Roy didn’t lessen his vigilance as the rock spirit was eyeing him murderously.
The four beasts were its slave. It became furious as hell seeing them dead.
It swung its arms forward, throwing a boulder towards Roy.
He immediately jumped to the right, resulting in it moving past and dropping on a spot meters behind him, raising dust and generating a wind so strong that it could be felt by Roy.
Then… he saw a scene that widened his eyes!
Targeted by a wrathful Rock Spirit, Roy experienced a rain of boulders.
If it were someone else in his shoes, they would’ve either gotten crushed or chosen to run into the woods.
But he fearlessly advanced forward, trusting in his ability.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Not a single boulder touched him. He zig-zagged to not only get out of the range of their range but also cover the distance between him and the Rock Spirit.
Seeing him closing up on It, the Rock Spirit smashed its fist on the ground.
Immediately after, spears made out of rock started protruding from the ground speedily.
An instant later, Roy felt the ground beneath his feet vibrating.
He immediately jumped up as spears gushed out of the ground, nearly impaling his legs.
While dropping, Roy swung his sword downwards, flatting the sharp ends of the spears below him.
They were no longer a threat to him.
He landed on their flat surfaces like a monk standing on his staff and glared at the Rock Spirit.
Then… the Rock Spirit saw him leaping over the spears in an attempt to reach itself.
The reddish glow in its eye sockets immediately brightened.
“Whoosh!”
In the split of a second, it created a massive boulder with sharp bumps and hurled it at Roy. He had already expected this. He was in mid-air, with no platform beneath him. This was taken as the perfect chance to take him down. But what the monster didn’t know was that Roy could create a solid platform anywhere and at anytime.
『Ding! You’ve activated the Mana Shield Spell!』
A blue shield manifested below him. The moment it formed, Roy smashed his feet on it to jump overhead the approaching boulder.
Dodging it, he plunged straight toward the monster.
The thought of Roy having the ability to jump in mid-air never entered its mind. It was rooted in its place.
“It’s about time I landed a hit on you!” Roy said as he smashed the top of its head with his sword. The sound of bone breaking echoed as dozens of cracks appeared on its skull. Its fists shot out, but Roy deflected them with his sword and landed a kick on its rocky chest, causing it to go out of balance and stumble back. Roy pulled out Piercer too, and Before it could regain its balance, he smashed both his swords on its head, bursting it open.
The moment he shattered its head, its entire body turned to ethereal dust.
A system’s notification rang in his mind.
『Ding! You’ve Killed a Level 11 Chaotic Rock Spirit from the FairyLand! You get 110 Experience points and +1 Mana Point.』
Hearing the notification, Roy furrowed. “Only a monster contaminated with Chaos can be called Chaotic. The forces of Chaos… have spread to this place.” A thoughtful look appeared on his face. “No wonder Far West put the gateway to this world in the County. It must’ve wanted a competent trainee to fight against Chaos. And knowing I am no ordinary man, it chose me.”
Among trainees, He was a mythical existence.
This place that only accepted beings below level 11 was a place where no one could be his match in a fair fight!
Roy looked at his Mana Pool.
『MP: 51/61.』
The size of Roy’s sea of magic had increased by a small amount, but even this much was impressive, considering he only had to kill a monster to instantly gain it.
He had enough EXP to level up his Mage Class, but he decided not to, as he could advance to the peak of Level 3 without the system’s level.
If there were any levels above that, that is when his saved EXP will come in handy!
He sat down, placing the swords beside him. Immediately, his way of breathing changed.
『You’ve activated Ninam’s Mana Meditation Technique.』
Each time he sucked in the air, a handful of Mana would rush into his Magic Sea from the surroundings.
『You’ve recovered 4 MP.』
『+2 MP.』
『+4 MP.』
In a couple of breaths, his MP Bar was full.
Roy’s eyes snapped open. He was feeling endangered. He looked at the sky, only to see a silent predator circling him.
Maybe it was the smell of blood in the air, or maybe it was the sound of battle, but a Steel-Beak vulture was attracted to this place.
Caw, Caw!
Calling out twice, it swiftly plunged towards Roy, threatening to add a bloody hole in his flesh.
“Not today,” Saying this, Roy stood up in a hurry, raising one of the swords.
Clang!
The sound of its metallic peak crashing into the surface of Reflection rang out. It was forced to a stop.
No matter how much it flapped its wings or how it used its beak, it couldn’t budge the sword out of the way.
So it changed its tactic, clawing at Roy.
But this time, both the swords were put in the trajectory of its attack. The lengthy and slim swords made it impossible for its claws to advance towards its target.
As it tried to force it, Roy kicked it in the chest with such strength that it spewed out blood, shot backward, and became concussed.
He jumped after it.
In mid-air, it snapped out of its daze, turned around, and flapped its wing in order to take flight. As long as it reached the sky, its target wouldn’t be able to touch a single feather on its head.
Bam! Roy crash-landed on it. Its dream was shattered as it was stomped down upon. It plunged to the ground with a dull thud. Both its wings were pressed beneath his feet. It was completely immobilized.
“Puchi!”
And then… a sword was thrust into its brain.
“Once you aim for my life, there’s no escape from me,” Roy said, seeing its hawk-like eyes turning dull.
That was the last thing it ever heard.
『Ding! Congratulation. You’ve killed a Level 10 Chaotic Steel-Clawed Vulture. You gained 50 Experience points and +1 MP. The Far West has taken a 50% kill value from you.』
This system’s notification rang in Roy’s mind before his eyes twitched twice. Far West was being an ass to him!
