At his words, Swift Death’s cat-like ruby eyes thinned to the size of a needle. Never in her wildest dreams could she have thought that she would find out about the matter of someone hiring assassins to kill Roy while eavesdropping on their conversation.

Master Gray was too fearless to want the son of the Count dead. He was letting anger get the best of him, and Swift Death was going to make sure that he regrets ever targeting her master!

The Yama’s contractor was an asshole for treating two silver-ranked assassins as disposable.

Didn’t he know that you would be wanted by the empire if you killed a noble?

Except for the empire, there was no good place in the entire Far West for humans.

The lives of the two assassins of the organization would be destroyed the moment they assassinated Roy.

Miss Rose was also too vicious.

Swift Death failed to complete the job, so she got someone else to do it.

She was just too desperate about wanting Roy dead.

Back in the room, the Yama’s contractor pinched the cigar between his fingers, bringing it out of his mouth and down to the armrest whilst puffing out the rings of smoke.

The scent of uneasiness filled the air.

Breathing it in, Master Gray coughed. He wasn’t a good smoker.

She heard the contractor causally chuckling, “Our client has paid us to keep their identity confidential. But… since you’re our VVIP customer, I don’t mind telling you who they are if you promise to keep mum about this matter and pay five of these golden babies.”

The Yama’s contractor could be seen playfully winking at him and eying the box.

Master Gray understood what he meant.

He took out five bars from the carton and placed them in his hands.

Then he looked straight in his eyes, “Do tell me.”

The Yama’s contractor rubbed the bars with his thumb, his heart fluttering.

He beamed at Master Gray, “It’s the genius of the Charlotte Family, Miss Rose. For legally breaking off his engagement with her, Roy had her family compensate him greatly. That irked her. She’s thirsty for his blood now and wants him dead. Do you know how much she threw at us? 100 thousand gold coins. We’re just waiting for him to be out in the streets by himself. That’s when we will strike him dead.”

“Hahaha!” Understanding that Roy had limited days to live, Master Gray laughed his lungs out. “That’s enough for her to buy a ranked runic item, but she is using it to take him out. That brat deserves to have such a vengeful woman aiming for his life.”

Seeing him so happy, the contractor smoked without worry, placed his hand behind his head, and leaned back. “You still haven’t paid us for getting rid of your business rival. The deadline is fast approaching. When are you planning to hand that runic item over to us?”

These weren’t exactly perfect times. To become successful, Gray had chosen to dirty his deeds. He had killed many that did something which threatened to harm his prosperous business. To be cruel was his nature. And… thanks to this characteristic of his, he was very rich. He had done dirty deeds. But to mask the devil he was, he had donated a small sum of his wealth to the poor. That’s why to the County’s southerners, he was a saint with a shitty son.

Master Gray eagerly held his hand, “Straight away. Just wait here for a while. I’ll bring it to you.”

Leaving the Yama’s contractor alone, he went to that part of the manor which had a slope.

Taking the staircase, he went down.

A reclining wall full of plants and grasses was before him, and smelly water was behind him.

He didn’t know that someone had chased him all the way here.

Swift Death noticed blood-sucking vines popping out of the sewer water.

The blood-sucking vines crawled to Master Gray with ill intention, but just as they reached close to him, the ring in his hand released a black evil light. Immediately, instead of sucking him dry, they rubbed against the soles of his shoes like cats showing affection.

“He’s able to control the vines. It must be because of that ring.” Swift Death eyed the ring on his middle finger with great interest. It would be worth stealing it.

With a wave of his hand, Master Gray lifted the vines on the slope.

The solid entrance to an underground bunker was revealed.

It was thoroughly locked.

He took out a set of keys. There were twelves of them, of different shapes and sizes. There was an equal number of locks on the steel door. Using the keys, he unlocked them one by one. With a shrill noise that would scratch one heart, it opened up. Gray went inside, stepping on a staircase. He didn’t forget to lock the steel door before using it to do down.

If only he had waited there for a few minutes, he would’ve caught a figure dressed in black.

Swift Death was following him, but he didn’t notice her at all as she was walking without making a sound, and her breaths and heartbeat were inaudible.

Walking past the many sex chambers in the underground bunker, Master Gray entered a corridor. Stepping out of it, he entered a spacious room with many racks and a treasure chest.

He raised his hand with curled-up fingers, the black ring in his middle finger pointing at the chest. “Open up.”

The chest’s mouth opened, revealing rows and rows of sharp teeth.

No doubt, it was capable of biting off a man’s head in a snap.

Dazzling lights burst out of it, and the teeth vanished, replaced by spatial storage.

Putting his hands inside, Master Gray took out the runic item the Yama’s contractor wanted.

Then, he stepped out of the bunker.

The shadow back in the spacious room fluttered seductively.

A figure stepped out of the darkest corner and took three-step toward the monster-like chest.

“Whoosh!”

Right then, the monster-like chest bounced towards her at record-breaking speed.
