Chapter 389 Presuation

Once again, Kairen was sitting at a table with his team leader, Aaron, Alan, and SMF's commander. Their eyes were all locked on him without moving. "Go on," the blue eyes commander said while folding his arms. "Have you applied the law?"
"Yes. No lies, no hiding the facts, only the truth."
Kairen nodded his head. "I'm not completely certain about it, but my guess is that by his grand plan, the former head of Philomns didn't mean something he'd commute in the future, but rather, the actions he'd done up until now."
Kairen had heard the man's story. He thought about it a lot, about the explosion he'd experienced, about the way he'd gained that power, and about the temple he'd seen. "He told you guys that he'd seen a temple named The Temple of Dawn. The temple appeared and vanished in the blink of an eye. He'd seen human silhouettes inside and heard a strange noise coming from inside."
Kairen knew where that temple was. "That's the place I told you about. The same location I must visit. It's one of the temples that we'd visited before, the ones that those cursed artifacts were found from."
There was silence in the room. No one seemed shocked as if they'd already known. Kairen could guess that Alan had probably explained some things to them. "The temple only appeared when an unordinary power is used, a power related to the universe. So unless you explode a few bombs in that area and try your luck to make it appear, only I can bring it power related to the universe. So unless you explode a few bombs in that area and try your luck to make it appear, only I can bring it out. Plus, it'll disappear after a few seconds if you use a method such as exploding bombs."
The commander frowned upon hearing those words as he was offended. "What do you want to say?"
"That the temple has reacted to the explosion of that power, similar to how the other temples reacted to my power and activated. Some summoned monsters while some spat out artifacts."
The Temple of Dawn was the last one of those temples so it must have a similar mechanism to the others, yet a more complicated one to hide its whole existence.
"The holy saint was the one who built those temples and created all the mechanisms. When we first met, he told me that he'd found out about me because those mechanisms were activated. That means that he is able to sense the activation of the mechanisms wherever he is, even if he's not in this world. This also means that he must've sensed it as well when that explosion happened 50 years ago and also if we try to make it reappear now.
"It seems like he didn't mind it when the temple appeared 50 years ago as he found it to be harmless and irrelevant to him, but he reacted fast and came to visit us after I accidentally triggered those mechanisms. It might be because he'd felt danger from here, something that he didn't sense the previous time. But why would he mind if anything he'd created hundreds of years ago was in danger?"
It looked as if the holy saint abandoned this land and went to another place when his plans failed after fighting with the last emperor, but then again, why would someone still pay attention to the connections he'd made with an abandoned place?
"I was told that he's been creating different mechanisms all around the universe in order to achieve his goal. If that's true then there must be too many worlds with temples like ours, he can't possibly pay enough attention to them all, then how come he's so interested in our world?"
Everything Kairen said was random facts that anyone could connect to each other easily. After stating the facts, it was time for him to share his own guesses with the others. "I think it might all be because of the things that Philomns has done. They've used immense amounts of universal powers through the years, something that shouldn't be easy to do in other worlds. Another guess is that those artifacts were purposely placed in the temples in order to lore someone or something in, any entity that had the power needed to take them out.
"I ended up triggering most of them with a power that was too familiar for the holy saint to ignore. He must've sensed that in addition to the activation of the temples, a massive amount of universal power was also used in this said world, and not in a short span of time but over 10 years. These two factors must've attracted his attention, luring him to this place."
"So what you mean to tell is that..." Team leader Dains cut Kairen off. "That bastard was doing these all to draw that holy saint or whatever's attention to this world?"
"Yes."
The room became silent. After a few seconds, it was the commander who asked another question.
"But why would he do that?"
"Why not?" Aaron responded to him. "Someone who has nothing to lose can do pretty much anything."
"..."
For some reason, the three other people in the room beside Kairen flinched slightly upon hearing those words being spoken by Aaron. "I'm not sure how much he managed to find out about the truth behind that power, or how he found out about them, but 50 years isn't a short time to dig up and investigate. I don't think he knows the whole truth, but he sure knows too much, and that's enough for him to form a plan that would put this world in a rather special situation."
Kairen continued with his guesses. "So, even if we don't do anything, this place is already under the watch of someone who has the power to destroy it in the blink of an eye. There is no reason for him to destroy this place but I don't think has any reason not to do it. While he also knows that I and Roy are also related to this land and that this place has a close connection to the rest of his plans, it's actually a huge risk to let it be like it is now."
Kairen paused for a second to see if anyone disagreed with him, but no one spoke. Before he could continue his words, the commander stated the same thing that was on Kairen's mind.
"So we'd better take action faster if we are going to get attacked anyway."
