Chapter 462 Augustus

The knights and mages of Constantine county were so stunned by the sight that their mouths hung open in disbelief, their jaws threatening to drop to the ground.

What in the world was happening? These were the same enemies they had been battling to the death, yet they were now bowing before Arlo just because of a single sentence he had spoken from the top of Saint Paul's Cathedral!

Unfuckingbelievable!

...

Because of Arlo's appearance, the once-raging battle between a sultry seductress clad in revealing attire and a dashing young man came to a sudden halt.

The Sultry seductress' hair was a deep shade of red that cascaded down her back in loose waves. Her face was angular and defined, with high cheekbones, a straight nose, and full lips painted in a deep shade of red, and her eyes were a piercing shade of emerald green that seemed to sparkle with an ominous inner fire.

She was wearing a crimson robe that hugged her curves in all the right places, accentuating her shapely figure. The robe was lined with gold embroidery that glinted in the light, adding to her aura of mystique. Beneath the robe, she wore a fitted bodysuit that showed off her toned arms and legs, while a hint of cleavage was visible through the low neckline.

By her looks and attire, it could be seen that she was a Crimson Mage! Falling for her charms and beauty was dooming oneself!

The man, on the other hand, was the most famous troublemaker of Constantine County called Augustus, but one couldn't deny that he was extremely attractive.

His face was angular and chiseled, with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. His eyes were piercing blue, with a hint of gray around the irises, and his eyebrows were slender and arched, giving him a perpetually flirtatious expression. He had silver hair, his nose was straight and narrow, and his lips were plump and loosely opened. His complexion was pale, almost porcelain-like, with a few faint freckles across his nose and cheeks.

He was wearing a dark suit with a crisp white shirt and silk tie, which seemed to perfectly complement his pale complexion and added a touch of elegance to his playboy appearance, making him more desirable to any human being with a sex drive. He was wearing a simple gold bracelet on his wrist, which he used to store items, and he had a small hoop earring in his left ear.

"Wait, Arnard? Wasn't he supposed to be living in Baldwin County? What's he doing here?!" The words full of disbelief burst forth from the lips of the crimson mage, Sarenna Ember, incredulous at the sight before her.

Seeing that the enemy's attention was elsewhere, Augustus, second born of Count Constantine, sprang into action. He wasn't going to give up this golden opportunity to strike. Swift as a falcon and fierce as a lion, he conjured his specialized force to construct a white lance devoid of energy fluctuations and to amplify his strength and speed. Since it lacked energy fluctuations, Sarenna was unaware of its existence.

Whoosh!

Swiftly, the lance shot out of his hand like a missile, hurtling through the air and charging straight towards the crimson mage with such speed that it left behind after images.

Puchi!

It pierced her chest with deadly accuracy, shattering her ribcage and crashing into her core with a resounding crack.

Sarenna gasped, shocked that she was impaled. She grabbed the lance, pulling it out of herself, the wide gaping hole in her body closing rapidly

"Distractions... You can't afford them," Augustus taunted, smirking at Sarenna.

Straightening up as blood dripped from her chest, she glared at Augustus. "You have no manners, attacking a beautiful lady like this," Sarenna hissed through gritted teeth.

"Beautiful lady? Who? And Where? All I see is a rotting corpse that will be reduced to ashes soon," Augustus scoffed, his lips twisting with contempt.

Seranna's eyes twitched in anger as she heard Augustus speak. What he said pissed her off, causing her thoughts to turn dark and insidious. Without warning, she unleashed a bolt of dark energy at Augustus, intending to take him down. However, Augustus was quick to react and raised his hand, creating a shield made of defensive force to block the attack.

"My attack is imbued with Death Force, an offensive concept rivaling Sword Force. Don't think you can block it so easily!" Sarenna spat out, confident in the power of her spell.

"Sorry to break it to you, but I am no ordinary opponent. I have a trick up my sleeve that will leave you shocked and awed before you die." Augustus uttered just before the spell crashed onto his shield with a resounding boom.

The resulting explosion sent clouds of dust and debris flying in all directions.

"Did I get that stinky brat?" Sarenna wondered, hoping that her attack had done enough damage to kill him.

However, to her surprise, Augustus emerged from the smoke and dust completely unharmed, holding his shield tauntingly. Not a mark could be seen on him or his shield!

"How are you unscratched?!" Sarenna screeched in shock, unable to believe what had just happened.

"I have a special-type Force called Reality Shaping. It imbues the effect of manipulating reality to all the skills and concepts I have mastered. This shield, for example, is a product of an alternate reality where Death Force is the weakest, and any piece of armor can be immune to it," Augustus explained, his tone calm and collected.

"Reality Shaping? Manipulating reality itself?"

She was taken aback by Augustus's explanation of his unique ability. She realized that she had underestimated her opponent, underestimated him too much.

"Such a concept is unheard of in this world!" Seranna exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief.

She thought: Constantines weren't supposed to have such a monster hiding among them!

She and her team had done their due diligence before launching their attack on the County, scouring their databases for any information that could prove useful.
