Chapter 149: Southern Eagles

Atlas and Theo flew south until they came across the city named Khaligat, which he had heard about from Captain Sunny. He decided to withdraw the gold coins from the bank if it had one. After that, he told the Blood Bat King to descend to the ground.

When the monster touched down, Atlas jumped off before dismissing it and returning to the Dungeon Realm as he approached the city. He finally reached the road and activated Maskweaver to disguise himself once again.

This time around, he had blue hair and eyes. Atlas was pleased with this and was stopped by the city guards, ''Halt, young one! What brings you to Khaligat City?'' a tall man said.

Atlas had to look up before answering, ''I have to register some completed quests and visit the city bank.''

The man nodded, ''That would be one silver to enter,'' he said while writing down something.

He paid the toll before entering the city and seeing the same as the others he'd be in. Atlas started looking for the guild. It took him about an hour to find it, causing his frustration to vanish when he entered.

Atlas approached the counter and waited in line to inform the guild of all the quests. By the time he reached the front, he noticed it was a young man who looked at him with a friendly smile and spoke in a jovial voice, ''Hello, adventurer. How can I help you today?''

He took out all the bandit cards and goblin ears needed for proof and handed them to the shocked man with the five quests. The guild receptionist shook his head before asking, ''Can I have your Adventurers Card, please?''

''Okay,'' Atlas replied while handing over the black card and starting to hit a device that scanned all the proof, quest slips, and guild cards.

Five minutes later, the man returned the card with thirteen gold and forty silver coins as a reward. Atlas was happy and asked where the nearest dungeon was. He learned one was a few miles west on his route to the Greenskin Confederation.

After that, he left the guild and searched the city for the bank. He soon found it, only to be surprised. Big soldiers guarded it in powerful-looking armor, and the name was Ironstone Bank, which interested him.

Atlas entered the place, but as soon as he did, he felt eyes on him as he approached the counter, behind which sat a beautiful woman. She looked up and spoke, ''How can Ironstone Bank help today, boy?''

Once she finished speaking, Atlas handed over his Adventurers Card, saying, ''I want to withdraw my coins, please.''

The woman nodded and took it before scanning it with a device similar to the guild, which caused a beep to sound out. A few minutes later, she put a large pouch of coins on the counter, saying, ''Here you go, five hundred gold coins paid to you by a city mayor to the east.''

He nodded before sending the pouch to storage and leaving the city. While approaching the western gate, he spotted a spellbook shop and decided to check if it had any void spells he could learn.

Atlas entered the shop as the doorbell chimed, and inside, he spotted fellow adventurers perusing the shelves. His attention quickly shifted to the rarer spells, where he discovered three intriguing void spells that caught his interest.

He scanned the spellbooks to see the basic information.

[Void Lance – Launches a spear of dark energy that pierces through enemies and explodes, taking out a group of enemies]

[Void Veil - Covers the area in darkness, causing targets to go blind, but the caster can still see]

[Void Infusion – Infuses an object or environment with void energy, granting it special properties or effects]

'These will be useful, I will learn them while camping tonight,' Atlas mused before taking the books to the counter.

When the shop owner saw this, his eyes widened with fear and shock as he looked at Atlas, who ignored the look before asking, ''How much for these three spellbooks?'' Experience new stories on m v|l e'-NovelFire.net

The older man shook his head before replying, ''Fifteen gold coins, Azhar'Zul. May the Path guide you to paradise.''

Atlas's eyes widened in shock, but the man spoke quietly, ''Get out of the empire as soon as possible. The Immortals and Owls know you're disguising yourself and using the Void Realms Monsters.''

His eyes widened even more as his jaw dropped when he heard this. The shop owner smiled while holding his hand for a handshake before continuing, ''The Path has shown me many things over the years; I'm David, and I'm sure we will meet again.''

Then, Atlas dropped fifteen gold coins and shook his hand while introducing himself, ''Azhar'Zul, and it seems this Path has plans for me.'' seaʀᴄh thё Novёlƒire.n(e)t website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Following that, the man told him to leave the city as the enemies would have a way to find him thanks to his rare element. When leaving the shop, he saw several Nightowls running along the rooftops as the Achaemenidian soldiers were swarming the street, which made Atlas nervous.

He rushed down the main street while heading for the west gate, thinking, 'Maybe they have some form of magic to find me. At least now I know, so I'll keep one step ahead of them using my monsters.'

Soon enough, Atlas spotted the same pink-haired princess who captured him riding a horse through the city square while hiding toward the city mayor's manor. He knew she was here to look for him, but he was already leaving.

Atlas proceeded through the city, passing through the gate and down the road. Suddenly, a swarm of foot soldiers burst out, pointing directly at him. Seeing this, he bolted into a frantic run toward the nearby woodlands.

While they started chasing them, he went to summon Theo, but several screeches could be heard, causing him to look up only to see flying monster riders. Atlas was started but still managed to scan the new enemies.

When Atlas saw this, he instantly cast several Void barrages that scattered the ten Southern Eagles, allowing him to summon the Void Raptor King, who roared when he appeared from the azure portal.

He quickly jumped on its back before shouting, ''Run! We need to get out of here.''

'Yes, master!' the monster replied as he exploded forward while dodging the eagle's talons.

While running, Atlas thought of a name for the king and smiled excitedly, ''Your name will be Drax.''

As soon as the words lift his lips a blue glow washed over Drax's body causing him to speed up even faster. This shocked Atlas, but the monster's voice rang out, 'When the Voidwalker names a void monster, they are imbued with more power as they earned his trust. Now we can help each other even more.'

Following that, the eagle riders continued chasing Atlas, who peppered them with spells as Drax kept out of their pursuer's talons. The dinosaur even managed to talk one down by biting onto its leg and slamming it into the ground.

The chase was on, and the other riders were enraged as losing one of their own caused their determination to soar. Atlas cast Void Bomb but didn't release it briefly before sending it flying into the enemy's center.

It exploded with a massive boom, sending some riders plummeting to the ground below and causing chaos. Atlas started laughing before vanishing into the woodland and losing the Achaemenidians.

Drax continued running and jumped across a river before reaching a set of mountains, which caused the monster to stop running. It spoke nervously, 'A Titan resides in this place, Master. We shouldn't be here.'

Atlas was just about to speak when an enraged roar rang out, followed by even more, which scared them. Drax didn't wait for the command and sprinted away from the incoming monsters.

He turned around only to see a massive lion chasing after them, which caused his blood to run cold. Atlas knew what to do and quickly summoned Theo, who snatched him off Drax's back as the Raptor King returned to the void.

The Blood Bat King threw Atlas on its back as the Titan Lion lunged at them. Theo quickly dodged the attack and ascended before the monster could get them. This allowed him to scan the newcomer with Void Sight.

Atlas urged Theo to fly faster, which the monster did until it came to a town that was a stop-off point for two bridges that traders used. He ordered the bat to land in the nearby woods so he could dismiss it without being seen.

Theo nudged his head against Atlas with a concerned look, saying, "Stay alert, Master. Call for me if you need anything."

Atlas chuckled and patted him reassuringly. "Don't worry, Theo. I'll summon you if the need arises. See you soon."

Once Theo vanished, Atlas spread out his map and pinpointed his location. He saw that he was in the town of Neronia. Determined to prepare for the next leg of the journey, he set off toward the town to purchase a new tent and plan his route.
