“My true soul is a part of this sword.” The Righteous Knight said to Roy while pointing out the thin sword, which looked like a rapier, in his hand. “I won’t die until it shatters. This fight will exhaust me severely, causing me to fall into a coma, but as long as you take good care of it, I will wake up one day. Hopefully, by then, you will remember who you are.”
Hearing his words, Roy was startled, and he questioned the knight.
“Who am I?”
“The Righteous Knight opened his mouth as if to say something to him.
“You are-”
“KKUUAARRGGHH!”
Just then, Voss burst out of the ground with a roar, furious and loud enough to deafen the Righteous Knight’s words. Roy couldn’t hear what he said because of Voss’s roar. But he made out a terrifying word from reading his lips. It was God’s.
‘Am I god’s chosen or something like that?’ He didn’t have time to think about what he was or how he was related to a God as Voss caught up to them in no time, instantly teleporting in front of them.
Countless white strands of flesh shot out of his hands, twisting and weaving, condensing and solidifying into thousands of melee weapons.
“None of you bastards are safe! I will fucking butcher you!”
Voss roared, and all his weapons moved forward at the speed of thunder, hurtling through the air and heading straight for the Righteous Knight’s pious figure, and at the same time, his hand went for Roy only.
“Why target him when you can’t even overcome me?” The Righteous Knight brandished his weapon while saying that to Voss.
Whoosh!
His move was quite simple compared to Voss’s, but his glaive was like the first ray of the Sun, infinitely large and world illuminating.
It grew unbelievably large as the Righteous Knight swung it from left to right.
Clang! Ting! Ting! Ting!
Voss’s avatar’s self-created weapons met with its solid and sharp surface.
As a result, all of them were snapped in half, but not a dent appeared on the glaive.
But this stalled the righteous Knight enough for Voss to close in on Roy.
“This puny little insect is what this God desires over killing you!”
Voss said as his gigantic hands reached for Roy at the speed of sound.
Just as it looked like Roy would be caught, the Righteous Knight yanked him toward the portal and met Voss’s palm with his.
Boom!
As a result, Voss was forced back into the hole it came out of!
“This bastard! How dare he treat a God this way?!”
Voss cried out, enraged beyond belief at being buried alive again.
“Just who are you, and why are you going so far for me?”
Roy asked him while obediently flying towards the portal. The back of the Righteous Knight has also disappeared, signifying that he won’t be long to hold Voss back long. He had to get out of here fast.
Remaining here wasn’t safe for either him or his Righteous Knight, but as long as he made it out, they both would survive.
According to the Righteous Knight, he won’t die unless the runic item, Shadow Piercer, shatters, and this was in Roy’s hand.
“I will safeguard it with my life,” Roy promised to protect it with his life as he set aside all his swords to decrease the load on him, causing a slight but noticeable increase in the speed at which he was flying.
“Who you are, you will know after you awaken! Now get out of here!”
This was the last thing the Righteous Knight said to him before he thrust his hand towards the artificial sky, and massive amounts of colorless aura crashed on Roy’s back, instantly throwing him upwards and propelling him towards the portal at a ridiculous, air-splitting speed.
“It better be as you said! You better not die!” Roy clenched his fist, his voice trembling as tears threatened to spill. He didn’t know, but he felt extremely uncomfortable with the idea of losing his Knight for good. If it wasn’t as he said, then this might be the last time they meet and fight together.
After saying that, he disappeared into the portal without waiting for an answer.
“I am not one who tells lies.”
The Righteous Knight watched him fly through the dark portal, disappearing as soon as he touched it.
Then, he looked down.
Reflected in his eyes was a land that was ravaged as a result of their battle.
“Now it’s just you and me. Come out.”
“As you wish!”
“So you have decided to sacrifice another part of your True Soul. How childish.”
The Righteous Knight saw baleful air surging out of the cervixes in the shattered land down below and shooting up into the sky.
From this, he determined that Voss had sacrificed another portion of his Eternal Soul to boost his strength to another level.
“Ninam failed to harm your soul, but just a young man succeeded in destroying 2-10th of your soul. Let’s see. I think your time is really short. He will come back for you pretty soon. Just like how you eat their souls, he will eat yours.”
The Righteous Knight mockingly laughed at Voss.
Voss was no longer a skull with two hands. His form has changed. He was now a white humanoid with wings and black starry eyes.
“Before that happens, I will take my sweet time in corrupting you. I wonder how that mortal will react when I pit you against him!”
With these words, he seemed to have really angered the Righteous Knight.
“Melody of the Night: A land clean of filth!”
A twist of his wrist caused ten thousand stones to rise, morph into weapons, and close in on Voss from all sides.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The waves of rocky weapons infused with Force clashed with one another, producing metallic noises as Voss teleported away from the spot where he once stood, reappearing close to the Righteous Knight.
“I curse you to become my slave!”
“In your dreams!”
Voss assaulted him with his soul, forcing the latter to flash away desperately.
