When they got back to Grigori Azazel and Baraqiel were waiting for them, they both sighed in relief when they saw they were fine. When Azazel saw the girl in Raynares hands he was interested. "So what is special about her?" Kurayami explained. "When we got to the second village we found beasts dead and impaled by ice. She was hurt, but moved despite it."
He approached her and found her aura was pretty strong. She was a normal human, but she was still quite strong despite it. "Take her to the sickbay. You two rescued her, so wait for her to wake up." They both nodded and Shemhazai left for his duties. When she was placed in the sick bay a doctor began to diagnose her, but the phoenix tears did most of the job for him.
"She will be fine. She just has severe blood loss.. He gave her a medicine to recover from bloodloss and after that just made sure she had no other injuries. "Well she is out of the danger and now you two just need to wait for her to wake up. I take my leave." The doctor left and now it was just the two of them with the girl.
He was right and in one hour she woke up and her dark blue eyes came to view. She looked all around and the first thing she saw Kurayami's hollow eyes and nearly freaked out, but calmed down soon after. She lifted her shirt and saw she was healed. "Where am I?" Kurayami explained her situation.
"We were out their killing monsters and when we saw your footprints and blood so we followed. We found you near death, so we healed you and brought you here to Grigori to treat your wounds." She thought about it and yet there was no sadness in her gaze. "I see. I am the only survivor." He nodded. "Sorry about that." She shook her head.
"They were weak and the weak die. Do not apologize." His eyebrow raised in surprise. "I see you were raised with his mentality. Not too unusual, so what is your name?" She stood up leaned up and sighed. "My name is Esdeath. You." He nodded. "Kurayami, she is Raynare." She thought those names were a little strange. "Where am I specifically?"
"Japan I guess." She was very surprised and asked more. "How did we get here? How long have I been out?" He thought about it. "When we found you it seemed you were injured for an hour. You have been out for about 6 hours. As for how you got here it was magic." She thought about her special ability to manipulate ice that she unlocked recently. "Does it have to do with this?"
She held her hand out and began to produce small ice knives and spikes. He nodded. "Kind of. However, now is what you plan to do next. You know about monsters and the supernatural right?" She nodded. "The beasts were hunted, but they just were too strong and it resulted in everyone dying. Now I don't know." She looked a little confused overall.
He thought about it and gave her more info. "Well allow me to explain a bit better. Grigori is an organization made of Fallen Angels led by Azazel who you will meet soon. Any more questions?" She tilted her head. "Fallen Angels?" He facepalmed as she lived in an isolated village where the bible might not be heard off.
"Well in the world there are many races like dragons, monsters, angels, devils, yokai, and humans. Fallen Angels are either the result of Angels who fell from heaven, or were born. I and Raynare are later, but you will learn more later." She thought about it and wanted to know more. She got up and looked right at him. "Take me to this Azazel." However, suddenly a male voice was heard.
"No need. I am here." She looked at the man with black and blond hair. "Well, you must be the girl they brought back. What's your name?" She felt a little nervous as he felt extremely strong. "Esdeath." He nodded. "Tell me. Do you have a black mark on your chest?" She nodded. "Why?" He suddenly smiled. "You possess one of the 14 Longinous called the Demon Extract. Do you hear voices telling you to do evil deeds, or hurt yourself?"
Her eyes opened wide open. "Yes. I am not weak and ignore them, but what it?" He sat in a chair and explained. "Sacred Gears are things created by God. You won't know who he is, but just know he was crazy strong. Anyway, he created many types, but the 14 Longinous are things that had enough power to kill gods. Yours was made from the blood of an ice demon, so the voices are it trying to torment you."
She thought about it and felt it was hard to believe she had such power to kill a god. "You said there are 14 that can kill gods. Who owns the other 13." Azazel smiled and pointed to Kurayami. "He posses one of them. Unlike yours, his is fire-based called Incinirate Anthem. We have another kid here named Vali who owns another one called Divine Dividing. The rest are owned by pretty famous people, or are missing."
He smiled and gave her an offer. "We have a special school for Sacred Gear users where we can help you master your power so you can protect yourself because even if you are strong as a Longinous user everyone will be after you." She thought about it and agreed. "I will get knowledge as well right? I rather not be ignorant of the world." He nodded. "That is obvious."
Raynare smiled. "Well, I guess you are joining the team. He already explained, but my name is Raynare. I don't have a Longinous, but I have technically three sacred gears." She was curious. "Can you have more than one?" Azazel explained. "Normally no. However her sacred gears come from the same source, so it was fine. Anyways I should go." Azazel left and now the three kids were alone.
