Chapter 297 [Bonus chapter] The Water Celestial's side story
It was late at night, and a crescent moon could be seen in the sky, glowing brightly.
A cold, dense fog escaped from the depths of the mountain, came out from behind the trees like rolling waves, and permeated the garden like a virus, causing the temperature there to drop rapidly.
The temperature of the village was the exact opposite of that. It had returned to normal after Voss died. While it was cold in the ashen mountain, it was warm there. It could be counted as the warmest place in the entire northern region.
"The danger has passed." The Water Celestial said to the villagers.
"Thank you very much!" The villagers bowed down to him in respect.
The villagers treated him like a God because he had helped their village survive and thrive for hundreds of years.
It might look like they were just villagers who lived humble lives, but they had never starved or worried about a bad year of harvest.
Even during the war of the kingdoms, when the city folks barely had anything to eat and were starving to death, they ate their fill and lived a simple life untouched by war because of the Water Celestial.
In their hardest times, he provided for them and protected them, keeping them away from hardships and death.
According to their elders, the water celestial lived in this place far before they came.
The first time they came to know about him was when a horde of boars came down the mountain and threatened to trample them to death and destroy their houses and crops.
Before they could enter the village, the Water Celestial made his appearance.
With a raise of his hand, he immobilized them, stopping them from entering the village, and with a twist of his wrist, he hurled them back to where they came from effortlessly.
After that, he warned the monsters of the warm land to not attack the villagers, enter the village, or eat their crops.
Whether they were willing or unwilling, the monsters followed his order and never bothered the village again.
Ever since then, the villagers started to worship the Water Celestial and even built a grand temple in his name.
He hadn't made an appearance for decades. A blink of an eye for him was a lifetime for a human. His single nap lasted for several decades, which was a very long time for a human.
The younger generation had never seen him, as he hadn't bothered appearing before the villagers for years.
Thus, they thought that he might not be real and everything they heard about him was just a product of their elders' imagination.
But today, after seeing him protect them from Voss's attacks, their doubts about him being fake were dispelled, and they gained a newfound respect for him.
"You should return home and rest."
"Yes, we will do as you say."
All the villagers bowed to him thrice before straightening up and noticing that the barrier around the temple had vanished some time ago.
They stepped out of it in order to return to their homes.
They were just ordinary people. The past few days were spent harvesting the crops. That had tired them a lot, and their muscles were still sore. And today, they encountered Voss. Because of being in the same area as Voss, they were exhausted beyond words. They were dead tired, and thus, they fell asleep the second their heads touched the pillows.
While they were deep asleep, Roy and the others were wide awake.
The maids were busy in the kitchen, preparing food.
The twins were busy helping them.
Tevenlor was admiring this world.
He had heard a lot about the outside world in the Ashen Land, but this was his first time experiencing it.
'The sky here is really different than the one I remember. There has never been a night when a moon decorated the sky of the Ashen Land, but there's one here.'
After witnessing it for himself, Tevenlor understood why the spirits and dwellers of the Ashen Land wanted to escape to the outside world.
It was really beautiful here, and the Ashen Land couldn't compare to this place.
Roy and the Female Siren were sitting on comfortable sofas, and he was staring at her too intensely.
Under his stare, her face turned red.
He gulped, and she lowered her head.
"Let's consummate our marriage tonight, ok?" She asked shyly.
Hearing her words, Roy smiled happily.
"Why not?"
Roy stood up and walked up to her. They couldn't make out in the living room. It had no privacy. He was planning to bring her to the guest room, but he was stopped by Damien.
"We have important things to do first. That can wait." Damien said.
"True." Roy scratched his head and decided to go along with him.
"This is the best time for you to show me how strong you have become," Damien stated.
"Sure." Roy said, "But let me warn you first. It might shock you."
"We will see. After I determine your strength, I will teach you a few things about Force." Damien walked away, signaling Roy to follow him.
"Are you really going to leave me to train?!" The Female Siren stared at him as if she was betrayed.
There was an itch in her heart, and only he could scratch it.
But now, all of a sudden, he was choosing something over scratching her itch.
Was he immune to her charms?
Did he not want to mate with her?
"We have an entire night to get along." Roy knelt before her. She was sitting on a sofa. They were now face to face. "Just wait for me."
She leaned forward and placed her lips on his before backing away and saying, "Hurry up."
Roy stood up and followed after Damien. They went to the place with the stone from the Celestial Empire.
"Show me what you can do," Damien said.
"Watch me."
Roy waved his hand, and the huge stone started levitating.
