Chapter 153: Useful To Me

The journey to the Nivara continent to the west took longer than expected because the captain had to divert due to a vicious storm that threatened to capsize the massive ship in the middle of the ocean.'Beautiful but deadly,' he thought while admiring it.

When Atlas spotted it in the distance, it made him nervous as the clouds were the darkest he had ever seen. They had to avoid going further south due to the sea monsters that sink most shipping.

During this time, Atlas kept trying to complete Level Three of the Void Realm and managed to bring the Void Golem numbers down. While sitting on his room's balcony, he checked the monster total before jumping back in.

[Void Golem – 996201/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 499876/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 100000/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

'This is taking its sweet ass time, but I can feel the overall improvement when finishing every session,' Atlas pondered with a smile.

The sun was high in the sky, and he watched a pod of whales swimming alongside the ship. Atlas noticed after the first day on board that the crew dumped food over the side, and all the monsters would scramble to eat it, which caused fights among them.

At one point, a giant enraged shark charged at the ship, but the security blasted it with a few powerful spells, sending the monster fleeing into the deep. It looked like a giant Great White Shark that was four to five times the size of the ones on Earth. It was dark in color and had bright red eyes, allowing him to track its movements. When Atlas saw this, he was curious and scanned it before it dived down to find out what rank it was.

[Terror Jaws]

[Bloodthirsty Titan of the Death Sea]

[Ranks: S - 10000 Exp]

[Don't you fucking dare, boy!]

Atlas chuckled at the warning before thinking, 'I'm not going to fight that monster! Not yet, anyway.'

He remembered the Dungeon Realm and decided to check it out to see what it was about. Atlas activated the skill only to have his mind sucked into a strange world that was just grasslands stretching far into the distance.

When Atlas saw this, he was amazed before turning around, only to see two large portal doorways that confused him, but he soon guessed it was the two dungeons he had completed so far.

'That means this one is the Deathly Hollows and the other is the Scattered Chasm,' Atlas mused excitedly. 'Let me see if I can pull up a list of monsters I could use.'

DEATHLY HOLLOWS:

[Monster Rank C: Cave Troll, Dark Termites, Rock Wyrm, Umber-Hulk]

[Sub-Bosses: Queen Dark Ant - Kuo-Toa Tribe - Umber-Hulk King - King Troll]

[Boss: Chaos Shadow Wyvern]

'So many, and this is just the beginning,' Atlas thought excitedly. 'Let me pull up the Void Monster list.'

[LEVEL 1: Voidstalkers – Void Raptors – Void Raptor Warrior – Void Raptor King]

[LEVEL 2: Savage Void Bears – Void Cave Bears – Brute Void Bears – Void Bear Queen]

'Two Dungeons and two levels for the Void Realm,' he smiled. 'I can't wait until I unlock more monsters.'

Then, Atlas activated Void Realm to retry Level Three and wanted to clear more Golems. But the one thing he was happy with was that his mana had increased, thanks to all the magic he used to fight.

He reappeared on the plateau just in time to hear the rumble of approaching Golems, their heavy steps shaking the ground. Without hesitation, Atlas cast Void Infusion, enveloping his blades in a radiant azure glow of mana.

'Thankfully, this spell makes it easier to slice through the dark stone,' he thought with a surge of excitement.

The energy pulsed through the weapons as he charged forward, slashing through the advancing stone constructs, causing them to turn into azure mots before returning to the Void Realm.

Atlas cleared some space behind him using Void Wave that sent some monsters flying into the rough waves below as he deflected several attacks from a Void Warrior Golem before slashing through the back of its legs.

'Get down here!'

It collapsed to the ground with a crash as Atlas cast Void Bomb into the swarm of Golems, which annihilated hundreds of them. The battle continued for an hour until he felt exhausted from using so much of his mana.

Sweat streamed down Atlas's face as he summoned Void Guard, deflecting blows from the relentless Golems. With a swift cast of Void Wave, he sent the monsters reeling backward, buying himself a moment to catch his breath.

