276 Create swords
“Didn’t you just create a spear out of the soil? Then why not create some swords?”
Kairen then pointed at the tip of Aaron’s spear. A piece of black metal was seen there.
“And I’m sure you don’t really need to go to a smithery as you are somehow able to create something like that... How is that even possible? Your power is a cheat.”
Aaron widened his eyes.
“You want me to create swords for those punks?”
Kairen shrugged his shoulders.
“Yeah? Can’t you?”
“I’ve actually never tried.”
“Then try it now!”
.....
Aaron glanced at the two groups of enemies who were both trying to kill him.
“I don’t think that’s a good thing to do right now.”
BANNNGGGG
Another explosion shook Kairen’s shield, but it didn’t manage to break or even crack it.
“Why not?”
“...”
Aaron shook his head.
‘I feel bad for these people.’
This whole thing was his little brother’s idea. The idea was to show his unit and team leader and also commander that he was not working for Philomns in hopes of them not punishing him.
Of course, before he started to form this ‘plan’ of his, Kairen almost interrogated his brother to make sure that he was really working for the organization that harmed his ‘family’ in this world!
Of course, Aaron wasn’t really working for them. Since the beginning, he was never even interested in those people’s goals or plans. All he wanted was to find the answer to the questions he had and he somehow ended up working for them.
‘Don’t worry Ron you can find your answers if you work for SMF!’, said Kairen with a bright smile before mumbling ‘I got tricked by the same words and ended up joining SMF though... What the hell...’, with a blank face.
Aaron didn’t really understand his little brother’s last words, but he decided to not ask anything after hearing him say ‘Anyway, I kinda got what I wanted so I wasn’t really tricked hehehehe.’
Their plan was simple. They had to find where unit 5 was and go to their help while also making it seem like they were in a fight with Philomns. For that, they only had to find a nearby small Philomns base and attack them, then run away. They had to drag the battle until they reached his unit.
Kairen had assumed that they were busy doing missions on the borders, but after searching for them for a while, they found that they were in... prison?
Now that they were here, it seemed that they didn’t really need to drag Philomns into it. Wasn’t rescuing the unit a great deed enough? Now, they had to fight Philomns, an army of soldiers, and a bunch of agents at the same time. He wasn’t sure if he could take care of things alone, but it wasn’t like he could give up just yet. If their plan failed he couldn’t go back to Philomns anymore either so he had to make sure that nothing went wrong.
But there was still something wrong! Something was wrong with his little brother!
Those damn people! They had the audacity to stick to his little brother and make him call them ‘family’! He regretted not beating that water bastard more when they were fighting. Even when he met him in that temple in the jungle the next time, he had to beat the shit out of him himself instead of The First. They had brainwashed his precious little annoying brother to the point that he would suspect his own brother to be his enemy!
No. Even if Aaron was really working for Philomns, his little brother shouldn’t have any objections! This wasn’t their world so what if they worked for the bad guys? Besides, he was his older brother? Why wouldn’t Kairen follow him and instead interrogate him? It was always the two of them all the time and they always supported each other no matter how much Kairen made Aaron annoyed or how much jealous Kairen was of his brother. They always backed the other no matter what! But no, his brother started babbling about how he saw that group as enemies because they had hurt his friends and family and that he wouldn’t let Aaron work for them! Tsk!
With a sigh, he closed his eyes and focused on creating a sword out of the soil.
SHHHHH
SHHHHH
The soil rose to the air and whirled around his hand. After the soil was gathered enough, he clenched his fist. The soil floating in the air shook before it condensed in one place, taking the form of a long stick. The soil condensed and condensed even more and the stick looked more solid as seconds passed.
“I can’t create a metal sword. I’m not a blacksmith.”
Aaron muttered as he continued to form the sword.
“But I can make it as solid as metal.”
The soil sword was still condensing and condensing, getting thinner as its sides started to turn sharp like a blade.
“But isn’t the tip of your spear made out of metal.”
“That’s different. First of all, the blade is not metal. You know about haematite. It’s found nearly everywhere. I can somehow use that to create a small solid blade for my spear. It’s hard to create that small thing. You know you need to smelt haematite and do a lot of things if you want to create a blade with it and even if you do it, the blade made out of it will be brittle and not suitable for an aura user. The blade I make contains a small bit of haematite and a lot of other things to make it sturdy. I also carry some metal with me all the time. A small bit enough for me to mix it with the condensed soil and make it sturdy.”
“....”
Kairen nodded his head, although he didn’t understand much.
“And I can’t create anything larger and sharper than that out of the soil. All I can create for those punks are some blades that are just sturdy not to break apart after making contact with their auras and I don’t think they need anything much as their aura alone is sharp enough to tear apart anything. They don’t really need a sharp blade.”
Kairen nodded his head again.
“So you can create them a sword, right?”
“...Yes.”
Aaron nodded his head with a disappointed expression after seeing his brother’s blank face which showed how much he didn’t understand his words.
DANG
After a few more seconds of condensing the soil, the sword finally fell to the ground with a dang. It was a thick black sword that looked dull and heavy.
“How many more do you want?”
“Oh, One for Reyan, one for Serria, Darren, Carlson, and a greatsword for deputy team leader Bray. 5 in total. You already made one so we need 4 more.”
Kairen ignored Aaron’s angry glare and just approached the sword that was right beside Aaron’s feet, picking it up and examining it.
“Gah, it’s really heavy!”
He couldn’t hold it in his hands for more than a few seconds.
BAAANGGGGG
B-BAAANGGGG
The explosions were still hitting his shield. They had gotten stronger and the attacks had also increased in number.
“Who are you? Come down here!”
“Attack them!”
“Give us back the prisoners and surrender!”
The Philomns members and the soldiers were all screaming and talking at the same time.
“Hey, can I go back to them now?”
Kairen turned his head to Asa who was sitting beside Claire.
“Yeah. You two go back. Don’t forget about your rule, Asa.”
“Yes yes.”
The girl nodded her head. Claire looked at Aaron as she opened her mouth.
“But I have to keep an eye on you...”
Kairen’s brows slightly twitched.
“You don’t need to. Just do what I said!”
He glanced at his brother as he said that like a kid that was waiting to be scolded by his mom after secretly eating ice cream. He went against his brother’s words! He was waiting for Aaron to scold him or at least glare at him, but to his surprise, he didn’t.
‘Phew!’
He then turned back to Claire, who was also staring at Aaron with a similar face to Kairen. Then they made eye contact.
DANGGG
Another sword fell down to the ground. There were now three swords on the ground and one greatsword, and another sword was on Kairen’s lap.
“Take these as well.”
Aaron commented.
“Yes.”
Claire and Asa stood up at that moment. They were sitting on the edge of a shorter wall than the one that Kairen and Aaron were on, and the wall was also surrounded by some other higher walls so they were in a safe place.
ONNNG
A black-purple gate appeared right behind Claire. At the same time, another gate appeared right below the pile of swords and sucked them all in.
“Oh!”
Kairen gasped before throwing the sword he was holding into the gate.
“Then we are off!”
.....
And the figures of the two teenagers disappeared from sight.
