blood flew all over the place, its anger fueling the intensity of the battle.

Still, Atlas peppered it with a dozen Void Bullets before they exploded on impact, causing the shockwave to wash over the arena. Then, he slung several Void Arrows that pierced the creature's thick hide and blew chunks off it.

The Brute Bear was enraged, and its attacks grew slower, allowing him to strike quickly using his swords. 'It's much easier since the first time I fought one of these creatures,' he pondered while dodging a swipe from its giant claws.

Half an hour later, the battle ended when Atlas cast a Void Bomb at the injured monster, causing the arena to erupt into chaos. He used Void Guard to defend himself against the shock wave.

Atlas watched as the Brute Void Bear collapsed to the ground with a crash, causing him to smile. 'At least it's dead now, and I can move on to clear the other monsters,' he thought while cleaning his blades.

He sheathed them before exiting the arena; Atlas was walking up the side of a mountain as it was the only way forward. While doing that, he checked on the Void Bear totals to see how many monsters were left to kill.

After that, Atlas continued his journey and came across a group of Cave Void Bears lurking outside on a mountain ledge, which caused him to think, 'What the hell are they doing? Maybe a tea party?'

He noticed the bears were chilling in a rough circle, which confused him even further, but that's when he cast Void Bombs at the center of the gathering. When the spell sliced through the air, the monsters turned to him as the projectile hit them.

'Take that!'

A thunderous explosion ripped through the mountain, instantly shaking the ground and obliterating the creatures. Atlas grinned, a spark of excitement dancing in his eyes. "Now that was a blast," he thought, feeling the surge of adrenaline.

As the dust slowly cleared, he scanned the area. Not a single Cave Bear remained. Satisfied, he pressed forward, stepping into the looming tunnel, ready to face whatever beasts awaited him next.
