Numerous pieces of burnt meat fell down from the air and thudded to the ground somewhere in the cold, icy land as Roy rushed towards that area. He was closely followed by his maids, friends, and family.
It was 100+ meters away from the spot where he was when he killed it. It took him a couple of seconds to reach it.
Unsurprisingly, Arlo was already there, resting against a tree with an amused expression on his face.
“That fight would have ended in an instant if you stepped in. Why didn’t you?” Roy stopped and questioned him.
“Because bringing you here would be meaningless then. I brought you here to help you gain practical experience. It’s up to you to defeat all the monsters we encounter in the Icy Cold Land and the Warm Lands. How you deal with them is also totally up to you. And don’t worry about encountering foes that are impossible for you to handle. Aura monsters don’t hunt in these land.” Arlo made his intentions clear to Roy.
‘He said it like he really meant it. I guess we won’t be receiving any help from him anytime soon.’
Roy was a bit disappointed in Arlo, and he clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Julian rushed past Roy. His eyes held nothing but the glittering crystals and stones amidst the carnage.
“Don’t approach them.” Roy immediately warned Julian.
Arlo chased after Julian, reaching him in an instant, and grabbed his arm, forcing him to an instant stop just six steps away from the carnage.
Julian looked closely at Roy and Arlo. Why was he stopped?
Just then, as if to answer his question, vicious currents flashed out of the pieces of its corpse. They were like hundreds of black lightning snakes as they danced about, turning everything in their path, be it a stalk of grass or a pebble, into dust.
The black lightning was threatening to put an end to all living entities.
‘Holy fuck, If I wasn’t stopped, I would have met the same fate as them.’ Julian swallowed nervously and stumbled back, tripping over his feet and falling to the ground, butt first.
The maids and the twins also appeared beside Roy and witnessed that an electric field had formed before them. It was so terrifying and ferocious that they couldn’t possibly cross it.
Julian, who was staring at it, found it somewhat similar to Roy’s black lightning. “This looks similar to the lightning bolt you used to take it down.”
“It’s not just similar. It’s my black aura lightning.”
Roy himself stood surprised.
He didn’t expect that striking a creature dead with his aura lightning would result in the creation of such an electric field.
“What kind of skill is that?” Delilah asked curiously.
“Aura lightning,” Roy answered honestly. “You can gain this ability after removing two limiters.”
Arlo rolled his eyes at Roy. He also had the aura lightning ability. That is what he used to resurrect Roy when the latter had suffered from a heart attack. However, his aura lightning definitely wasn’t anywhere near as impressive as Roy.
Neither he nor Roy knew that the changes in Roy’s self-created aura lightning were caused by the Manual of Shadow.
“I haven’t even removed one.” Delilah sighed.
Hearing her words, not just Roy but everyone else was equally surprised. Well, everyone except for Arlo.
“But aren’t you already an awakened?”
“How come you haven’t removed a limiter yet?” Julian and Roy questioned Delilah at the same time.
Awakening automatically removes a limiter. That wasn’t a known fact to the masses. But anyone dreaming of advancing to the Weapon Master stage of the Rank-1 mage stage would hear it once in their life.
Delilah was questioned. She was also being looked at in shock.
Before she could answer, someone else satisfied their curiosity.
“She must have used a cheap quality awakening stone to awaken, resulting in her limiter not being removed. It’s not a known fact, but if you use a cracked or dim awakening stone, not only would the class you awaken be weak compared to others, chances are your first limiter wouldn’t be removed either.”
“That’s what happened in my case.”
Delilah was slightly regretful. She knew of the risk before she used it to awaken. But she went on with it anyway.
After all, if she hadn’t awakened then, who knows how long it would have taken her to take revenge?
Furthermore, if she hadn’t hunted that noble down with her sister, chances were pretty high that the orphans she was taking care of now would have been sold to assassins or pedos or abusive jerks.
Roy stepped close to Arlo. “Can the Limiter Breaker Technique be taught to others?”
“No,” Arlo blasted the idea of helping multiple people remove their limiter that was in Roy’s head into bits with just one word.
Then, he went on to explain, “It’s a technique meant for a select few to learn.”
“What does that mean? Only Baldwins can use it?” Roy’s brow raised.
Arlo shook his head. This made it the second time he did that.
“Don’t expect anyone except a pure-blooded Baldwin to survive that.”
“That” being the way Roy had removed his first limiter.
Pure-Blood Baldwins are those who can open both an aura gate and a magic gate and become a magic Knight.
?o??? There were too few in the Far West.
Arlo has only met a handful of them so far.
Considering the population of humans in the Far West that numbered in the billions, that was really too little.
“Why is that so?”
“Only Baldwins like us can increase their raw strength to the level of a level 10 boss-type monsters. Our speed, strength, stamina, and, in some cases, even vitality can match theirs if we just live long enough. The same can’t be said for others.” Arlo patted his shoulder. “Understand yourself, Roy. Only then would you realize how different you are from others. We can do what others can do. But we can also do what others can’t and what others should not try doing.”
This was all said in a low voice.
Only Roy heard what was said.
Hearing Arlo’s words, he came to a sudden realization.
