Chapter 498 498: Roy The Terror!

"What on Earth?!"

The invading commander stared, gobsmacked, as his troops' attacks were absorbed by an expanding abyss of blackness, a terrifying spectacle all thanks to Roy.

He could only gawk, his eyes wide in the brief moment of shock.

Then, his jaw tightened, a chill of pure fear trickled down his spine, and a thin layer of sweat soaked the back of his uniform.

"No way..." he croaked out, his voice brittle with disbelief. "Just a rookie... How can he control such tremendous power? Am I seeing things? But when did he catch us in this mind trick?"

"It's no trick."

Spoke the second-in-command, whose eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he witnessed Roy's might.

The commander turned to look at him and saw that the arrogant smirk he usually wore was replaced by absolute horror.

"We've really messed up," he blurted, forcing down a knot of fear in his throat. "This... this kid is a monster. Not a mere trainee. We've seriously underestimated him!"

Another one of the invaders, his face pale and sickly with sweat, stammered in agreement, "Our lord Chaos... He needs to know about this. This is no ordinary trainee... He's the highest-ranked anomaly of the Far West Major Continent! He is the one the nether realm has been warned about in the prophecy."

Roy's eyebrows raised upon hearing their words. The newfound information was interesting to digest. It seemed like he was some kind of prophecy child. As for what kind of prophecy he needed to fulfill, it was yet unknown. However, he knew what it meant to be labeled as an anomaly in this world. He would be targeted by the forces of Chaos and Drath relentlessly until he dies or they die. And if that happened, the lives of the people around him would also be affected negatively.

Roy thought: 'I can't let that happen.'

"Your boss won't hear a peep about what happened here," Roy shot back confidently, "because I'll make sure you all meet your end right here!"

In the next breath, he summoned the mighty Dragon's Pond from his personal subspace.

Suddenly, the Dragon's Pond, a vast, ominous body of dark water, materialized in the sky, casting the shadow of doom on all that was below it.

At the sight of it, the invaders felt that their fates had been sealed, and a shiver ran down their spines!

"Show 'em hell!" Roy bellowed.

With a swift downward motion of his hand, the Dragon's Pond plummeted towards the invaders like a gigantic meteor, poised to engulf them completely.

Scattered cries of, "Run!" echoed in panic among the invaders.

Yet, their desperate attempts to evade the fall of the Dragon's Pond were futile. The sheer speed of the descending mass of water left them unable to avoid it and breathless. Sky-bound enemies were no match for its formidable force. Unable to rush out of its trajectory despite utilizing the help of their steeds, which were one of the fastest animals in the Nether realm, they were consumed by the massive aquatic expanse, which was actually just a drop of Yulran's blood!

"UGHHHHHHH!"

"ARGHHHHH!"

"UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Immediately, the echo of horrifying, agonized screams filled the void as the crushing pressure from the Dragon's Pond began to rip them apart. The feeblest followers of Chaos were snapped like twigs, while the life orbs of the weaker Crimson mages fragmented, signaling their grim demise.

[Ding!]

The notification of the system rang in Roy's mind!

[Congratulations, Host! You have killed dozens of worshippers of Chaos and Death. You get 100000 EXP!]

The ones Roy had killed were the weakest members of the invading force. However, they made up the larger part of the force. Killing them had granted him a huge amount of EXP. Killing the remaining ones would grant him an equally, if not even more impressive amount of EXP, as only the strong ones were left in the enemies' rank. And the stronger his enemies, the more EXP he would get from killing them! All this EXP will become useable when he awakens!

"Finally free!"

"It was a terrifying experience, but hey, at least I survived!"

A mere few managed to escape the deadly assault, that too only because they were strong enough to endure the pressure emanating from the dragon's pond and skillful enough to wrench themselves free from the Dragon's Pond's gravitational pull!

But their survival was not without cost.

They were ravaged and bloodied during their time spent in the dragon's pond, their once formidable aura now nothing more than a tattered remnant of its former glory!

Eyeing them, Roy remarked coolly, "Do you get it now? I'm not the one trapped here with you. It's the other way around. You're the ones trapped here with me! The five minutes that your lord bought to kill us using his powers, I will take full advantage of it to bury you in this place!"

"What's the plan, commander?" the vice leader asked.

"We can't stand up against that guy. He's too mighty, and his weapons are no joke. Perhaps only a Realn Lord could take him on. When dealing with him, our best bet is to scatter and hope he doesn't manage to snag us! If even one of us survives and returns to the nether, it would be considered our victory. This information is too valuable. If it doesn't get to Chaos, there will be a great threat to our future plans!" the commander replied. According to him, the death of the entire legion was great, but it couldn't be compared to not being able to deliver the news of the Child of Propechy to Chaos and Death!

"So, we're all on our own then?"

With a heavy nod, the invader's boss affirmed, "Yes."

"Like I said before, you can forget about escaping. There's no way out!" shouted Roy, an intense, deadly sparkle igniting in his eyes. Mounted on his sword, he soared through the air and charged toward them, every inch of his being the embodiment of a divine, untouchable swordsman that seemed to have stepped out of an unparalleled painting!