But just as relief washed over him, something new appeared on the battlefield, something that sent a chill down his spine. His eyes narrowed, and without hesitation, Atlas activated Void Sight, eager to uncover the identity of this mysterious newcomer.

[Void Golem Commander]

[Controls the weaker Golems]

[Rank: B]

[This is going to be a tough fight, boy! Use all that you've learned to win]

When Atlas saw this, he braced himself as the Golem Commander fired an Earth Blast in his direction. He yelped and quickly cast a Void Guard, which managed to block most of the attack, but he was sent skidding backward.

His arms were trembling as he coughed up some blood before dropping to his knees as pain racked his body, 'What the fuck happened? I blocked the attack, but it did this much damage.'

Atlas glanced up, his breath catching as the Golem Commander loomed. Exhaustion weighed down his limbs, but he forced his hand to rise, channeling his remaining energy into casting several Void Bombs.

The azure projectiles hurtled through the air and struck the massive creature with a resounding impact. A second later, a loud explosion erupted, shaking the plateau and sending shockwaves through the battlefield.

Atlas jolted back to reality, his heart racing as he found himself on the balcony, the storm outside growing fiercer by the moment. The phantom pains from his battle lingered, but he pushed them aside, his focus shifting to his grumbling stomach.

'I need to eat something.'

He reached into his Dimensional Storage and pulled out a Dragon Meat Feast. The rich, sizzling aroma filled the air, making his mouth water in anticipation. As he savored each hearty bite, the tender, flavorful chunks of meat quickly disappeared, satisfying his hunger.

'Better eat before I start exploring the ship,' Atlas thought, savoring each bite.

While eating, he checked the total number of Level Three monsters to see how many Golems he had wiped out.

[Void Golem – 995403/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 499813/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 99999/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

Atlas continued eating, observing the stormy waves crashing against the ship's side and causing it to shudder. 'This weather is dangerous,' he thought, 'I'd hate to fall into the water.'

After finishing his meal, he discarded the scraps into the bin and dismissed his gear with a thought. Noting the grime on his clothes, he decided it was time for a bath. Atlas then went to the bathroom, eager to clean himself up.

As Atlas stepped into the small bathroom, he filled the tub with water, stripped off his clothes, and sank into the soothing embrace of the bath. The warmth enveloped him, bringing a sense of peace.

He dried himself off, dressed, and was about to leave when he saw his reflection. For a moment, the old him—the one from Earth—stared back. And just like that, the bad thoughts came flooding in.

'I'll never know why she left me… or why dad disappeared,' Atlas thought, his gaze locked onto his deep blue eyes, searching for answers he feared he'd never find.

While doing that, he remembered a quote from a book his mom always read to him before she abandoned him, 'You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.'

Atlas quickly averted his gaze from the mirror, stepping out of the bathroom while activating Maskweaver to disguise himself again. As he crossed the threshold, he could have sworn he heard his dad's soft and familiar voice whispering, "Stop stressing, little one. Live a little."

He spun around, instinctively gripping Nightblade, ready for anything. But there was nothing. The space echoed with silence, making his heart pound. Paranoia crept in as he scanned the room again before shaking off the unease and heading out of his cabin.

'What is going on with me?' he thought before shaking his head and walking down the stairs that led to the entertainment section.

While exploring, Atlas found a place that sold milkshakes and bought a strawberry before finding a balcony to sit out on to see what dungeons were on the Nivaria Continent.

'There's five that could be useful to me,' Atlas pondered. 'Level one dungeons are pointless unless they have a certain monster.'

He pulled out his Monster Compendium because he found a Level One Dungeon called Moonshade Grove that claimed to have rare creatures inside. Atlas went through the book and found out what the map notes pointed out.

'Darklings are small, shadowy humanoids relying on stealth to gather information or defeat their enemies,' these creatures could be useful in the future.