She was curious about a lot of things. "Where can I learn more?" Raynare decided to let her know something first. "Even though it seems we are speaking the same language we are not. Fallen Angels can understand all languages, so you would have to learn Japanese first." She was surprised as she thought they were speaking Russian like her. "So I need to learn first."
"Well let's go." She stood up and got dressed in a uniform they left for her and when she was dressed she went out of the room being led by Kurayami and Raynare. "Well, first we should see my dad." She was curious who his father was and nodded. When they found him Esdeath felt he was really strong as well.
"Hey, dad. She is awake." Baraqiel looked at the small girl his son's and Raynare'ss age and kneeled down. "What's your name?" She looked into his eyes and answered. "Esdeath." He nodded and patted her head. "So I heard you own a Longinus. That true?" She nodded. "Azazel said I do, but I want to learn as I need to know for myself." He felt she was quite a smart kid. "Well, you can count on me to teach you anything you need. You will be in my class after all."
Raynare just had a thought. "Where will she stay? Will she stay at the Orphanage, or what?" Esdeath was a little confused about that and had a great idea. "I will stay with you." Baraqiel looked at her who was not asking, but saying she would. He thought about what Shuri would say and yet Raynare was fine with it. "It is better than leaving her alone with the others."
Kurayami also agreed. "We did save her, so it is our responsibility." Baraqiel was stuck between a rock and a hard place, yet he also felt bad for her. "I will call Shuri." He used a communication spell to connect with his wife and when she answered she was a little confused.
"Baraqiel. You never use this. What is wrong?" He sighed and began to explain. "Today was Raynare's and Kurayami's first mission and they rescued a hurt girl, who happens to have a Longinus. She wants to stay with us." Shuri began to chuckle. "We too Raynare, so why not, but this is the last time." Baraqiel agreed. "I agree. I don't think more Longinous users will be found that soon."
He hung up and looked at the small girl. "Seems my wife agreed. However this is the last time, but even I fought we will find more Longinous users. Even more so what are the chances of us finding young Longinous users as well." Esdeath looked victorious and smiled.
"It is a pleasure." On the way home Kurayami carried her himself and when Esdeath saw the wings of Baraqiel, Raynare, and Kurayami she was convinced he was not a human. "How does it feel to have wings?" They stopped in the air to think about it. "Normal. Like your hands, but more. Hard to explain." Baraqiel and Raynare agreed. It was just normal to them, so explaining what it was like was hard.
They continued and when they got to the house Shuri and Akeno were waiting outside. Elektra was one Akeno's head and when Shuri saw Esdeath she sighed as it was another cute girl. Just looking at her cute face is was obvious she was going to grow into a real beauty.
Shuri approached Esdeath and stroked her head. "You must be Esdeath." Esdeath tilted her head as she couldn't understand a thing. Kurayami translated for her. "She said you must be Esdeath." Esdeath nodded. "You are Kurayami's mother?" When he translated she nodded.
It went like this until they deiced the first thing was to teach her Japanese. Akeno looked at her brother and asked a few questions. "Where did you find her?" Raynare explained in his place. "It was our first mission in Siberia to clear out some monsters. On the second village, we found her tracks and followed them, We healed her and the rest is history."
Akeno wanted to know more. "Does she have a sacred gear?" Kurayami nodded. "One of the 14 Longinus, the Demon Extract. Gives the user the ability to control extreme amounts of ice. Supposedly a former weirder froze a country into ice." Akeno was impressed. "How does it compare to you?" He smiled with pride. "Just as strong. In the future, if I wanted I can burn a country to ciders."
Akeno eyes were shinning with jealousy and admiration, but Shuri bonked him on the head. He held his head and looked at his mom. "There will be no country burning or freezing as long as I have anything to say about it. Got it." She was smiling, but it was no smile. He nodded rapidly and Baraqiel shivered in fear. He knew how bad it was when she did that.
He was shivering in fear, yet a light blush formed on his face. They all entered the house and they helped Shuri prepare the table and such. Esdeath saw the chopsticks and it only took a short explanation to figure out how it worked. After the meal, they got a bed in the guest bedroom where Raynare, Esdeath, and Kurayami slept as it was just better.
Esdeath was wide awake and was in her thoughts while the Demon Extract told her to kill Raynare and Kurayami and then herself. She crushed that voice and began to doze off. 'I am not weak enough to be affected by the voice of a dead demon.' She fell asleep after crushing the demon's voice.
Kurayami was asleep, but his muscles were tense and ready to spring awake. This is a training method his previous master taught him. 'An assassin must never relax his guard. You never knew when it will save your life.' The three of them were asleep, but even Raynare was not totally defenseless. As a Fallen Angel her instincts were like a hair trigger.
