Moments later, just when the twins were about to bury themselves in the study of magic, they were stopped by Roy.
“Wait, I do have something I want the two of you to do for me.” Roy pointed at the twins, garnering their attention.
“I knew he would not simply hand these things over to us without asking for anything in return!”
Hearing his words, Aydin thought it wasn’t a mistake to be suspicious of him, and he eyed him with a wary and calculative look.
“We have nothing besides what you gave us.”
“What can we even give you?”
The twins looked at each other and thought Roy might demand their bodies.
It was a known fact that elves were fetisheized by humans, and they were half-elves, known to be even more charming than elves in bed.
That’s why they thought he might be eying their body.
But what Roy wanted from them wasn’t sex.
“Promise me that you’ll never accept the kiss of Chaos and never give in to its temptation no matter what trouble you find yourself in. In return, I will be your biggest supporter and even help you investigate the case related to the annihilation of your clan.”
What he wanted from them was so pathetically simple and beyond their expectations that they were shocked to a standstill.
Aydin gaped at him in silence.
‘D-did I… hear him right?!!!’
His shock at knowing what Roy wanted from him was so much that his jaw threatened to drop to touch the ground.
Maya, on the other hand, looked relieved.
“It’s part of the reason why our parents and clansmen were killed. How can he possibly serve such an enemy?
“Yeah, that would never happen.”
“Your worries are unnecessary. We aren’t so desperate that we will serve an enemy.”
“We promise we won’t go anywhere near it.”
While speaking in turns, the twins looked at him with ridiculous expressions on their faces.
“Good!”
Roy was no longer worried about them becoming Chaotic beings as he found out that they hated the disgusting thing that was Chaos and were totally against it.
“If you ever find yourself in a difficult situation that you can’t solve on your own, look for me.”
“Okay, we will!”
After promising that he would help them, Roy stood up and walked away.
He strode into the kitchen.
The twins’ eyes remained on his back until he disappeared from their sight.
Aydin held the books up and beamed, “With this, I am one step closer to investigating the truth of that day.”
He felt someone’s gaze on him and turned his head to the side, only to see Maya stubbornly staring at him.
“He is good to us, but that doesn’t mean we should take unfair advantage of him. I am going to serve him wholeheartedly from now on. I hope you will do the same down the line. Don’t let him down.”
That’s all she had to say to her brother, who was partially blinded by the thought of revenge.
“I am not ungrateful. Without his help, we would have been suffering under that ugly noble. How can I forget that he offended him for us? I won’t let him down, and I won’t hurt him. That I swear on my elven ancestry.”
Aydin vowed under his breath that if Roy genuinely meant no harm to them, he would serve him wholeheartedly.
No one knew that Arlo, who was sitting on the stairs in a lotus position, had overheard their conversation.
‘This nephew of mine is not as simple as he appears to be.’
Silently, he opened his eyes and stood up, a thoughtful look visible on his face.
‘Vizards said that his soul hasn’t changed; it has only grown in size and become more radiant. But what can make a damaged soul grow except for experience and wisdom?’
‘Who could have granted him that in such a short time? Only one suspect comes to my mind-Far West!’
‘It might have helped him recover from his mental illness and told him that Chaos was planning to make a big move against the empire.’
‘But why would it do that? Maybe it wants to use him as a weapon against the crimson winds. Yeah, that must be it.’
A sardonic smile flickered over Arlo’s face.
‘It wants to use a Baldwin as its pawn in its chess match against Chaos.’
‘It’s quite daring.’
Thus, a beautiful misunderstanding was created…
A wind blew against the tent, whose entrance had changed to look like a door to the library.
The young twins could be seen sitting side by side in the living room and memorizing the magic spell models.
‘Oh gosh, why is it so hard to learn it?!’ Maya rubbed her temples in dismay.
Ninam’s True Magic spell model was the hardest level 0 spell to recreate in one’s magic sea, but Roy had easily established it in his magic sea as he had utilized the help of his system.
Maya didn’t have a system, so she hadn’t been able to comprehend it, and she found it too hard to memorize.
‘At this rate, it might take me a week or so to learn and condense the True Magic Spell Model in my magic sea.’ Maya curled her tiny hands into tiny fists. ‘I need to do better than that.’
Immediately after, she buried herself in her studies.
Aydin was faring far better than his sister, as he, with a glance, had memorized all three magic spell models given to him by Roy, one of which was so complex that it would take a typical person months to memorize.
‘It shouldn’t be that easy to memorize such complex spells.’
Aydin was perplexed by the look of it.
He couldn’t understand how he memorized them so easily.
‘I get it! I can memorize magic spell models at flying speed. Maybe it’s because of my elven bloodline.’
After realizing he was more special than others, Aydin closed his eyes to better focus on condensing the Duplicate Magic Spell in his magic sea.
To his surprise, the second he shaped his mana into a spell model in his magic sea, it hardened and condensed before releasing a blue glow.
He had succesfully established it in his magic sea in an instant!
